Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!  Are you ready?

Home / Archives

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 14th day of the 3rd month of the Biblical Calendar in the estimated year 6021 Anno Mundi.

The Fall Sabbaths begin in 14 weeks with Trumpets Sabbath on the 1st day of the 7th month (Friday, September 22nd of the 2017, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset Thursday, September 21st).

On God's Calendar the Biblical month begins on the global day after lunar conjunction. The Biblical year begins with God's New Year's Day (Passover) after the spring equinox (Spring Passover Rule). The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is the same this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is a day early.

A newsletter reader responds about the confusion of SDA and Babylon.

Frank,

Thanks for sending this timely piece. Until recently I felt bewildered by the paganism of some statements made by Adventist ministers and teachers here in Walla Walla, WA. Such pagan-adorned times of gaiety and mirth as Christmas and Easter-Sunday services led by Adventist ministers at gravesides of highly valued SDA members bothered me greatly. I will never attend any such meetings at times offered by the papal-Gregorian calendar.

All that said, and subsequent to my several years attending local Reform Jewish Synagogue services at a small Synagogue here in Walla Walla, and their using Torah-study groups to make of none-effect those OT teachings of God having a son, such as Proverbs 30:4, and other places describing meetings of the Patriarchs with angels in Whom God's Name was placed, as mere "fairytales," I find myself attending a local SDA congregation and simply dismissing their occastional utterances of things pagan, or unscriptural.

One Mormon lady, who also attends some Sabbath School classes with me, told me that she is having "a hard time with the idea of becoming a Seventh-day Adventist." Being obviously an observant Jew who believes in Jesus and His message, (wearing the taltth as commanded in Numbers, with the tassels), I told her that, in the end, we as individuals must decide for ourselves what we see in what she openly calls "the Jewish Book," tells us that we should do and say.

I also told her that as I participate in these SS classes and contribute what I believe to be Biblical truth, I also listen to others who contribute to it. I have learned some spiritual lessons, including giving of textual references and quotes that relate in various ways to the subject, but that also include words and phrases that support the prophetic message of Jesus, the Messiah and what He did and taught as our example. One young SDA doctoral student of theology who teaches the SS class at the University on a regular basis, now supports the application of the Torah's teachings as they relate to Christianity. I think we ahould all pray for this young dedicated leader.

I think that friendly conversation and support for others in their confusion and doubts, is perhaps a way to participate. I noticed that Jesus, though while in Jerusalem for Passover and other yearly festivals of worship and praise, did not question or mention which days the Sadducees held their Passover Seders on, and likely other festival times as well. They had a huge job to do at the Temple and, I think Jesus, the One who gave us Torah, understood their situation,

Ron, a Messianic Jewish SDA.

I responded:

Ron,

There are many who are bewildered by the glaring errors they recognize in Adventism when they learn more of Bible Truth. I have personally felt many reactions and explored many options. I have observed many other people's reactions and options they chose. All human organizations contain errors and traditions. We must choose our standards and participate in the organization that is closest to truth. I have not seen any successful new organization created that remains stable for the long term and sticks with truth. I have found most do not even measure up to my standard of truth any better than the SDA. This is my evaluation of some of the major options:

I choose to follow the books of the Hebrew Bible and the later additional books recognized by almost all Protestants, including Adventists. I have found the Bible to be the only spiritual teachings that have authority. I follow every word to the best of my ability and understanding. This requires strenuous Bible study over the course of many years. Be patient and follow what you understand until you learn more.

Seventh-day Adventists represent the ultimate prophetic choice for these last days. There are many errors primarily in following Catholic teachings and the replacement holy days rejecting the Biblical yearly Sabbaths.

Judaism practices the Biblical yearly Sabbaths with some accuracy but rejects the Messiah and embraces all kinds of traditional nonsense accumulated over millennia.

Messianics are a confused mixture of all kinds of beliefs from Judaism, Protestantism, and whatever.

Church of God is a partial attempt to follow all the Bible with some success but have no solid grasp of last day prophecy. It is now splintered after the death of their charismatic leader Herbert W. Armstrong.

You made an important observation that Jesus, Our Example, did not speak out against what must have been significant errors taught in the temple. He taught the truth that was needed for those who would listen. It took the Pharisees and Sadducees a while to realize the revolutionary effect of His teaching and turn against Him.

The Bible emphasizes both the Law and Prophecy. Therefore, following a group that is short on prophetic understanding and prophetic guidance is not following the Bible.

Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

I do not look to the [current] SDA denomination for light but to fulfill God's command.

Leviticus 23:2 Speak to the children of Israel, and say them, Concerning the holy days of IAUA, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my holy days.

Be at peace,

Frank T. Clark, a ThURA observant Seventh-day Adventist - When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth... He will show you things to come. John 16:13 (FTCABE)

I later inquired:

Ron,

Do I need to remove your name when I make this a newsletter?

Ron responded:

You may keep my name as part of your newsletter. Ron Dahlke

I immediately thought of this verse, which I sent to Ron.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

There is so much evil, deception, and lies being taught and practiced by SDA today that it is sometimes an embarrassment to be associated with them. We are required by God to be associated with a group of believers no matter how badly they behave sometimes. The ancient temple teachers were often very seriously apostatized yet God continued to work with them.

There have been "comings out" in past history but the leading of God through EGW says only reform is needed and there will come a time at the end when we will stand alone but there will not be a new organization.

"I was confirmed in all I had stated in Minneapolis, that a reformation must go through the churches. Reforms must be made, for spiritual weakness and blindness were upon the people who had been blessed with great light and precious opportunities and privileges. As reformers they had come out of the denominational churches, but they now act a part similar to that which the churches acted. We hoped that there would not be the necessity for another coming out. [THIS IS THE ONLY KNOWN STATEMENT FROM THE PEN OF ELLEN WHITE INDICATING THAT SHE MIGHT HAVE LOST CONFIDENCE IN THE SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH ORGANIZATION. THE DOUBT WHICH SHE EXPRESSED HERE WAS NEVER REPEATED DURING THE REMAINING TWENTY-SIX YEARS OF HER LIFE.] While we will endeavor to keep the "unity of the Spirit" in the bonds of peace, we will not with pen or voice cease to protest against bigotry.--EGW'88 356, 357 (1889)." {LDE 48.1}

Do you look to God and His Word for discernment in the middle of error and confusion?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
