Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Home / Archives

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord. This is the 22nd day of the 3rd month of God's Sacred Calendar. It is thirteen weeks and five days until the beginning of the Fall Sacred Holydays starting with the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month which is Trumpets Sabbath (Thursday, September 13 on the Gregorian calendar).

A reader has responded with some valuable feedback concerning the topics of the last newsletter.

_____

I'd rather be honest. I am following what I know and am convicted on. This does not mean I practice the other Sabbaths as you do. (I do not keep them strictly in terms of taking off work, or as strictly as the weekly Sabbath) I don't want to mislead you on that. It does not mean I ignore them also, nor do I want to talk as if I do or don't do something when I do the opposite. I am carefully studying and following what I am convicted on. This is also new to me in the last 1-2 years.

I beleive that the other Sabbaths are a reminder of things happening in prophetic time, and therefore are more important now to study and be aware of. By keeping them through prayer and remembering or finding what I can about them, I am looking forward to Jesus' soon coming and I am keeping Bible prophesy and the heavenly sanctuary (what is occuring there) in my mind and heart and prayers. (I also beleive some very specific things will occur in Israel in fulfillment of prophesy, FYI)

Recently, at the close of Penecost, as praying, I had a deep conviction through the Holy Spirit of the soon-to-be outpouring of the HS to win souls. I prayed deeply about that, it was a powerful experience that still is with me. In reading Revelation 18 today, I saw so much more clearer what will happen as the HS is poured out when laws are passed against the Sabbath, and also the Babylon (what it is) of both religious and financial/economic world (especially the U.S.)

In reading the writings of Paul, I am finding how he kept or remembered the Sacred Days. In reading it, I see or understand that some may have kept those days as a point of reference for harvest, etc; others keeping them as the Jews did. I am grateful to receive your weekly emails, and have been grateful for your webb site. I study these things and prayerfully accept what I see and understand clearly. I am gaining a respect for those who keep things about this that they believe, but which are not what I am convicted on.

In regards to the lunar Sabbath, I wonder if this belief is caught up in some ancient pagan beliefs around that? Some of those "pagan" beliefs were simply counting the times of the seasons so as to plan harvest, know when winter, spring, etc was coming, follow the Creator as they understood them. Those simple beliefs were not against the Bible, not when followed that way. But for many, it became linked with idol worship and other such ceremonies, which are clearly against the Bible. And in today's world there are many who keep those ancient ceremonies for a similar reason. I would not have a problem with someone doing the first part of this, keeping track of times and seasons and how God works through nature. But the other part is clearly against the Bible. And, to say the Sabbath was kept on a lunar calender is also against scripture.

Thanks again for studying these things out and sharing with others!

I responded:

I hope I didn't sound critical in my observations. I certainly didn't wish to criticize anyone for following their best understanding of what God expects. I acknowledge that it also took me a year or so to truly understand the importance of the yearly Sabbaths. Even that was mostly because God led me through a time of unemployment where I had a lot of time which I devoted to intensive Bible Study.

I was also blessed with the time and opportunity to attend the weeklong Adventist Spring and Fall feast programs in Terra Bella, California in 2004. The teaching, example and encouragement of hundreds of fellow believers is incredibly valuable. If you ever get the chance to attend, I would highly recommend it.

The free teaching videos/documents for download at:

as well as the DVD's and videos they have for sale are extremely valuable.

I wasn't offended. I find your email kind and considerate. I don't know how God will bring His children to unity (whatever that means). But some of it happens when we are kind enough to ask, as you did, if we offended someone. When I read your newsletter this week, I was simply concerned that perhaps you needed more direct honesty from me in terms of what I do or don't beleive. That was not to be offensive or because you offended me. But I wanted to give you the honor and respect of that honesty. Honesty has become more and more important to me in my walk with God. Perhaps I also felt a degree of trust as I have noticed in your emails God developing an increasing sensitivity to others.

I will save the link. I don't know when I'll have time to research it. I am working directly with Native Americans, both urban and reservation, people out of homeless shelters, prisons, and some from many different cultures and beliefs. I think this has enriched my way of viewing differing opinions, and gives me more openness in some areas. For example, it has helped to see the happiness a few Jewish supervisors have in keeping Passover, etc. I am comparing what I know from the Bible and EGW as a foundation for understanding prophesy and truth today. I see a process in these truths. I see how God works through what you teach, through Native American beliefs, through the 12-step program, etc.

With the foundation in the Bible and EGW, it is easier to have a clear mind in developing this understanding, and (hopefully) avoid things that aren't true. But it also takes much prayer and heart-searching. I am grateful for what God has enabled me to see in reading your newsletter, although at first the webb site was a bit hard to digest (a few years back), but even then I saw things prophetically that made sence.

I responded:

You mention "Unity". A thought that constantly troubles me. I agree completely that it will come as we show Kindness, Honesty, Consideration, Prayer, and Heart-Searching.

Psalms 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Thanks for quotes. Here is what came to me when I read them: I have had a few church leaders at times tell me that I am one of the few who "truly desires in your heart to do everything God wants you to do." And, that most who attend church are not this way in their heart and mind. So, when in our heart we truly want to keep God's law, walk with him honestly, truly follow Him, even when we don't all beleive the same on some things, if our heart is this way, it is easier to not take offense needlessly.

Perhaps this is what causes "unity". Otherwise, that word "unity" I have seen misused to make everyone keep whatever the organized church believes and not rock the boat. I suppose it is good to not needlessly rock the boat. But, I haven't heart the word "unity" used correctly by any church that I've attended. (Not that I can judge the heart, mind-you).

My daily prayer is to keep my heart truly following Him,

_____

Revelation 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

Is it your prayer to follow Him wherever He leads?

I pray that we may all continue to strive for love, peace and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-uh-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.

Shabbat Shalom,
