Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-uh-oo-uh) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 23rd day of the 5th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6013 Anno Mundi.

It is 5 weeks and one day until the Fall Sabbaths begin with Trumpets Sabbath on the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month (Sunday, September 20 on the 2009 Gregorian calendar, beginning sunset on Saturday, September 19).

This year, those who follow the Millerite Calendar determination agree with my understanding of the Gregorian Calendar dates for God's Sacred Calendar. The dates on the apostate Jewish Calendar are two days earlier in the spring and one day early in the fall.

I am pretty excited today. I received a proof copy of my new book "God's Sacred Calendar" last night. Everything came together reasonably well. This book is now available through several printers for those who might be interested.

I am also excited because in seven weeks I will again have the opportunity to unite with fellow believers in all of God's Law and celebrate God's holy convocation of Tabernacles. My flight is booked and reservations made. Now I depend on God to hold back the winds of strife just a little longer to allow us a safe trip.

Time is getting short my friends. The signs of ever increasing strife are happening every day. Just watching the weather is thrilling to those who are sensitive to what is coming. Increasing talk of unprecedented disasters, thousand year flood levels, record setting temperatures, startling seasonal disruptions, and much more.

Laodicea! Are your eyes open? Do your ears understand? Are you awake?

Daniel 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

I was discussing the Sacred Name of God with a new friend and I was asked a very interesting and insightful question. I don't remember the exact words but the thought was something like this.

What is the value of using the Sacred Name and trying to be correct about the name you use?

It is my habit to think very carefully about what I say. My thinking method is also very thorough and therefore slow compared to others who seem to speak quickly without thinking at all. I was trying to distill a single tightly stated reason which would be the ultimate purpose for using the Sacred Name.

My pause to think left space for them to offer suggestions. Did I think it provided special spiritual power? Did I believe it gave me greater influence or association with God? Was the purpose to feel closer to God?

I finally stated what I decided was the most concise and important single reason. Respect! This is similar to the Biblical term "fear" which is often mentioned in reference to our relationship to God.

Revelation 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

I offered several examples of what I meant.

When people come from a foreign country with names that are different and difficult to pronounce, they often adopt or are assigned names more comfortable to the American ear and lips. I consider this inconsiderate and disrespectful. I have always done my best to learn and remember their true name. This courtesy, consideration, and respect has always been openly appreciated.

Does my Heavenly Father deserve any less?

Imagine my embarrassment when I introduce my wife to someone and sometimes forget to mention her name and only describe her as "my wife". Sometimes I even forget to introduce her at all. Yet we introduce God to others as simply "my Lord" which is not His name. Or we refer to the Saviour as "Jesus" which is not His Name. Proper names are not subject to translation. We learn the proper names of political representatives from other countries. What about the King of Kings?

If you went to a foreign country and they refused to use your name always calling you "the American" or referred to you by some name of their own choosing, what would you think? You may be gracious and not say anything. God is very gracious also but I think we presume too much.

The myth, or to be more honest, the lie, which says we don't know His true name or how to pronounce it is sadly hollow to anyone who can read and takes the time to study history and look at Strong's Dictionary. Satan is very successful at blinding us to this subject. An educated and outspoken teacher of the Law of Moses, which takes a lot of determination and perseverance, once told me something disturbing. "We have already discussed the subject of the Sacred Name and we have all the information we need." Maybe I was out of place trying to suggest there was more from my uneducated studies. Maybe this is a contention that is best avoided.

I am making a simple modification to the wording of the King James Version of the Bible in the following quotes. I am removing the word "LORD", where used as a translation of the name of God known as the Tetragrammaton. I am substituting the word IAUA, which is suggested by my studies as an appropriate pronounceable representation from the Latin alphabet of the original Hebrew script.

What is the example of Abraham?

Genesis 12:8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto IAUA, and called upon the name of IAUA.

What is the example of Isaac?

Genesis 26:25 And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of IAUA, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac's servants digged a well.

What does God say?

Exodus 3:15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, IAUA God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

Examine the evidence. What do you say?

Have you ever deeply meditated on the meaning of the Third Commandment? What do these words mean when someone refuses to use His name. How does this apply when we don't even know His name?

Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of IAUA thy God in vain; for IAUA will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

How does this verse apply when we don't even want to know His name?

II Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Are you willing to show God the respect He deserves by doing your best to learn and use His personal name?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-uh-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
