Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord.

Two additional readers have sent their own comments on this subject. This subject has aroused far more discussion than I ever anticipated. I expect that this will be the last that I will relate at this time on this subject.

I find it very interesting that the feasts are believed to be, by most, added at Sinai. But is this true? Genesis 1:14 "And Elohim said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons (mo-eds), and for days, and years:" This was at Creation along WITH the seventh-day Sabbath was it not?

Isaiah 14:13-14 "For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of Elohim: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation (mo-eds), in the sides of the north (in dark secret): I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High." When did this take place? Did Satan wait until the meeting at Mt. Sinai before deciding in his heart to usurp the holy days of Yahveh? No! He decided this at the beginning of the war. So (by two or three witnesses), they must have been established at Creation also.

Our Righteous Savior announced, "Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of YHVH, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are My feasts..." Leviticus 23:2 And He begins with the seventh-day Sabbath and continues (without a break) with the annual feasts. I also find it interesting that the annual feasts are total, seven. Notice the correlation and/or significance?

One can easily associate the sacrifices as part of and inseperatable from of the annual Sabbaths and overlook the sacrifices of the seventh-day Sabbath to justify their desire to reject the annual Sabbaths. But when one studies with a teachable, honest, heart one discerns that in the following texts the sacrifices are a separate issue, if mentioned at all.

The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt. Exodus 34:18

And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end. Exodus 34:22

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto Yahveh. Leviticus 23:34

Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before Yahveh thy Elohim in the place which He shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before Yahveh empty: Deut. 16:16

We can find texts to support any concept we wish to believe. But when we look at the whole picture the pieces of the puzzle will come together and those that do not fit will be rejected by the true in heart. Only those which find it difficult to surrender all to the Higher Authority find difficulties in embracing and rejoicing in the feasts of Yahveh.

In fact, unless we truly embrace and rejoice in the seventh-day Sabbath we are not keeping His Sabbath and all becomes a mote point. "If thou turn away thy foot from (walking in) the Sabbath, from doing thy (own) pleasure on My holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of Yahveh, honourable; and shalt honour Him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:" Isaiah 58:13

This is the only observance of His Sabbaths that are expectable and pleasing to Yahveh. To those who love Him and keep His commandments He says; For thus saith Yahveh unto the eunuchs (those formally defiled) that keep My Sabbaths, and choose the things that please Me, and take hold of My covenant; Even unto them will I give in Mine house and within My walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to Yahveh, to serve Him, and to love the name of Yahveh, to be His servants, every one that keepeth the Sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of My covenant; Isaiah 56:4-6

Like the Seventh-day Sabbath, it requires a sacrifice to surrender these days back to their Designer, to do His will and serve Him as He would have us do. Most will not be able to do this because it interferes with their own plans. And self, thus, interferes with the relationship one might have had with their Savior and Redeemer.

This may be why the truth about His divine institutions were not to be restored until the last days (PK p678, Act 3:21) The final conflict is to be over His law (DA p763), will we obey His statutes and judgments because we see the value of them and enjoy the blessings we receive from them and the honor we give to Him in the observance of them?...or will we, as nominal Adventists (EW 33), full of apathy (GC380) be blinded from their meaning and potential of having a deeper, more meaningful walk with our Divine Creator and Best Friend?

Like the Seventh-Day Sabbath, I believe the Feasts were also in place long before the sacrifices were instituted -- and, I believe, from Creation itself.

Genesis 1:14 (Contemporary English Version) God said, "I command lights to appear in the sky and to separate day from night and to show the time for seasons, special days, and years..."

Genesis 1:14 (New Life Version) Then God said, 'Let there be lights in the open space of the heavens to divide day from night. Let them tell the days and years and times of the year...'

Genesis 1:14 (Holman Christian Standard Bible) Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night. They will serve as signs for festivals and for days and years..." (x-ref w/ Ps. 104:19)

Lot Celebrating the Feast of Unleavened Bread? (approximately 600 years before the Exodus)

Genesis 19:3 (King James Version) And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.

Joseph Celebrating the Feast of Trumpets? (approximately 400 years before the Exodus)

Psalm 81:1-5 (King James Version) Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. (2) Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery. (3) Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. (4) For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob. (5) This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

The Feast of Tabernacles

It may be of some interest to note that, in Leviticus 23, the Feast of Tabernacles is not mentioned in association with any sacrifice by fire (quoted following). It also points out that the Feast of Tabernacles doesn't just point forward (at that time) to when the Saviour would tabernacle with His people at the time of the Great Sacrifice. This Feast also points backward to God's Hand in bringing His people out of the land of Egypt (out of sin) to dwell in booths with Him in the Wilderness. Likewise, this Feast points far forward to when God's Hand will bring His people out of this world (out of sin) to dwell in Heaven with Him. I believe all of the Feasts have this triple-pointing aspect and, thus, are "a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings" as a continual reminder of God's Hand in our lives -- past, present, and future. The "great accuser" (Satan) does not want us to have this continual reminder. This also demonstrates that the triple-pointing Feasts are NOT "shadowy types" -- and are not only typical, in their own right, but have also not yet been fully fulfilled!

Leviticus 23:39-43 (King James Version) Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. (40) And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days. (41) And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. (42) Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: (43) That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
