Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-uh-oo-uh) our Father,

Greetings in this week of preparation for the Feast of Unleavened Bread. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord. This is the 9th day of the 1st month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6013 Anno Mundi.

It is 5 days until the Spring Sabbaths begin with the evening of the 15th day of the 1st month which is the first Unleavened Bread Sabbath (Saturday, April 11 on the 2009 Gregorian calendar, beginning sunset on Friday, April 10). This year those who follow the Millerite Calendar determination agree with my understanding of the Calendar. The Jewish Calendar is two days earlier in the spring and one day in the fall.

_____

My wife and I are very excited to be making preparations for spending the week of the Unleavened Bread Sabbaths at Terra Bella, CA in fellowship with others who also believe in following all the Law of God including the part recorded by Moses. I hope you are able to find a like-minded group of believers to share the Spring Sabbaths.

The alternative Sabbath School which was meeting in Thompsonville has temporarily ceased meeting. When the class began several months ago with about 5 people it was meeting in homes. Even though I knew the people who started the group and discussed with them the desire for a more productive and open Sabbath School, I was not invited to their meetings for a couple of months.

Members of the group had expressed their concerns about the urgency of these End Times and the lack of Present Truth focus in the regular Sabbath Schools. They also desired a more open forum for discussion of Bible Truth than was acceptable in the regulated and monitored Sabbath School classes.

These individuals had previously encountered a lack of toleration for anything outside of a narrow scope defined by the church. Some had experienced disfellowship and others had experienced resistance and disapproval. They felt a need for open discussion in a small group setting.

Most of the people in the group had a copy of my book or knew of my studies in Present Truth. When I was invited to make presentations about my book the size of the group reached about 8 people. A group of this size was uncomfortable to squeeze into a home setting. At the same time the opportunity arose to meet in the Thompsonville Manna Restaurant.

Meeting in the restaurant was ideal since it provided comfortable seating for many and table space for Bibles. The location close to the church also made it highly desirable. A desire for more time led the class to meet at 9:00 and end by 10:30 with plenty of time to drive the short distance to attend the regular church services. One meeting was continued after church for two hours in the afternoon. Changing circumstances appear to have closed that opportunity.

There has been some discussion by the group leaders about meeting at the School across the parking lot from the church. The problem for the group is a concern about actions by the church to control or criticize the content of discussions either openly or indirectly. I have no idea how this will be resolved, particularly since I am not a leader in the group.

_____

There is a specific reason why I was prompted to write a newsletter today (Sunday). I received an Internet group notice by email yesterday (Sabbath). This group is an online collection of Adventists. The notice was drafted by the group manager who works closely with the General Conference promoting Internet outreach and evangelism. I have extracted the opening and closing sentences for your consideration.

_____

Subject: Announcement from Adventists Linked: Inspirational message for Holy Week on a PowerPoint presentation.

Two announcements for the group as we enter Holy Week.

...

Wishing all a pleasant Palm Sunday, a Good Friday and a Happy Easter.

_____

I have to confess, I was shocked. I shouldn't have been. I have seen many times the growing intimacy between the Adventist Church and the Catholic Church. Notice I didn't say Seventh-day Adventist Church. The church has increasingly taken steps to make itself known and promoted as the "Adventist Church". Isn't that interesting? I assume you understand the significance of this action and have seen the trend yourself.

The terms "Holy Week", "Palm Sunday", "Good Friday", "Easter", and may I add "Christmas" are part of the lexicon and practice of the Catholic Church. In my opinion, they do not belong in the lexicon and practice of a person observing these Bible verse:

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Leviticus 20:23 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

Are you coming out of Babylon or becoming cozy with concepts promoted by the Beast?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-uh-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
