Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Home / Archives

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 17th day of the 5th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6017 Anno Mundi.

The fall Holy Day season begins with Trumpets Sabbath in 6 weeks and 1 day on the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month (Sabbath, September 7th on the 2013, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset on Friday, September 6th).

The Sacred month begins on the world day after lunar conjunction and the sacred year begins with the Spring Passover Rule dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar. The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is a month late this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is two days early in the fall this year.

I hope the college dictionary word in the title doesn't disturb you. It means to confuse, bewilder, make obscure, or unclear. I use the word deliberately to illustrate something confusing because the word is confusing. A little play on words or a pun.

I received an interesting email from a newsletter reader with a 10 page, small print, PDF attachment:

Hello All! Did anyone every study this. I came across the attached study yesterday and was reading it this morning, which kind of shocked me as to the information that is being presented! Let me know if you like, Shalom Walter

The attachment was an extended scholarly treatise that said basically that the Sabbath day was "originally" observed morning to morning instead of evening to evening. There was a "change" sometime in the distant past.

I responded:

My opinion. Scholarly nonsense...

Frank, thanks, Walter

Walter,

Adding to my initial brief response, I have commented before in my newsletters about the dangers of being caught up in novel ideas, which were unheard of before this time.

http://www.iaua.name/Archives/2011/2011-10-07.html

I like this Ellen White comment quoted more fully in the newsletter.

"It is too late in this earth's history to get up something new. The erroneous theories that we had to meet in our early experiences in this work drove us to the Lord in prayer. And the Lord gave me, His messenger, a decided message that men were placing a false application on the Word of God. Christ referred to this danger in the words, "Be watchful and strengthen the things that remain, that are ready to die" (Revelation 3:2). Woe, woe to the man who teaches false theories." {MR760 16.1}

Such is the sad legacy of the Lunar Sabbath apostasy, which has led many away from truth and into error.

Scholars and wannabes especially like to come up with new ideas. They also like to place the source for these things in the distant past to give cachet to their ideas and obscure plain and simple truth. One of the many protections we have is to recognize that our Savior practiced all truth. It is a lot harder to fit these "changes" in the history between His time and ours. It is interesting to observe how they like to quote each other and twist the words of the Bible. Satan is very busy.

Revelation 12:10-12
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a SHORT TIME.

You have been a blessing and a source of inspiration to me by your faithfulness to the Word of God in spite of what the denomination says. Sometimes I despair at the Laodicean nature of the Seventh-day Adventist denomination but where could we fellowship that is any closer to the truth?

Keep the faith and search for the truth, as you have done. Continue your good example to others by practicing ALL our Savior and God teaches.

Be at peace,

Hello Frank, thanks for your reply on the attachment I had send out. I had been approached with this topic lately and I am trying to understand Genesis 1:5. "The evening and the morning were the first day" does not make sense the way it is being presented. It does not state the night and the day were the first day (24 hours), it states plainly the evening and the morning were the first day (24 hours). When I read my German Bible as an example it was translated as: "And the evening came and the morning came, Day one". In order for the evening to come, there must have been a day preceding the evening and the same applies to the morning. The morning can not come until there was a night before". Do you know what I mean? So God called the light day and the darkness he called night. So he lists the day first and then the night. Evening is not the night, evening is the later part of the day and the early part of the night, but it is still light there (dusk, twilight). When I was reading the article I had send you they claim that in the beginning the Jews did celebrate the Sabbath from sunrise to sunrise until the exile in Babylon, when they changed it. I mailed out the attachments in order to get some input from as many people as possible as there is wisdom in the council of many. I prefer Bible only and not Ellen White, even though she wrote many nice things but she also wrote many errors as far as teachings are concerned that's why she quoted: "The Bible must be our standard for every doctrine." CTr 331 - "There is no excuse for any one in taking the position that there is no more truth to be revealed, and that all our expositions of Scripture are without an error. The fact that certain doctrines have been held as truth for many years by our people, is not a proof that our ideas are infallible." RH 12-20, 1892. I know you are familiar with these, just some of my thoughts, Shalom Walter

I responded:

Walter,

Those who know Hebrew better than I have translated the verse:

Gen 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

Other literal translations are similar. Evening begins the night (dark) period, morning begins the day (light) period. It seems quite clear to me. The order He named them is not compelling. The order in the statement of existence is very compelling.

Claims of a change deep in history are a common fodder for those presenting novel ideas. As I said, I do not consider these claims of any value.

I emphasize that our Savior left us an example we can trust during His time here on earth. There would be record of any change from His example. God does not leave us to be confused.

The claims of something being changed in the past without any historical comment or documentation sound dangerously like anti-Judaism and conspiracy theories.

Is your understanding of the Bible confused by Satan's obfuscations?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
