Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly sabbath. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord.

According to my understanding of the scriptures, today is the Passover. Passover is the first full moon after the spring equinox. This weekly sabbath is also the first annual sabbath of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. On this day, which was also a Friday, one thousand, nine hundred, seventy four (1974) years ago the spotless Lamb of God was sacrificed for the sins of the world. Approximately four thousand, twenty six (4026) years of the sacrifice of a symbolic spotless lamb ended.

God's calendar is based on the movements of the sun and the moon. The popular Jewish calendar is based on a formula which approximates these movements. This formula is not accurate even as an average. Differences of a day or two are common. There is much dispute over the date of this particular Passover and all the feasts in this year. The accumulated error of the formula for the popular Jewish calendar results in an error this year of an entire month. You can read more about the issues at:

http://www.IAUA.name/Calendar.html

There is so much confusion on the dates for the sacred annual sabbaths. I cannot help but think that Satan has almost succeeded in completely destroying any certainty. I have studied this subject extensively yet I confess that there are so many assumptions and interpretations that I might be mistaken about how to determine the start of a month and a year.

Whenever I study complex issues like this the words of the Saviour both comfort and haunt me.

Mark 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

We need to make an honest effort to know the truth and not be satisfied with the traditions of men. I believe that those of us who have honestly sought to do the best we know will be blessed even if we are mistaken. It is important for all of us to be tolerant and understanding. "Judge not".

I believe that there will be great signs in the last days which will occur on the annual sabbaths. These will indicate when the dates are. I suspect that the Saviour will return on the Feast of Ingathering also known as Tabernacles (Sukkot). The command for those in Israel to live in booths symbolizes having no permanent home. The Feast of the Last Great Day (Shemini Atzeret) will be our arrival in heaven.

There is also much dispute over whether the Saviour died on a Friday. One side of the argument says that in order for the Messiah to have been literally buried in the grave three entire days, He must have died on a Wednesday. The spiritual significance and value of this argument completely escapes me.

We need to be careful to avoid getting caught up in arguments that have no true value. This creates disunity and distracts from those important issues we need to study. Satan loves nothing more than for us to argue about things that have no consequence and remain ignorant of those things that matter.

I want to share with you an email I received recently:

-----

"I found your site and I am interested in info on where I can go to to get good Torah based Messianic teaching at a bible college. I am 29 and was considering Rhema. I dont agree with their doctrine but My mom and friend say I need to go to school. I am in Mich and the messianic churches out here are legalistic and don't teach liberty in the Christ Messiah."

-----

I was very touched by this because I too struggle with beliefs that differ from those around me. My reply:

-----

We are not going to find anywhere on this earth that is perfect. Truth can only be found in the Messiah. Truth can only be found in a relationship with Him. Truth can only be found in a study of the Word. This can only be found on an individual level.

All religious institutions are hampered by serving the common ground of a group of people. All organized religions I have studied are struggling against the great apostasy of the Dark Ages. Even the apostles of the Bible struggled with problems within the church.

The Spirit of God works with each of us where we are and leads us forward as we study and follow. You can choose any reasonably Bible based college as a place to learn and grow. Study the Word and hold fast to your beliefs even when they do not agree with those around you. When the Bible is your guide, do not be afraid to believe differently from others.

Do not be afraid to worship and study with those who do not understand and agree with everything you believe. Seek those whose beliefs are the closest to yours and use that as a base from which to grow. God will lead and bless you.

Pray for the guidance of the Spirit of God and He will lead you. Our Saviour says: "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:"

-----

May we all find peace in the soon coming of Yahushua (Ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.

Shabbat Shalom
