Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord. This is the 5th day of the 5th month of God's Sacred Calendar. It is seven weeks and five days until the beginning of the Fall Sacred Holydays starting with the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month which is Trumpets Sabbath (Thursday, September 13 on the 2007 Gregorian calendar).

This week I am offering a lament for how easy it is to choose to believe what is comfortably familiar even though it is wrong. I am also offering a word of encouragement for those who find it hard to accept what is painfully discordant even though it is right.

My thoughts are triggered by a couple of recent incidents where I contacted some people by e-mail for some conversations about God's law and His sacred Festivals. Their websites expressed so much depth and sincerity in their study of God's word and recognition of the importance of God's Festivals. Their ideas were vibrant, insightful, and harmonious with the things I have been studying. Their lives and experiences indicated the possibility of a deep relationship with God. I thought surely these would be kindred spirits for a good exchange of ideas.

You probably guessed what resulted. I am not judging these people's faith or their sincerity. When I suggested that the Festivals they had so much to say about should be observed, I hit a blank wall. They had said over and over how important it is to study the Festivals. They had long presentations on the depths of meaning and the importance of understanding the Festivals. But...

The idea of actually observing the Festivals was going too far. It contradicted with their background, their training, their faith community, their teachers, their leaders. You can mix and match the reasons. The Holy Spirit seemed to have led these people right to the subject of God's Sacred Festivals. But they refuse to actually believe in observing them.

It is easier to reject the truth when your peers do not agree with what the Holy Spirit presents and accept the excuses and lies that Satan presents. It is so much easier to accept the truth when you have a faith community that you can join with to support you. God understands our needs and provides for us when we are willing to follow Him.

I am amazed to realize that somehow I did not become ingrained with the rejection of God's yearly Sabbaths which is prevalent in the church today. When I was given the opportunity to study the issue at about the age of 50 it was not hard for me to recognize the truth. I thank God and the Holy Spirit for the guidance to recognize and follow the truth. I thank God for the support of a few while my faith and understanding grew stronger. I thank God for the strength to withstand the attacks, trials, and mistruths when they came.

The suggestion that there was truth I did not know was met with skepticism. Instead of rejecting the idea the Holy Spirit led me to examine the issues very closely. The initial shock of finding that I had not been taught all the truth led to passing feelings of anger and confusion.

I experienced great joy and eagerness to realize that God had more for me than I had been taught. I dived deeply into intense Bible study to learn all that I could and wondered whether there was even more I did not know. I reread scripture with a new keen eye to make sure nothing was overlooked or dismissed.

The good news is that we can become comfortably familiar with God's truth by studying to earnestly seek the truth under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Luke 11:9-13
9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

We will be blessed by God as we become intimately familiar with truth by observing what God commands.

Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

We can receive comfort and assurance by letting go of our own ideas. Let go of the influence of our leaders, teachers, and peers when they disagree with God's word and obediently follow God's law.

Psalms 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

Are you becoming intimately familiar with God's law and preparing to be sealed for the end of time?

Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

I pray that we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-uh-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.

Shabbat Shalom,
