Dear Brothers and Sisters in
IAUA
(ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,
Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly sabbath. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord. As I have been pondering the meaning of offering oneself as a sacrifice to the Lord, the words of the song "Trust and Obey" have taken on a special meaning to me.
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But we never can prove the delights of His love
Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet.
I have seen that there are at least two parts to sacrifice. "What He says we will do, where He sends we will go". Obey His laws and follow His will. The "trust" is to follow Him even when the going gets rough. The "obey" is to obey His law, even when we do not completely understand. God has taken my wife and I down a very difficult path. We choose to follow His will. This requires a great deal of trust when the going gets rough. When the path ahead is not clear, just keep going. When the mists of uncertainty blot out even the sight of your own feet, just keep going. Trust means that even when you can't see where you are putting your foot down, just keep going. He is faithful and He has promised that He will guide. I have read Hebrews 12 several times in the last week.
Hebrews 12
The entire chapter has been very valuable reading for comfort and encouragement. Since I now have no earthly home, I have been switching over to web-based email. I have lost some email and addresses while switching. If you have written recently and I haven't responded, please don't be offended. I hope to be able to stay in touch and continue my newsletter but I don't know what the future holds. May we all find peace and unity in the soon coming of IAUShUO (Ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God. Shabbat Shalom
