Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is day 14 of month 6 of the year 1988 Anno Crucis of the Biblical Calendar.

The Fall Sabbaths, begin with Trumpets in 2 weeks and two days, day 1 of month 7 (Sunday, September 1 of the 2019, Gregorian Calendar, sunset Saturday, October 31).

On God's Calendar the Biblical month begins on the global day after lunar conjunction. The Biblical year begins with God's New Year's Day (Passover) after the spring equinox (Spring Passover Rule). The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is a month late in the Gregorian 2019 year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar will also be a month late.

The title of my talk today is "Solid Food". I believe you can recognize that using the metaphor of solid food refers to the Word of God. In this talk I will be using a personal translation I have been working on using Formal Twentieth Century American Basic English. I believe you will find it is accurate but makes the Word of God clearer to the typical person.

You may certainly follow along in your preferred translation. My words may sometimes sound harsh. I am primarily quoting Scripture. Everything said is meant in loving care with the purpose of improving your journey to the eternal home of those who follow God.

We find these words of guidance and warning from Paul to Timothy in his second letter.

2 Timothy 3:12-17 Everyone who wants to live showing true devotion to God in Jesus our Savior will be persecuted. People who are evil and cheat others will become worse and worse. They will fool others, but they will also be fooling themselves. You should continue following the teaching you learned. You know it is true, because you know you can trust those who taught you. You have known the Holy Scriptures since you were a child. These Scriptures are able to make you wise. Wisdom leads to salvation through faith in Jesus our Savior. All Scripture is given by God. All Scripture is useful for teaching and for showing people what is wrong in their lives. It is useful for correcting faults and teaching the right way to live. Using the Scriptures, those who serve God will be prepared and will have everything they need to do every good work.

We recognize the Word of God begins with the milk of truth for those who are beginning their walk with God. Peter provided guidance in his first letter to believers.

1 Peter 2:1-3 So then, stop doing anything to hurt others. Don't lie anymore, and stop trying to fool people. Don't be jealous or say bad things about others. Like newborn babies hungry for milk, you should want the pure teaching that feeds your spirit. With it you can grow up and be saved. You have already tasted the goodness of the Lord.

Paul provided additional guidance in his letter to the Hebrews who had difficulty recognizing the Messiah and His reformation of standard Jewish understanding. These were also deeply grounded in the Word of God. However, there was a failure to correctly understand and follow the truth. The traditions of the elders often disagreed with the truth. This has been a problem among all believers since Satan corrupted the world.

Hebrews 5:11-14 We have many things to tell you about this. But it is hard to explain because you have stopped trying to understand. You have had enough time that by now you should be teachers. But you need someone to teach you again the first lessons of God's teaching. You still need the teaching that is like milk. You are not ready for solid food. Anyone who lives on milk is still a baby and is not able to understand much about living right. But solid food is for people who have grown up. From their experience they have learned to see the difference between good and evil.

Paul also spoke to the Corinthians in his first letter to those who were supposed to be deeply grounded in the Word of God.

1 Corinthians 3:1-3 Brothers and sisters, when I was there, I could not talk to you the way I talk to people who are led by the Holy Spirit. I had to talk to you like ordinary people of the world. You were like babies in our Savior. The teaching I gave you was like milk, not solid food. I did this because you were not ready for solid food. Even now you are still not ready. You are still not following the Holy Spirit. You are jealous of each other and you are always arguing with each other. This shows that you are still following your own selfish desires. You are acting like ordinary people of the world.

Our Savior was also limited in what He could tell His struggling disciples. They were deeply corrupted with traditional beliefs.

John 16:8-13 "When the Holy Spirit comes, He will show the people of the world how wrong they are about sin, about being right with God, and about judgment. He will prove that they are guilty of sin, because they don't believe in Me. He will show them how wrong they are about how to be right with God. The Holy Spirit will do this, because I am going to the Father. You will not see Me then. The Holy Spirit will show them how wrong their judgment is, because their leader has already been condemned.

"I have so much more to tell you, but it is too much for you to accept now. However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will lead you into all truth. He will not speak His own words. He will speak only what He hears from the Father. He will tell you what will happen in the future.

Paul commanded Timothy and us to teach the Word of God. He warned all who would teach Truth how difficult it would become.

2 Timothy 4:1-5 Before God and Jesus our Savior, I give you a command. Jesus our Savior is the one who will judge all people--those who are living and those who have died. He is coming again to rule in His kingdom. So I give you this command: Tell everyone God's message. Be ready at all times to do whatever is needed. Tell people what they need to do, tell them when they are doing wrong, and encourage them. Do this with great patience and careful teaching. The time will come when people will not listen to true teaching. Instead, people will find more and more teachers who please them. They will find teachers who say what they want to hear. People will stop listening to the truth. They will begin to follow the teaching in false stories. But you should control yourself at all times. When troubles come, accept them. Do the work of telling the Good News. Do all the duties of a servant of God.

Do not be complacent. Do not comfort yourself with the idea that you have a sufficient understanding of God's Word. Remember that God sees us as the Laodicean church.

Revelation 3:14-19 "Write this to the angel of the church in Laodicea:

"Here is a message from the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of all that God has made.

"I know what you do. You are not hot or cold. I wish that you were hot or cold! Since you are only warm--not hot, not cold, I am ready to spit you out of my mouth. You say you are rich. You think you have become wealthy and don't need anything. But you don't know that you are really miserable, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. I advise you to buy gold from me--gold made pure in fire. Then you will be rich. I tell you this: Buy clothes that are white. Then you will be able to cover your shameful nakedness. I also tell you to buy medicine to put on your eyes. Then you will be able to see.

"I correct and punish the people I love. So show that nothing is more important to you than living right. Change your hearts and lives.

The wealth and gold spoken of here is a metaphor for Truth. May we all seek greater Truth and

Mark 12:30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. (Deuteronomy 6:5)

Are you prepared and able to handle solid food?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
