Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord. This is the fifth day of the twelfth month. It is three weeks and three days until the beginning of God's New Year (March 20). It is five weeks and four days until the first Unleavened Sabbath (April 3).

An e-mail from a reader crossed paths with my last newsletter.

I wish that each time a yearly Sabbath or Holy Day is coming, you would include information about this in your newsletter. This would help those of us who are not used to keeping those days in the way that you do. I have beliefs about how I personally would keep those days (through prayer and personal time with God, keeping in mind what He is doing in the sactuary in Heaven), but I cannot remember the time frames these days are; nor can I remember the prophetic significance each time (even though I know you include some of this on your webb site). It would help to have some of this included a week or so ahead of time in your newsletter.

_____

It was interesting that the topic of my last newsletter was God's calendar. The request is an excellent one that warms the heart of any true believer in all of God's laws. Therefore this newsletter will continue on the topic of the calendar. I am of course talking about God's calendar and not the Gregorian (Roman Catholic) calendar. You will notice that I will begin to note in my newsletter, the current date on God's calendar and the time to the next yearly Sabbath.

I need to remind my readers that some believe that the first month must begin after the spring equinox. I believe that only Passover must be after the equinox. This year the equinox falls between the first day of the first month and Passover. Therefore some will start the year a month later than I do this year.

I have on occasion been criticized (gently) for referring to the calendar followed by the whole world as the Roman Catholic calendar. It is officially known as the Gregorian calendar. It was named after a Roman Catholic pope, Gregory, who decreed that its definition should be followed by all. This calendar truly symbolizes the change of "times and laws". The true power of the Catholic church is demonstrated by its widespread use and especially the observance of the Catholic pagan holiday substitutes for God's holy days, the yearly Sabbaths.

Returning our focus to the true calendar, let us construct in our minds a model for understanding. The year begins in spring. The yearly Sabbaths come in two clusters, the three spring Sabbaths and six months later, the four fall Sabbaths.

All Sabbaths are observed as a day of rest from daily work. The Ten Commandments specifies this for the weekly Sabbath.

Exodus 20
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

The statutes give greater detail for the weekly Sabbath specifying that a holy convocation is also required.

Leviticus 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

The church has lost an important guide to Sabbath observance by not upholding the statutes and the teaching of a holy convocation as a vital part of God's law. Instead, a New Testament teaching by the apostle Paul is weakly upheld.

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

The statutes continue to outline the yearly Sabbaths specifying that a holy convocation is required.

Leviticus 23:4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

The times and specific observances of the yearly Sabbaths are described in the rest of Leviticus 23. The reading and study of this chapter is very important and a great exercise on the yearly Sabbaths. This is especially true in this age when there is rarely any place to find and meet with other true believers in all of God's law.

This is a summary of the yearly Sabbaths. Remember, since God's calendar follows the moon and the Gregorian calendar follows the sun, The Gregorian date is not the same every year. The yearly Sabbaths, except for Pentecost, are locked to the same day on God's calendar. Special observances and some of the special significance and fulfillment for each Sabbath is noted.

Spring Yearly Sabbaths

First Unleavened Sabbath
01-15 The fifteenth day of the first month
Tuesday, April 3, 2007

This day was spent by all Israelites at the city of Jerusalem. This is the yearly Sabbath (which was also a weekly Sabbath) when the Messiah rested in the tomb. He was crucified the day before and resurrected the day after. All true believers and followers of God's law eat bread made without yeast (unleavened) for this entire week.

Second Unleavened Sabbath
01-21 The twenty-first day of the first month
Monday, April 9, 2007

There does not appear to be any special past event associated with this day. There may be be a special fulfillment in the future.

Pentecost Sabbath
03-06 The sixth day of the third month
Wednesday, May 23, 2007

This day was spent by all Israelites at the city of Jerusalem. This is the yearly Sabbath (which was also a Sunday) when the Holy Spirit was poured out in special measure on the disciples after the resurrection.

Because the fifty day count to determine this day crosses two ends of the month, the exact day of the month depends on the number of days in those months. Some years it will fall on the fifth day of the month. In God's Sacred Calendar the number of days in a month depends on the orbit of the moon and is not fixed as it is in the popular Jewish calendar which is based on a fixed formula.

Fall Yearly Sabbaths

Trumpets Sabbath
07-01 The first day of the seventh month
Thursday, September 13, 2007

This is probably the day of the birth and baptism of the Messiah.

Atonement Sabbath
07-10 The tenth day of the seventh month
Saturday, September 22, 2007

The day for the yearly symbolic purging of sin from the earthly sanctuary. This is a day of fasting. This will probably be the day of the close of probation.

Tabernacles Sabbath
07-15 The fifteenth day of the seventh month
Thursday, September 27, 2007

This week was spent by all Israelites at the city of Jerusalem living in tabernacles which represents having no earthly home. This will probably be the day of the Second coming when the saints leave earth.

Last Day Sabbath
07-22 The twenty-second day of the seventh month
Thursday, October 4, 2007

This will probably be the day of the arrival of the saints in heaven. That will be a great feast. This might be referred to as the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

May we strive for peace and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-uh-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.

Shabbat Shalom,
