Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is day 15 of month 1 of the year 1988 Anno Crucis of the Biblical Calendar.

The Spring Sabbaths begin today, the Biblical New Year's day on the First yearly Sabbath of Unleavened Bread, day 15 of month 1 (Friday, March 22 of the 2019, Gregorian Calendar, last night at sunset Thursday, March 21). The Second yearly Sabbath of Unleavened Bread is next week, day 22 of month 1 (Friday, March 29 of the 2019, Gregorian Calendar, sunset Thursday, March 28).

On God's Calendar the Biblical month begins on the global day after lunar conjunction. The Biblical year begins with God's New Year's Day (Passover) after the spring equinox (Spring Passover Rule). The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is a month late in the Gregorian 2019 year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar will also be a month late.

I have been hearing some interesting sermons at church. There was a two part series about the church of the apostles compared with the church of today. The church of today falls quite short of the Biblical description of the church of the apostles. The church of the apostles degraded after a century into the beginnings of the Roman Catholic Church. We will not see something today like the church of the apostles until full Biblical reform comes with the Elijah Message.

The Gospel Commission was mentioned many times:

Matthew 28:19-20
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

It was pointed out that it is very common to baptize people into the Adventist church but later they disappear out the back door. I spoke about this in the 2011-01-28 blog titled Prevailing Church.

The focus was properly placed on the importance of teaching members. The question was asked, "What can we do?" We were directed to let the pastor know our ideas.

I immediately thought of some ideas. I was not hopeful of a good reception. I pondered the problem of trying to teach people who are not actually willing to learn. People tend to be happy with the way things are (the status quo).

The normal Sabbath School is a good start for beginners and simple study. The first thing that is needed is to emphasize the importance and the value of Sabbath School attendance from the pulpit. So many people don't show up until sermon time.

The Sabbath School is reasonably good at our church. The class is somewhat interactive, which is very important. The biggest problem is how easy it is to slip into trite questions and answers. It is important to think beyond the surface and take a fresh look.

It is important for the church member to be growing in their knowledge and experience with the Bible. Therefore, I recognize very clearly that there is a need of an Advanced Bible Topics discussion alternate class. This class would do a deep verse by verse study of topics agreed on by the group. Ideally these would be topics and parts of the Bible that are often overlooked by the mainstream. I would start with Malachi 4. :-)

The discussion group needs to be small. The ideal would be 6 - 12 members. These need to be people who are interested in a deep exploration of truth. They also need to be able to look beyond the typical ideas and look for something more.

Are you teaching and learning all the Word of God?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
