Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord. This is the 16th day of the second month. It is two weeks and four days until the evening of Pentecost Sabbath (Wednesday May 23).

II Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The words "rightly dividing" are a little confusing without some careful study. These words come from a single Greek word which appears only once in the Bible. Strong's Dictionary makes this explanation:

"to make a straight cut, that is, (figuratively) to dissect (expound) correctly (the divine message)"

At the heart of the Fourth Angel's message is a controversy of how to expound correctly the divine message of the Bible. A newsletter reader has made some observations which raise some important issues related to this issue. (This is only part of a much larger discussion).

_____

You stated, "I adhere so closely to Biblical principle, such as wearing the tassels,..."Are you aware of this comment from Sister White?

"I will state that the simple, modest, convenient and healthful style of dress we advocate answers to us as did the ribbon of blue to the children of Israel."

She also wrote; "The children of Israel . . . were commanded to have a simple ribbon of blue in the border of their garments, to distinguish them from the nations around them, and to signify that they were God's peculiar people. {See Num. 15:39, 40.} The people of God are not now required to have a special mark placed upon their garments. But in the New Testament we are often referred to ancient Israel for examples. If God gave such definite directions to His ancient people in regard to their dress, will not the dress of His people in this age come under His notice? Should there not be in their dress a distinction from that of the world? Should not the people of God, who are His peculiar treasure, seek even in their dress to glorify God? And should they not be examples in point of dress, and by their simple style rebuke the pride, vanity, and extravagance of worldly, pleasure-loving professors? God requires this of His people. Pride is rebuked in His Word." {OHC 271.2}

In another place she wrote that we are not to deliberately set ourselves out as peculiar, my friend.

. . .

What other lies have we inherited of vanity, and things wherein there is no profit? All of the external signs; tzitziyot, kippah, t'fillin, etc. used today are misrepresentations of His truth. The 'fringe' served (before Messiah and during His ministry) as a reminder of His law but now He places His law upon the hearts of the true believers. Most real Jews of Europe don't even wear the beanie because they know that it was adopted from the catholic church around the early part of the Christian Era and passed on by nominal Jews, mainly through the Rothschild family (Jewish family in league with the Jesuits). And we know that the concept of the phylacteries was to have His law in our minds (foreheads) and in everything we do (right hand).

. . .

We know that spiritual things are spiritually discerned. Those who do not love the truth will be given up to believe a lie, 2 Thess. 2:7-21. In this manner satan will deceive the "very elect" were it possible.

Friend, satan had me on his merry-go-round of falsehoods and lies for a while. During this period, unknown amounts of money (that should have been used to further the cause of Yahuah) I spent on various headdressings, modest clothing, prayer shawls, shofars, menorahs, etc. Only to find that these things "the merchants' get rich off of. I found that: Yes, we (both men and women) are to dress modestly, not wearing the other gender's clothing. But live within our means in doing so and not deliberately make ourselves stand out as being strange. Our Beloved Provider will produce that which we need. And I learned that the message of Brother Paul is grossly misunderstood. He said that men are NOT to cover their heads and for women it is a sign of respect. Today many of the "believers" totally disregard the words of Shaul. I found that the head covering for women is like every good thing of Yahuah's in that satan has a counterfeit, Muslim fanatics. And because it was only a custom and not a command for women to cover, it is better today left alone. The menorah is a false emblem that few realize. Did they use candles in those days? No! They used "oil lamps". Candles go along with the 'book' and 'bell' and 'candle' of occult practices. Of the 'shofar' He had them make silver trumpets in the temple, so a trumpet would work in the place of the "merchant's" expensive shofars, were that needed. What is His temple today? "What know ye not that ye are the temple...? But now we know that the "loud voice" and the "trumpet" are the spiritual type of the antitype "Loud Cry". Did our Beloved Savior carry with Him or His disciples shofars, menorahs, phylacteries, etc.? No! These were symbols, object lessons, given to empress our minds of the principals of our faith not to become ornaments of a "professed" faith. Why are we so intent on going back to the "beggarly elements" when He has gone to such great pain and suffering to set us free from all of these restrictions and encumbrances?

I know first hand how the enemy can bring us to ruin by all of this. I was getting so caught up in this confusion (who is the author of confusion?) that I began to lose sight of my Beloved Savior for all of the burden of these things! It got to the point that someone was sent ('supposedly' from Messiah) to give me, personally, a bottle of spikenard. When I looked up what spikenard was used for it said "anointing" or "burial". I knew this was a turning point for me...and either I would die in my sins or I would become a child of the Most High. At that moment I took the bottle of spikenard and began to run as fast as I could. As I ran I heard a shrill and panicked voice cry out, "Don't do it! Don't do it". I prayed as I ran, "Father, please forgive me and make things right." I threw that bottle of spikenard as far as I could throw it. Brother, it disappeared, literally!!!!! And a cloud of darkness was lifted from me.

I am surprised to hear you speak against following the commandment of God in Number 15:37-41. I am also surprised you hear you quote EGW to support this. Both those quotes were written about 1872. Long before even the events of 1888. EGW did not completely see, understand, and teach the complete following of God's statutes. She did not see all the truth at that time. It is important to note that she did not condemn or discourage the tassels. When you read closely you will see that she did not even actually understand what they were.

EGW also did not teach the observance of God's yearly appointed times. Will you next turn your back on God's yearly Sabbaths?

I am also surprised to hear you counsel that we are not to deliberately set ourselves out as peculiar. While it is true that it is not to be our deliberate intent, God often called on His children to be a peculiar people.

EGW also often described us as a peculiar people. It is true that she warned against being peculiar based on fanaticism or wrong ideas.

Most of what you describe as things you have abandoned are things that are traditions and not the commandments of God. These we should abandon. It is good that you are walking away from things that are traditions. We must be careful not too accidentally discard truth in our discarding of traditions. Satan would love to get us to make that mistake.

I have struggled many times with hearing "fascinating" ideas that sounded good which I then adopted and promoted without careful personal study. Later I was embarrassed to learn that these "fascinating" ideas were fallacies based on a superficial presentation of biblical concepts. These days I have learned to be much more careful both in accepting those things which sound good and rejecting those that don't sound good. Only careful study can rightly separate truth from error.

Many in the church have been taught to discard the "Laws of Moses" without carefully studying for themselves. Yes! the sacrifices have been done away. Be very careful what else you discard.

Have you studied carefully to rightly separate the commands of God from the errors and traditions of men? Will you be ashamed when facing God at His soon coming?

I pray that we may all continue to strive for peace and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-uh-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.

Shabbat Shalom,
