Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly sabbath. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord.

There is a message in Revelation which is repeated over and over. It is a warning that is becoming more clear to me and which the church does not seem to fully grasp.

Revelation 3:11
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Revelation 22:7
Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

Revelation 22:12
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Revelation 22:20
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

This warning was given almost 2000 years ago so it clearly does not have anything to do with His coming soon. There is an urgency that things will happen fast. You must be ready before they start happening or it will be too late. There are other statements which say the same thing.

Revelation 16:15
Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

The Spirit of Prophecy says it in even plainer words for our current time.

Section One - Present Opportunities
Our Responsibility
Transgression has almost reached its limit. Confusion fills the world, and a great terror is soon to come upon human beings. The end is very near. We who know the truth should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise. {8T 28.1}{RH, September 10, 1903 par. 5}

Prophets and Kings
Chapter 51 - A Spiritual Revival
Christians should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise, and this preparation they should make by diligently studying the word of God and striving to conform their lives to its precepts. The tremendous issues of eternity demand of us something besides an imaginary religion, a religion of words and forms, where truth is kept in the outer court. God calls for a revival and a reformation. The words of the Bible and the Bible alone, should be heard from the pulpit. But the Bible has been robbed of its power, and the result is seen in a lowering of the tone of spiritual life. In many sermons of today there is not that divine manifestation which awakens the conscience and brings life to the soul. The hearers cannot say, "Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the Scriptures?" Luke 24:32. There are many who are crying out for the living God, longing for the divine presence. Let the word of God speak to the heart. Let those who have heard only tradition and human theories and maxims, hear the voice of Him who can renew the soul unto eternal life. {PK 626.1}

The Last Crisis
The agencies of evil are combining their forces and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones. {9T 11.2}

The Saviour warned by many parables that preparation for the end is needed and not being done as in the parable of the ten virgins of Matthew 25. He warned us over and over.

Mark 13:33
Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Luke 21:36
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

When I read these passages my sense of the urgency of our situation is magnified. I have been compelled to more intense preparation in my life. I am concerned for my brethren around me. I do not see a sense of urgency in those around me and in the church. One person recently made the statement to me:

"Many of the leadership and members of the church plan and act as if the church will go on for another hundred years."

The preliminary signs are even now all around us. People comment on their end time significance and then go on about their lives as if time will just continue on. Remember Noah?

Matthew 24:38-39
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Noah was in the ark seven days before the flood came. The time for choice passed before the final signs of the flood came. I suspect that there were some preliminary signs that the Bible does not mention. I have no doubt that it will be the same now. We have already seen the preliminary signs. The time for choice and preparation will pass before the final signs appear.

The time for intense preparation is now. There is some interest in corporate seasons of prayer but this is only a part of a full preparation. Intense personal prayer is needed in my life. Is your life filled with intense personal prayer?

In the past few years I have been engaging in intense Bible Study and I have discovered that I did not understand what the Bible says as well as I thought I did. I do not see intense Bible study within the church. It is difficult to get much participation even in the weekly Sabbath School.

The time for urgent preparation is now! When the last of the final events begin happening and everyone realizes that immediate action is required, it is too late. Remember the ten virgins.

Are you making your preparation? Are you ready to respond as John did?

Revelation 22:20
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

May we strive for peace and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (Ee-uh-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.

Shabbat Shalom,
