Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-uh-oo-uh) our Father, Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of the Lord. This is the 17th day of the 4th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6013 Anno Mundi. It is 10 weeks and one day until the Fall Sabbaths begin with Trumpets Sabbath on the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month (Sunday, September 20 on the 2009 Gregorian calendar, beginning sunset on Saturday, September 19). This year, those who follow the Millerite Calendar determination agree with my understanding of the Gregorian Calendar dates for God's Sacred Calendar. The dates on the apostate Jewish Calendar are two days earlier in the spring and one day early in the fall. _____ Those who are watching current events with a knowledge of the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy are led by the Holy Spirit to see the pattern of events leading to destruction. The time is very short. The end is very near. 1 Thessalonians 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. There are many who speak smooth things in the world leading people into complacency. Unfortunately, there are also those in the church who promote complacency toward the practice of God's Law, which is a characteristic of the Laodicean church. There is a temptation to focus on economic or political movements. There is a danger of making worldy plans to prepare for the coming disasters. The primary preparation we must make is a spiritual preparation. Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Ellen G. White, Prophets and Kings, Chap. 51 - A Spiritual Revival. "Christians should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise, and this preparation they should make by diligently studying the word of God and striving to conform their lives to its precepts. The tremendous issues of eternity demand of us something besides an imaginary religion, a religion of words and forms, where truth is kept in the outer court. God calls for a revival and a reformation. The words of the Bible and the Bible alone, should be heard from the pulpit. But the Bible has been robbed of its power, and the result is seen in a lowering of the tone of spiritual life. In many sermons of today there is not that divine manifestation which awakens the conscience and brings life to the soul. The hearers cannot say, "Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the Scriptures?" Luke 24:32. There are many who are crying out for the living God, longing for the divine presence. Let the word of God speak to the heart. Let those who have heard only tradition and human theories and maxims, hear the voice of Him who can renew the soul unto eternal life." {PK 626.1} We must not get caught up in the world and its purposes but prepare our hearts for His guidance when the world is confronted by an overwhelming surprise. Remember to avoid the delusion, when reading the word commandments, of thinking there are only ten. Ellen G. The actors, the inhabitants of the world, are preparing to act their part in the last great drama. God is lost sight of. There is no unity of purpose, except as parties of men confederate to gain their ends. God is looking on. His purposes in regard to his rebellious subjects will be fulfilled. The world has not been given into the hands of men, though God is permitting the elements of confusion and disorder to bear sway for a season. A power from beneath is working to bring about the last great scenes in the drama,--Satan coming as Christ, and working with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in those who are binding themselves together in secret societies. Those who are yielding to the passion for confederation are working out the plans of the enemy. The cause will be followed by the effect." {BTS, February 1, 1903 par. 3} {8T 27.4} "Transgression has almost reached its limit. Confusion fills the world, and a great terror is soon to come upon human beings. And the end is very near. We who know the truth should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise." {BTS, February 1, 1903 par. 4} {8T 28.1} "God permits men to work out the purposes he would have saved them from had they kept his commandments. When in the face of light and evidence, they refuse to obey, they must reap the harvest of the seed they have sown. "Many shall be purified, and made white and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand." The wicked have chosen Satan as their leader. Under his control the wonderful faculties of the mind are used to construct agencies of destruction. God has given the human mind great power, power to show that the Creator has endowed man with ability to do a great work against the enemy of all righteousness, power to show what victories may be gained in the conflict against evil. To those who fulfill God's purpose, for them will be spoken the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." The human machinery has been used to do a work that is a blessing to humanity; and God is glorified. {BTS, February 1, 1903 par. 5} We need to prepare ourselves for the spiritual battle in progress. We need to follow all of God's guidance for our lives so that we may be prepared for the end. We need to lay aside our burdens and cares of this world. We need to adopt a humility which does not seek its own way. We need to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Time is getting very short. Are you enjoying the "Peace and Safety" of this world or are you preparing for "Sudden Destruction"? I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-uh-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God. Frank T.
