Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!  Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 7th day of the 7th month of the Biblical Calendar in the estimated year 6020 Anno Mundi.

Atonement Sabbath is in three days on the 10th day of the 7th month (Monday, September 12th of the 2016, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset Sunday, September 11th).

On God's Calendar the Biblical month begins on the global day after lunar conjunction. The Biblical year begins with God's New Year's Day (Passover) after the spring equinox (Spring Passover Rule). The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is a month late this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is also a month late.

The newsletter reader response in the last newsletter mentioned that the 6,000 years comes in about 15 years. He was speaking of the entire age of the earth. I agree only in that I suspect it is the years of sin on this earth. I was surprised to hear this mentioned because I have never heard a date near to what I suspect, stated so precisely by anyone before. This is a touchy subject and I pondered very carefully whether I should talk about it.

Many SDA get very upset about any subject like this because they are conditioned by SDA history and culture to be frightened by anything that sounds even remotely like setting a date for the Second Coming. There is a significant danger in actual date setting but not for a healthy consideration for prophetic time. Consider the words of our Savior.

Matthew 16:1-4
1 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.
2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

Our Savior did clearly state that no man knows the actual date.

Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Matthew 24 tells us numerous signs of when the time is approaching though verse 36 says we do not know exactly when the date is. Matthew 16 says we are to be aware of the time approaching. Paul makes this observation.

I Thessalonians 5:1-5
1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

I believe that the better we know our Bible the more clear it becomes when it will be. Also, the closer it is the more clear it becomes, until, near the end God tells us. Ellen White saw this in vision.

"... we heard the voice of God like many waters, which gave us the day and hour of Jesus' coming. The living saints, 144,000 in number, knew and understood the voice, while the wicked thought it was thunder and an earthquake. When God spake the time, he poured on us the Holy Ghost, and our faces began to light up and shine with the glory of God as Moses' did when he came down from Mount Sinai." {WLF 14.2}

Her observation of the conundrum.

"... One saying of the Saviour must not be made to destroy another. Though no man knoweth the day nor the hour of his coming, we are instructed and required to know when it is near. We are further taught that to disregard his warning, and refuse or neglect to know when his advent is near, will be as fatal for us, as it was for those who lived in the days of Noah not to know when the flood was coming..." {GC 370.2}

The dangerous and improper use of date setting is clearly described by Ellen White. She used the phrase "time-setting". There is an entire article on the subject.

"This is the work in which we also are to be engaged. Instead of living in expectation of some special season of excitement, we are wisely to improve present opportunities, doing that which must be done in order that souls may be saved. Instead of exhausting the powers of our mind in speculations in regard to the times and seasons which the Lord has placed in his own power, and withheld from men, we are to yield ourselves to the control of the Holy Spirit, to do present duties, to give the bread of life, unadulterated with human opinions, to souls who are perishing for the truth." {RH, March 22, 1892 par. 3}

"A copy of a vision the Lord gave Sister White, June 21, 1851, at Camden, N.Y. The Lord showed me that the message must go, and that it must not be hung on time; for time will never be a test again. I saw that some were getting a false excitement, arising from preaching time, that the third angel's message can stand on its own foundation, and that it needs not time to strengthen it, and that it will go with mighty power, and do its work, and will be cut short in righteousness." {1SM 188.3}

Therefore, the problem is the danger of sensationalism, which we see practiced in different ways by many ministries. There needs to be a careful and delicate balance between growing in knowledge and sensationalism. Those who are not good students of the Bible, practicing what it says, will react in various ways to those presenting knowledge and ideas, to those grounded in truth, with accusations and slurs.

The approximate date and season will become clearer to the deep student, who recognizes the difficulty and danger of attempting to be precise, until it is revealed to the 144k by God Himself, just before the end. It is a part of the careful preparation for the end of time.

I suppose I should attempt to explain at least some of the reasoning I suspect, for Y6k being in about 15 years. I will assume you know some of the reasoning for the belief in Y6k, held by believers for millennia. You can research this on the Internet...

One example... God has many repeating patterns as noted in the books and previous newsletters. I suspect there are markers at 2k intervals for events of God's chronology. The most important central event of all time and space (see the book 'Sacred Calendar', the chapter 'Reference Point', and the topic 'Golgotha') is the event at Golgotha. The next 2k marker is the Second Coming. Now, remember that records of dates in the past are not absolute, no matter what some dogmatics may say, so we cannot be sure of the exact year. God will perform this step of His Plan at the appointed time.

There are so many difficulties and confusion created by the master of lies and deception. I noticed this paragraph about this subject concerning sensationalist lies that get passed around by the shallow student of the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy.

"If I have failed to make this matter plain which you wish to understand, write me again and I will endeavor to make every point plain and clear. But I must plead not guilty to the charge of seeing in vision that the Lord would [come] at a definite day and hour, which has since passed by. I must now close this letter. I have been interrupted many times to give counsel to those who [have] called me." {16MR 179.2}

Are you making careful preparation for the end of time?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
