Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!  Are you ready?

Home / Archives

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 21st day of the 3rd month of the Biblical Calendar in the estimated year 6021 Anno Mundi.

The Fall Sabbaths begin in 13 weeks with Trumpets Sabbath on the 1st day of the 7th month (Friday, September 22nd of the 2017, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset Thursday, September 21st).

On God's Calendar the Biblical month begins on the global day after lunar conjunction. The Biblical year begins with God's New Year's Day (Passover) after the spring equinox (Spring Passover Rule). The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is the same this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is a day early.

A newsletter reader responds to the previous newsletters with some very appropriate observations.

Dear Frank

I wholly agree with your position. I think perplexity comes when we attend church with the idea we will receive something. Our Lord went to an apostate temple but did not cause a commotion saying they had left the truth or leave the church in a flurry of denunciations against the errors. He talked to whatever receptive people He could find there, and told them the true values and meanings of things. We study the Bible for ourselves and find our strength there. Let me share a strong quotation God brought to me recently (Note: it was also in the SS Lesson for the world church to read a few weeks ago).

"It is the first and highest duty of every rational being to learn from the Scriptures what is truth, and then to walk in the light and encourage others to follow his example. We should day by day study the Bible diligently, weighing every thought and comparing scripture with scripture. With divine help we are to form our opinions for ourselves as we are to answer for ourselves before God. {GC 598.2}

"The truths most plainly revealed in the Bible have been involved in doubt and darkness by learned men, who, with a pretense of great wisdom, teach that the Scriptures have a mystical, a secret, spiritual meaning not apparent in the language employed. These men are false teachers. It was to such a class that Jesus declared: "Ye know not the Scriptures, neither the power of God." Mark 12:24. The language of the Bible should be explained according to its obvious meaning, unless a symbol or figure is employed. Christ has given the promise: "If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine." John 7:17. If men would but take the Bible as it reads, if there were no false teachers to mislead and confuse their minds, a work would be accomplished that would make angels glad and that would bring into the fold of Christ thousands upon thousands who are now wandering in error." {GC 598.3.

I find this particularly relevant today. As we study, we have things to share, and we go to church to share them as Our Lord gives us opportunity. Our presence should not look like we are supporting error, but we may speak up where we can. In saying this it brings to memory that some years ago, due to telling the truth, a Conference President BANNED me from speaking in any church or even taking a sabbath school lesson in any church. I wont elaborate on when a friend invited me to take a sabbath school lesson anyway and the furor that caused, even though I only presented the lesson from a non-threatening perspective.

But I never left the church any more than my Lord did. I have continued to influence the church and church members wherever my Lord gives me opportunity, and there have been many of those. Let us draw warmth from the coldness of others. This is the time of test and trial. Let us be found faithful.

"Already the judgments of God are abroad in the land, as seen in storms, in floods, in tempests, in earthquakes, in peril by land and by sea. The great I AM is speaking to those who make void His law. When God's wrath is poured out upon the earth, who will then be able to stand? Now is the time for God's people to show themselves true to principle. When the religion of Christ is most held in contempt, when His law is most despised, then should our zeal be the warmest and our courage and firmness the most unflinching. To stand in defense of truth and righteousness when the majority forsake us, to fight the battles of the Lord when champions are few--this will be our test. At this time we must gather warmth from the coldness of others, courage from their cowardice, and loyalty from their treason. The nation will be on the side of the great rebel leader." 5T 136.2.

Notice carefully that she is talking about the majority forsaking us. In other words, those who are our former brethren in the church. Lord, have mercy on us and give us the strength to persevere, I pray.

I responded:

Robin, I greatly appreciate the EGW quotes you mentioned. I don't study the world SDA lesson. It is a sad fact that people claim to follow the Bible when they follow only what fits in their tradition and ignore the rest. Even worse they twist the words of Paul to claim part of God's Eternal Law is nailed to the cross. Paul will be shocked when he learns how his words were twisted. They twist [KJV "wrest"] the words of our Savior also.

2 Peter 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

It is a sad fact that people claim to believe in EGW when they follow only what fits in their tradition and ignore the rest. Have mercy on us Father and give us strength.

Be at peace,

The Bible and EGW warn us very clearly about the dangers of trusting in man and following what man says.

Jeremiah 17:5-10
5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

"A great mistake has been made by man's trusting in man, and making flesh his arm. Methods and plans will be devised to hedge about the work that should be done. Men trust in human strength, and do not come to Christ; and they are strengthless. Distinct plans must be laid, but they must not be of that character that will place man under the control of men." {RH, May 25, 1897 par. 10}

Do you look for Biblical Truth and follow it honestly?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
