The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly sabbath. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord.

I had an epiphany this week. I was discussing with my mother the heartaches and emptiness of failed and troubled marriages. I expressed how these past few years I have felt closeness in marriage for the first time in my life.

I was thinking about the words of Paul for the Corinthian church:

12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
16 For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?
I Corinthians 7:12-16

I spoke a thought that came to my mind from the Holy Spirit.

True love and closeness does not take two people. It only takes one person that is absolutely committed to another. That is the love that God has for us.

It is true that there is great joy and fulfillment when love and closeness are reciprocated. True love and closeness does not require a return.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

I thought of how God loves us so much that the Son of God died even for those who deny and reject Him.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Our selfish human nature expects love and closeness to be reciprocated before we commit ourselves to deeper love and closeness. If we do not receive love and closeness in return then we will lose and withdraw our love. This is not true love. True love is unconditional even when not accepted and returned.

A deeper insight into the love of God for me, leads me to feel ashamed. Ashamed that I trust this love so little that I worry about what the future holds. My weak human mind is uplifted by the Holy Spirit. I realize that my future is in His hands with His great love for me. Only by losing sight of that love do I ever fear.

23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
Mark 9:23-24

With tears I have often prayed. Lord, I trust you. Help me with my lack of trust.

3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
Isaiah 26:3-4

Later I read this paragraph that jumped out at me as if it was written just for me.

Because we are the gift of His Father, and the reward of His work, Jesus loves us. He loves us as His children. Reader, He loves you. Heaven itself can bestow nothing greater, nothing better. Therefore trust. {DA 483.3}

Is your trust truly in Him or do you trust in the things of this earth for security?

May we all find peace and unity in the soon coming of IAUShUO (Ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.

Shabbat Shalom
