Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-uh-oo-uh) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord. This is the 12th day of the 2nd month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6013 Anno Mundi.

It is 3 weeks and 1 day until Pentecost Sabbath begins with the evening of the 6th day of the 3rd month (Sunday, May 31 on the 2009 Gregorian calendar, beginning sunset on Saturday, May 30).

This year, those who follow the Millerite Calendar determination agree with my understanding of the Gregorian Calendar dates for God's Sacred Calendar. The dates on the apostate Jewish Calendar are two days earlier in the spring and one day early in the fall.

It is also interesting to note this year, the Catholic observance of Pentecost Sunday falls on the same day as the true Pentecost. This is because the date of Easter and Pentecost is an apostasy based on the date of Passover but moved to the next Sunday. When the time of Passover falls on a Friday evening, as it did when Messiah was sacrificed, the true date for Wave Sheaf and Pentecost will match the date for the Catholic Easter and Pentecost.

Even some who believe in the Law of Moses mistakenly believe Wave Sheaf is always on a Sunday after the weekly Sabbath instead of the day after the yearly Sabbath. This causes them to unintentionally add support to Easter because they think it is the day of Wave Sheaf.

There are some who speak against the observance of the part of God's Law which is called the "Law of Moses". They claim the "Law of Moses" is nailed to the cross. They ignore all the Scripture which says God and His law do not change. They twist texts from the writings of Paul to attempt to prove their point.

Colossians 2:13-14
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

The preceding verse points the way to understanding what was blotted out. It was the handwritten charges of sin against us. The law itself could never be blotted out.

In this well-known commentary on this verse we find two different explanations made of this text. The first follows the true understanding. The second veers off into the path of those who want to do away with any part of God's Law.

Matthew Henry’s Commentary on the Whole Bible
III. Whatever was in force against us is taken out of the way. He has obtained for us a legal discharge from the hand-writing of ordinances, which was against us (Col_2:14), which may be understood, 1. Of that obligation to punishment in which consists the guilt of sin. The curse of the law is the hand-writing against us, like the hand-writing on Belshazzar's wall. Cursed is every one who continues not in every thing. This was a hand-writing which was against us, and contrary to us; for it threatened our eternal ruin. This was removed when he redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, Gal_3:13. He cancelled the obligation for all who repent and believe. “Upon me be the curse, my father.” He vacated and disannulled the judgment which was against us. When he was nailed to the cross, the curse was as it were nailed to the cross. And our indwelling corruption is crucified with Christ, and by virtue of his cross. When we remember the dying of the Lord Jesus, and see him nailed to the cross, we should see the hand-writing against us taken out of the way. Or rather, 2. It must be understood of the ceremonial law, the hand-writing of ordinances, the ceremonial institutions or the law of commandments contained in ordinances (Eph_2:15), which was a yoke to the Jews and a partition-wall to the Gentiles...

Peter acknowledges Paul is hard to understand and his words are twisted, by the unlearned and unstable, to the destruction of souls.

2 Peter 3:15-16
15: And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16: As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Do we accept the twisting of Paul's words to teach something which contradicts the direct voice of God? (You knew I couldn't avoid mentioning my favorite verse.)

Malachi 4:4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

The point I want to make today is to examine the claim that God's Law is against us. It is true, the Law stands as a witness against us when we ignore it or refuse to obey.

How can we accept the slander of Satan against God's true purpose and character? God loves us. He has given His Law to show us His character and His love for us. God does not condemn us.

John 3:16-7
16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17: For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Our own actions condemn us when we reject His Law of Love.

John 3:18-21
18: He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19: And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20: For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21: But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

The Law shows us His love by the guidance it gives us to know the actions of those who practice His love. When sin increased, God gave us more detailed instruction to guide us. It is Satan who twists our perception of God's loving guidance to lead us from sin, into being against us.

We also need to practice and teach the Law based on the love of God, which He places in our hearts.

Our loving Saviour's sacrifice for us blots out the charges of sin against us, not His Law of Love which guides us to righteousness.

Do you recognize and practice the love found in God's Law?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-uh-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
