Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly sabbath. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord.

It is hard to believe that it has been six months since my last newsletter. There have been many times I had many things I wanted to write but the time kept slipping away from me. Things haven't gotten any better, in fact they have gotten much worse. The pressures of work, family, and church leave only a little time for study and witnessing but not much else.

At prayer meeting the elder made a statement which electrified me. He said something to the effect that knowledge doesn't save you. I thought to myself "Wait a minute!"

6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Hosea 4:6

I am reminded of the confrontation of the balance of being saved by grace and the place of works. Just as it is true we are not saved by works but those who are saved will have good works, it is also true that we are not saved by knowledge but those who are saved will diligently seek true knowledge. The importance of knowledge is emphasized in these verses.

32 Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:32
3 This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
John 17:3

When we truly believe and are saved we will learn all we can about the Shepherd so that we will truly know Him.

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8
4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
John 10:4
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:17

What is the response of the Shepherd to those who have not earnestly sought to know Him?

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Matthew 25:12
27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
Luke 13:27

The elder emphasized the importance of having a relationship experience with Christ. As mentioned in my last newsletter there is a dangerous dependence on feelings and emotion. Satan plays on feelings and emotions. The life of a believer is not devoid of emotion but it is based on principle which is not subject to the whims of how you feel.

How well do you know the Shepherd and what He teaches?

May we all find peace and unity in the soon coming of IAUShUO (Ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
