Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-uh-oo-uh) our Father,
Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray that this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord. This is the 2nd day of the 4th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the year 6012 Anno Mundi. It is twelve weeks and two days until The Fall Sabbaths begin with the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month which is Trumpets Sabbath (Sunset on Sunday, August 31 on the 2008 Gregorian calendar). It is interesting to note that Monday September 1 is Labor Day which means almost everyone will be partially and unintentionally observing the Yearly Sabbath by not working. The book "Preparing for the End of Time" is finished and I have purchased a total of 12 copies so far. I have already given 6 of them to people who have expressed an interest in greater truth. The book is designed to start with anyone from the general Christian public, including to a limited extent non-Christians, and accelerate them to having an opportunity to hear the beginnings of the Fourth Angel's Message. My discussion with a follower of the Shepherd's Rod continues. I apologize that this newsletter is long but I wanted to quote the discussion in full. It is important to recognize the (what I see as) confusion taught by the Shepherd's Rod of focusing on prophecy without getting the (what I see as) correct "Present Truth". The old truths are all essential; new truth is not independent of the old, but an unfolding of it. It is only as the old truths are understood that we can comprehend the new. When Christ desired to open to His disciples the truth of His resurrection, He began "at Moses and all the prophets" and "expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself." Luke 24 : 27. But it is the light which shines in the fresh unfolding of truth that glorifies the old. He who rejects or neglects the new does not really possess the old. For him it loses its vital power and becomes but a lifeless form." Christ's Objects Lesson, p. 127. For us now living in this time of the end, the New Light means additional truths as the result of the inspired interpretations of all the prophecies of the Old Testament prophets and the book of Revelation. In regard to the Old Testament prophets we read : "FOR ALL THE PROPHETS AND THE LAW PROPHESIED UNTIL JOHN (THE BAPTIST)." Matthew 11 : 13. And then the servant of the Lord, Mrs. Ellen G. White said : "Never are we absent from the mind of God. God is our joy and our salvation. Each of the ancient prophets spoke less for their own time than for ours, so that their prophesying is in force for us." Selected Messages, Book 3, p. 338. Since God has only one church along the whole history of the world, then the same church of God living along the time of the end is called by it's prophetic name : The Laodicean Church, which is the Seventh-day Adventist Denomination. Since we are never absent from the mind of God, then through all the prophets of the Old Testament the Lord spoke to us predicting our fate and destiny to the salvation in this time of the end. Thus not only through the prophecy of Malachi chapter 4, but also through all the chapters, even through all the prophecies of the prophets the Lord is now speaking to us. Therefore, through the prophets of the time of the end (Mrs. Ellen G. White in her Spirit of Prophecy of the third angel's message of Revelation 14, and Bro. Victor T. Houteff in his Shepherd's Rod message of the angel of Revelation 18 : 1), the all prophecies of the prophets of old, each supplementing the other, in their messages, have now been provided us in the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, to meet their fulfillment in the Revelation 19 : 10 margin. Therefore, the true Seventh-day Adventists in this time of the end would be identified in the Revelation 12 : 17 and 19 : 10 in the following words : "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God (The Law), and have the testimony of Jesus Christ (The By Law or The Rules of Implementation of the Law)" "worship God : for the testimony of Jesus Christ is THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY." As all the prophecies have been addressed to us, then by the inspired interpretations of those prophecies in THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, we would have been provided with The Law as the Constitution and THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY as The By Law or The Rules of implementation of the Law. And as the message of Elijah is now presented us, we would have been again reminded to obey the Law of Moses (the Ten Commandments) as ever told us in the following words of Moses : "The secret things belong unto the Lord our God : but those things which are revealed (up to the time of the end) belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law." Deuteronomy 29 : 29. Now, regarding Elijah and his message of Malachi 4 : 5, he is factually the same messenger of God mentioned in Malachi 3 : 1, 2 : "Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me : and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in : behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of host. But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth?" The antitypical Elijah has been sent to prepare the way of deliverance for the Seventh-day Adventists before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. The full story of the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord will be supplemented in other prophecies, such as in Isaiah, in Ezekiel, etc. And the interpretations thereof will be found in THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY. Then may the Lord Himself open your eyes to see that the messenger of God has actually come. And this is the message by him to prepare us for to strive with all the power God has given us to be among the 144.000 at that glorious day; or else to be left without the seal or the mark of deliverance, to be slaughtered by the angels of God. Read Ezekiel chapter 9. Now is the time of the spiritual Revival and the spiritual Reformation, as prophesied by the message of Elijah, to be taken into our practical religion. This is the only way of preparation to be carried out among us, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord, which is to be great for the 144.000, but dreadful for those to be slaughtered. I have quoted for you herewith and article from Brother Houteff sermons entitled : THE REVIVAL AND REFORMATION CROWNED WITH THE PURIFICATION. _____ Quoting "Frank T. Clark": Thank you for your very carefully presented response. I see a sincerity and intensity which is admirable. I perceive that you see a faint glimpse of additional truth but not yet clearly. I understand the problem because I spent 50 years in personal study of the Bible and trained at SDA schools but I did not see the truth as has now become clear to me. An old retired SDA evangelist showed me things in the Bible and Ellen White I had seen but not understood or been taught before. I studied them intently and was shocked at what the Holy Spirit revealed to my understanding. I hope you will see, as I have seen, a clear "Present Truth" in the Bible that is often overlooked. It is my hope and expectation that you will study the Bible about this for yourself. It is my prayer that the Holy Spirit will guide you. You quote correctly that "there is a new development of truth" which "is not independent of the old, but an unfolding of it". You see prophecy and the modern spirit of prophecy as the source of that truth, which it is. The problem is not understanding what the prophecies and the modern spirit of prophecy are saying. This is what the modern spirit of prophecy says concerning "new light": "The question has been asked me, "Do you think that the Lord has any more light for us as a people?" I answer that he has light that is new to us, and yet it is precious old light that is to shine forth from the word of truth. We have only the glimmerings of the rays of the light that is yet to come to us. We are not making the most of the light which the Lord has already given us, and thus we fail to receive the increased light; we do not walk in light already shed upon us. {RH, June 3, 1890 par. 2} {1SM 401.2} We call ourselves commandment-keeping people, but we do not comprehend the exceeding breadth of the far-reaching principles of the law of God; we do not understand its sacred character. Many who claim to be teachers of the truth, have no real conception of what they are doing in teaching the law of God, because they do not have a living knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. {RH, June 3, 1890 par. 3} Ellen G. White, "The Darkness Comprehended It Not.", Review and Herald June 3, 1890 She says there is more in the "Law of God" we do not comprehend! What does that have to do with new light? They already observed the Ten Commandments, including the Sabbath. Where does this new light come from? "Said my guide, "There is much light yet to shine forth from the law of God and the gospel of righteousness. This message, understood in its true character, and proclaimed in the Spirit, will lighten the earth with its glory. The great decisive question is to be brought before all nations, tongues, and peoples. The closing work of the third angel's message will be attended with a power that will send the rays of the Sun of Righteousness into all the highways and byways of life, and decisions will be made for God as supreme Governor; His law will be looked upon as the rule of His government." {1888 166.1} Ellen G. White, To Brethren Assembled at General Conference, A Call to a Deeper Study of the Word, Minneapolis, Minnesota, November 1888 - Ms 15, 1888 Notice that the message is about the "law of God" and it will "lighten the earth with its glory" which I am sure you recognize as the Fourth Angel's Message. Rev 18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. Also notice that she mentions the "Sun of Righteousness" which you may recognize as the Third Elijah Message of Malachi 4. Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. We will know the true Elijah Message when it declares what is prophecied: Mal 4:4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. The "Law of Moses" is much more than the "Ten Commandments"! It is specifically described as "statutes and judgments". The "statutes" are also specifically described for us by Ellen White: "In consequence of continual transgression, the moral law was repeated in awful grandeur from Sinai. Christ gave to Moses religious precepts which were to govern the everyday life. These statutes were explicitly given to guard the ten commandments. They were not shadowy types to pass away with the death of Christ. They were to be binding upon man in every age as long as time should last. These commands were enforced by the power of the moral law, and they clearly and definitely explained that law." {RH, May 6, 1875 par. 10} {1BC 1104.6} {ST April 15, 1875} Ellen G. White, "The Law of God", Review and Herald, May 6, 1875 When we study, understand, and follow the Ten Commandments and the statutes there will indeed be a revival, a reformation, and a purification leading to the sealing of the 144,000.
