Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!  Are you ready?

Home / Archives

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is day 3 of month 10 of the Biblical Calendar in the estimated year 6021 Anno Mundi.

The Spring Sabbaths begin in 14 weeks and three days with Unleavened Bread Sabbath, day 15 of month 1 (Monday, April 2 of the 2018, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset Sunday, April 1).

On God's Calendar the Biblical month begins on the global day after lunar conjunction. The Biblical year begins with God's New Year's Day (Passover) after the spring equinox (Spring Passover Rule). The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is a month late next year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar will be two days early in spring and one day early in fall.

I received an email from a long time newsletter reader responding to the last newsletter.

Interesting conversation. God is leading a people who accept all of His word and who desire above all to have Him perfectly reproduce His character in them. Yes, the truth isolates us at present, but there will be 144,000 which is really a large number.

May He be everything for us.

I responded:

Nice to hear from you. Makes me feel less isolated. :-) There will be many more than 144k at the end. I have pondered the number of 144k. If you estimate the world population at 14.4 billion then the 144k are only 1 per 100,000. If you estimate the SDA world membership at 14.4 million then it is only 1 per 100. Sobering thought. It means that in a church like ours, of about 200 members, there are only two people. Very sobering. Ellen estimated at one time only 1 in 20!

Sorry to dispute your figures, but agree fully with your conclusions.

World population is currently around 8 billion, and SDA church membership is well over 19 million. But in light of EGW's statements that there were whole churches in which not one person was saved, that is food for thought. No wonder we read so much from our Messiah in Matthew 7 about even leaders in the church who Our Messiah has never known. There are so many hearers and so few doers.

Here in the XXX I believe we are now suffering more and more of the judgments of God. We have just passed through one big typhoon and two more are forming up, when the rainy season should be about over. About 80 died in the storm last week, despite so many preparedness measures after the terrifying typhoon Haiyan with wind speeds over 350 km/hr. We ran outreach meetings last week in our local community but it is too early to know the results.

I have presented present truth to so many, including the inevitable lead on in Leviticus 23 from keeping weekly sabbaths to keeping God's annual holy days, but so few read the Bible for themselves and they just stick with the majority for 'safety.'

Exciting days! May we remain faithful.

I responded:

I did not fully explain myself. :-) I was using approximate rounded numbers for easy approximate calculation to reach an approximate number to give a scale to the situation. :-)

Exciting days indeed. People are noticing but they don't want to change. They are so comfortable within their peer group. Particularly SDA because "We have the Truth!"

Ezekiel 12:2 'Son of man, you live in the middle of a rebellious house, that has eyes to see, but does not see, that has ears to hear, but does not hear, because they are a rebellious house.

Repeated by Moses, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Paul, and our Savior.

The restraints on Satan are slowly being loosed. The sealing is close.

Rev 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
Rev 7:2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Rev 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Troubling times...

I still think your estimate of having 1 in every 100 SDAs who are responding to all of God's truth as rather high. Interestingly, there is a revival of vegetarianism going on in this country among the SDAs. I can show from the Bible how all SDAs eating meat are regarded by Him as being cut off from Him and last sabbath we attended an ordination of 3 young ,men. The pastor from the Union doing the ordination is a good friend and he said outright that all 3 pastors must be vegetarians in order to lead the flock of God. I was surprised he was so strong on this when I know so few who are vegetarians. But EGW says so much about the importance of this that I am not ashamed to tell people it is important in spiritual development. It was step 1 with Daniel in developing a Christ-like life.

Anyway, Be encouraged.

I responded:

It was a ballpark figure. :-) Recognizing that the 144k are spread all over the world brings the realization that there may only be two or three in all of Southern Illinois for example. I have pondered the communication logistics and how the message of the Third Elijah will reach the world. Then I realized the role of the Internet.

The reason vegetarianism is important is because modern meat processing does not drain the blood as God commands in the Law of Moses, therefore the meat is unclean. There are other troubling and improper things about the current way meat is grown and harvested. It is important to recognize that eating properly grown and prepared meat was properly done by many (most?) Bible faithful. Clearly understanding the difference and the primary reason for vegetarianism helps removes confusion and troubling doubts in the mind of thoughtful people. "Jesus ate meat and so can I!"

There are many troubling inconsistencies in SDA understanding that lead people to question and doubt the whole system. As a scientist I have been confronted with these and almost lost my way. Therefore, I have struggled and studied the Bible diligently to find God's reasoning and logic that can appeal to the modern mind. God created science! He is highly logical and those who portray Him otherwise are destroying the basis of faith. Faith means we do not and cannot understand the vastness of knowledge and God's creation but we can know enough to reasonably trust Him and believe in Him.

Dear Frank

I agree with your thoughts on science. Correctly understood, it is finding and getting an understanding of God's laws, which permeate everything in the universe He created. That is perhaps why the Jewish people got too heavily into trying to define how to apply those laws. They felt God expected them to keep the laws and so they needed to work out exactly how to do this, and then the laws took on a life of their own somewhat separated from God Himself.

Yet, I believe God is a God of detail. He says, "He that is faithful in that which is least . . ." He attached some very import concepts in how He applied this statement. I think the key is that we must never let laws obscure our concepts of God as a loving and caring God, and He wants us to be the same. I have been accused of being superior precisely because I do believe in the importance of detail, but I am not forcing people to do the same. It is part of one's walk with our Lord. Some generalise everything, which is one reason why keeping any day of the week holy is good enough to be in harmony with the 4th commandment. I just believe that when God specified the day of the week, He expected us to listen and follow through because there is a blessing for those who instantly respond to all He tells us, in detail. And He told us the sabbath began at sunset on the sixth day rather than midnight to midnight, and there is a blessing in keeping this detail. Others may choose what they want to do, but I want to learn to understand Him better and to love Him and I can only do this if I follow where He leads without imposing on His leading my own thoughts. This is one reason why we have so so many denominations.

Anyway, may this sabbath be a special day of blessing for you.

The scientific mindset of the modern world sees the Bible as mythology. This is reinforced by the lack of knowledge and logic among believers. Therefore, the world embraces evolution and atheism.

I pray that our witness will get better.

Do you see the harmony between God's Word and science?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
