Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly sabbath. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord.

This Sunday is Tabernacles sabbath. I am in the process of calculating the calendar for next year. I have also had some recent thoughts about calendar calculation that I will share with you next week.

I want to share with you a troubling email exchange with a newsletter reader.

I just got a copy of the revised mailing edition of "Holy History" (Disclaimer). I am going over it carefully because some of the people I talk to were complaining about some of what the book said.

I discovered that a page was added quoting Pam Benton stating that you can get an idea of the difference between statutes that remain and those that don't by the difference in the two Hebrew words used for "Statutes". I studied it very carefully and I do not see the pattern that is claimed to be there. I think it is a mistake to use that idea because it is being used by people as an excuse to dismiss the whole thing because of one inconclusive concept. People will of course use any excuse, if they don't really want to accept the statutes anyway.

I have made it my practice to study very carefully the concepts that I present to avoid saying anything marginal that can be a stumbling point. The core truth is rock solid and does not need any shaky supports. People love to add innovative and clever ideas to support the statutes but in their eagerness do not carefully research to make sure the ideas are rock solid.

They replied:

I did not have a problem with Pam Benton's concept on the statutes. I find it very informative to those that are deep searchers into God's Holy Word. Simply that the statutes that refer to the sacrifices are in the male gender. So, they point to the male (Bridegroom) antitype in which they are displaying as a shadow and would pass away when He paid the dowry (His Life) for the bride. The statutes which are to be kept by the "bride of Christ" are in the female gender and some of them have the qualifier, "a statute forever." This is obviously the church which is to be keeping these statutes until, and after the Bridegroom comes to take her home to His Father's house.

I am confused. I may not be a "deep searcher into God's Holy Word" but what I read in the Bible does not seem to match with the description you gave.

Strongs #H2706 From H2710; an enactment; hence an appointment (of time, space, quantity, labor or usage): - appointed, bound, commandment, convenient, custom, decree (-d), due, law, measure, X necessary, ordinance (-nary), portion, set time, statute, task.

https://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/words.pl?strongs=02706

Strongs #H2708 Feminine of H2706, and meaning substantially the same: - appointed, custom, manner, ordinance, site, statute.

https://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/words.pl?strongs=02708

Are you telling me that Strongs #H2706 represents uses that no longer apply? It is used in dozens of proof texts for the statutes including my favorite:

Malachi 4:4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes (#H2706) and judgments.

https://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/c.pl?book=Mal&chapter=4&verse=4&version=KJV

And are you telling me that Strongs #H2708 which applies to numerous sacrificial and temple rituals still applies.

Numbers 19:2 This is the ordinance (#H2708) of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:

https://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/c.pl?book=Num&chapter=19&verse=2&version=KJV

Ezekiel 43:18 And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; These are the ordinances (#H2708) of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon.

https://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/c.pl?book=Eze&chapter=43&verse=18&version=KJV

Ezekiel 46:14 And thou shalt prepare a meat offering for it every morning, the sixth part of an ephah, and the third part of an hin of oil, to temper with the fine flour; a meat offering continually by a perpetual ordinance (#H2708) unto the LORD.

Can you clarify this for me?

(I never heard back from them.)

I sincerely wish to avoid criticism and controversy. I also do not wish to judge anyone. I believe that it is very critical when dealing with a divisive and controversial subject such as the statutes and feasts to be very careful. I believe that it is very important for the presentation of the truth to be clear and unclouded with fanciful ideas when they contain elements of error. Those who are investigating the truth may be led to stumble.

Romans 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

May we all find peace and unity in the soon coming of IAUShUO (Ee-uh-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.

Shabbat Shalom,
