Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord. This is the 19th day of the twelfth month. It is one week and three days until the beginning of God's New Year (March 20). It is three weeks and four days until the first Unleavened Sabbath (April 3).

Don't forget that the events on God's calendar begin at sundown the day before a Gregorian calendar date. Therefore, sundown on March 19 is the start of the sacred New Year. I was disappointed that cloudy skies kept me from seeing the eclipse of the full moon which introduces this sacred year.

A little bit of astronomy background about God's celestial timekeepers. A normal eclipse of the moon occurs only at the full moon. During the eclipse the moon will turn red because of the light from the sun bending through the atmosphere of the earth. The moon turns red for the opposite reason that the sky is blue. An eclipse of the moon is possible at any full moon but does not always occur because they do not line up. A normal eclipse of the sun occurs only at the new moon. An eclipse of the sun is possible at any new moon but does not always occur because they do not line up.

A normal eclipse of the sun cannot occur within at least two weeks of an eclipse of the moon. You may have noticed that I used the word "normal". While contemplating these astronomical events I was reminded of some Bible verses.

Matthew 24:29-30
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Joel 2:30-31
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

I have been listening with great interest to the events going on in the religious world. The latest major project Operation Global Rain is causing a lot of excitement. It is interesting how they mention the significance of the Gregorian Catholic calendar date 07-07-07 but ignore God's Sacred calendar. It is interesting that they even talk about the removal of leaven but ignore the Unleavened Sabbath.

There is a lot of talk and focus on the importance of praying for the Holy Spirit. Prayer is indeed very important but that is only the beginning. Prayer needs to lead to a deeper study of God's Word. The first result of the work of the Holy Spirit is a deeper understanding of God's Word. The next result is a change in the life.

There is a lot of talk about revival but I keep looking for the evidences of reformation. The Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy are very clear that there will be great spiritual changes in our Christian experience at the time of the Latter Rain.

These changes do not come on suddenly but are the result of continuing study and preparation. It is important to note that Pentecost came after the disciples spent three and a half years under the Messiah's instruction as well as fifty days in serious heart searching after the crucifixion.

I will try to avoid sounding like a broken record with my constant emphasis that Malachi 4 makes clear that explicit things are going to be opened which are not yet widespread.

There is a growing sense of final events beginning to show signs all around us. There is a growing sense of expectation of events which are promised to occur rapidly.

Prophets and Kings
Chapter 51 - A Spiritual Revival

Christians should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise, and this preparation they should make by diligently studying the word of God and striving to conform their lives to its precepts. The tremendous issues of eternity demand of us something besides an imaginary religion, a religion of words and forms, where truth is kept in the outer court. God calls for a revival and a reformation. The words of the Bible and the Bible alone, should be heard from the pulpit. But the Bible has been robbed of its power, and the result is seen in a lowering of the tone of spiritual life. In many sermons of today there is not that divine manifestation which awakens the conscience and brings life to the soul. The hearers cannot say, "Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the Scriptures?" Luke 24:32. There are many who are crying out for the living God, longing for the divine presence. Let the word of God speak to the heart. Let those who have heard only tradition and human theories and maxims, hear the voice of Him who can renew the soul unto eternal life. {PK 626.1}

Testimonies for the Church Volume Eight
Section One - Present Opportunities
Our Responsibility

The world is a theater; the actors, its inhabitants, are preparing to act their part in the last great drama. With the great masses of mankind there is no unity, except as men confederate to accomplish their selfish purposes. God is looking on. His purposes in regard to His rebellious subjects will be fulfilled. The world has not been given into the hands of men, though God is permitting the elements of confusion and disorder to bear sway for a season. A power from beneath is working to bring about the last great scenes in the drama--Satan coming as Christ, and working with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in those who are binding themselves together in secret societies. Those who are yielding to the passion for confederation are working out the plans of the enemy. The cause will be followed by the effect. {8T 27.4}

Transgression has almost reached its limit. Confusion fills the world, and a great terror is soon to come upon human beings. The end is very near. We who know the truth should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise. {8T 28.1}

Are you ready?

May we strive for peace and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-uh-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.

Shabbat Shalom,
