Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly sabbath. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord.

According to my understanding of the scriptures, today is the second annual sabbath at the end of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. One of the special practices of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is that nothing fermented or with leaven was to be eaten in this week.

Exodus 12:15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

I believe it is important to note that the words:

chomets (Strongs #02558)
1) vinegar
chametz (Strongs #02557)
1) the thing leavened, leavened bread
chamets (Strongs #02556)
1) to be leavened, be sour

Are identical except for vowel points. This means that the words are very closely related. This is one of the reasons that this statute can be associated with anything fermented.

It is informative to note that I have been told that the original scriptures didn't even have vowel points. This is why it is claimed that we do not know how to pronounce the name of God.

The scripture also states "ye shall put away leaven out of your houses"

I believe it is important to note that the words:

s@'or (Strongs #07603)
1) leaven
sha'ar (Strongs #07604)
1) to remain, be left over, be left behind

Are also identical except for vowel points. This statute can be associated with anything that is a culture for "leavening" of any type.

The leaven symbolically represents sin. Getting rid of the leaven is not easy and represents the difficulty of getting rid of the sin in our lives while we still live in a world filled with sin. I cannot help but wonder if this is symbolic of a special work that must be done at the end of time to clear sin from our lives in preparation for the sealing of the 144,000.

I have a problem which is probably not unique in that there are several adults in my home. Not all of these adults agree with my beliefs. This makes it difficult to live up to all the requirements of the statutes. I am sure that God understands our best efforts to follow His truth.

A similar difficulty occurs when other adults in a home do not practice the distinction of unclean flesh. This is especially difficult for those who truly follow the statutes because even clean flesh must be properly slaughtered to be acceptable. Modern slaughter techniques are not acceptable according to the statutes.

The statutes indicate that even surfaces touched by unclean or improperly slaughtered flesh become unclean.

Leviticus 11:32-36

And upon whatsoever [any] of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether [it be] any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel [it be], wherein [any] work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.

And every earthen vessel, whereinto [any] of them falleth, whatsoever [is] in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.

Of all meat which may be eaten, [that] on which [such] water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every [such] vessel shall be unclean.

And every [thing] whereupon [any part] of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; [whether it be] oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: [for] they [are] unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.

Nevertheless a fountain or pit, [wherein there is] plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.

When living in this world we are surrounded by sin and it is a constant struggle to "keep yourself unspotted from the world." Again, I am sure that God understands our best efforts to follow His will and leads us to following Him more closely.

May we all find peace and unity in the soon coming of IAUShUO (Ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.

Shabbat Shalom
