Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!  Are you ready?

Home / Archives

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 14th day of the 7th month of the Biblical Calendar in the estimated year 6020 Anno Mundi.

Tabernacles Sabbath is tomorrow on the 15th day of the 7th month (Saturday, September 17th of the 2016, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset Friday, September 16th).

On God's Calendar the Biblical month begins on the global day after lunar conjunction. The Biblical year begins with God's New Year's Day (Passover) after the spring equinox (Spring Passover Rule). The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is a month late this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is also a month late.

A dedicated newsletter reader responded to the 2016-09-02 "Compromise" newsletter.

Dear Frank

Yes, I fully agree with your approach.

A reminder that in the newsletter I said: "In presenting 21st Century Present Truth to others I never compromise. However, I am considerate of their current level of understanding and beliefs and attempt to avoid the temptation to be 'hitting them over the head with a baseball bat'. As gently as the Holy Spirit leads me, I attempt to present enough to challenge their thought processes, but not to trigger defensive reactions."

I am thankful that God has given me some ability to witness to the truth by taking sabbath school lessons and preaching in some places, but we have to be like Abraham and lead gently because of the young. Our Lord did have some confrontations, but usually it was when other church leaders were accusing Him of something. Otherwise, we are told to maintain the truth from the Bible firmly but let the truth do the work, not us.

Interestingly, your correspondent seems to accept Ellen White still, and he will not find her with any other church. Sighing and crying for the abominations done among God's professed people is a mark of God's last time people.

Our Lord faced the same problem, but He did not leave the Jewish faith. He tried to reform it, as also did Luther in his early times. Leaving a church does not necessarily improve our position. In fact it often worsens it. How can we love sinners if we feel we have to stop urging them to accept what is right, and reject them? Yes, we may feel ostracised, we may feel others have a burden against our beliefs which are based on a more comprehensive understanding of the Word of God, but that is a great privilege and responsibility for us. We must pray all the time for wisdom in how and where to witness, not cut ourselves off, and not water down the truths of the Bible which God has been gracious enough to reveal to us.

I speak about the shortcomings of the church's understanding of the Bible quite definitely, I find it next to impossible to keep quiet, but urge people only to study more and to understand the truth about God for themselves. What more can we do?

I responded:

Dear Robin,

I love your last question. What more can we do?

I agree, as you have outlined, that there are only certain definite things we can do, following the example of our Savior. It is so tempting and easy to turn our backs on the denomination because of the tensions and frustrations of following greater progressive truth. It requires great patience and wisdom to know what to do. These are gifts from God to those who follow Him, His Word, and His example.

I pointed out the truth about confrontation in the disappointing SS class yesterday. The SS lesson can be so off base about what the Bible says. Radicals will point out the examples in the Bible of the few times confrontation was needed and ignore the larger examples of patience and tolerance. These people pride themselves on working for God when they are actually working for Satan.

God has led me to avoid confrontation and disruption, guided by His example.

The comforting verse Robin alluded to that helps me to understand my relationship to the denomination, according to the Bible. A powerful chapter.

Ezekiel 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

That is the mark we want! Our Savior's powerful words of warning to the comfortable and proud.

Revelation 3:14-22
14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

How often do we hear these words, but they go in one ear and out the other?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
