The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this first day of the week. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 2nd day of the 3rd month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6014 Anno Mundi.

It is 4 days until Pentecost Sabbath on the evening of the 6th day of the 3rd month (Thursday, May 20 on the 2010 Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Wednesday, May 19th).

This year, those who follow the Millerite Calendar determination will be one month later than my research has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar. The dates on the Jewish Calendar are one day earlier in the spring and one day early in the fall.

The Internet has been ablaze with messages streaming back and forth. The struggles with Calendar disagreement continue for my Messianic/Adventist brother. I am awake and writing to you at 3AM because of anguish over this situation. I have been deeply affected myself in many ways by this struggle. I have had to break communication with my own brother because of struggles over calendar issues.

My empathy with this brother goes deep. I have never told him (he will know now) but he was instrumental in a significant part of my growth into a total restitution of all truth. He was the one who awakened my recognition of the validity of the tassels when it was severely criticized by other feast keepers.

This is another recent email on which I was copied. I did a little editing to shorten the quotes to the emphasized point.

I have studied calendar carefully for about 19 years now since the spring of 1992. Exactly what constitutes a new moon ( whether the moon is used to regulate the sabbath or not at all, whether it is the dark, crescent in Jerusalem or as seen in whatever region of the earth you happen to live in) comes down to the individuals opinion. I have determined that there is no absolute truth to be found in Scripture alone on these calendar issues.

Because of this I can only believe that the God of heaven, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob allowed it to be this way so that the entire planet would be forced to pay attention to the Jewish people that have been scattered all over the globe for thousands of years and against all odds have survived the persecutions and holocausts.

Maybe something will happen in the near future that will make it overwhelmingly evident what days are the correct days to observe as holy but as it stands the endless discussions concerning calendar have been quite fruitless to say the least and I do not say this because I'm trying to discourage anyone from studying the Scripture and especially the calendar, I say this because I personally can see that there is not one person or group that I have studied with that can produce an overwhelming amount of evidence from Scripture alone that their way of reckoning Holy time is better than the Orthodox Jews.

Every person you talk to or study with about calendar can prove what they believe including you and I. It all sounds good when presented.

SO, with that said, my official position is that if we are all entitled to our opinion then so are the modern Orthodox Jews. For this reason I choose to go by the current Orthodox Jewish calendar until further notice. I have decided to surrender to the Rabbi's and the Talmud/Mishna/Gemara concerning calendar issues until further notice. They have been debating these calendar issues for thousands of years and when God makes it abundantly clear that they are dead wrong (which He has not done yet. no. what you consider to be crystal clear evidence is not so clear to me) I will step with rapidity and joy into the time schedule that God Almighty commands me to follow.

There are two exception to the Orthodox Jewish calendar that I have incorporated into my personal faith. One is to always celebrate Passover somewhere between March 15th and April 15th and the second is to perform the ordinance of humility (foot washing) with those that are willing to join me. I plan to celebrate Passover one month earlier than Orthodox Jews in 2011 simply because of the quotes from Sister White that teach that the time of the Passover corresponds to the close of March or the beginning of April. The Orthodox Jews will be celebrating Passover on the 19th of April and this falls outside of the time window put forth by the inspired writings of Ellen G. White quoted below.

"The time of the Passover corresponded to the close of March or the beginning of April..." {DA 75.2}

"The first of these festivals, the Passover, the feast of unleavened bread, occurred in Abib, the first month of the Jewish year, corresponding to the last of March and the beginning of April."{PP 537.3}

I plan to celebrate the first 2011 Seder on March 19th at sunset. Anyone wishing to join me is welcome to contact me so we can make arrangements. This does not mean that I will not join another group one month later for second Passover. Most likely I will enjoy another Passover meal with one group or another on April 16th at sunset or whenever the group sees fit.

Shalom

My response:

Thank you so much for including me on this email.

I read this email with sadness and sympathy. I well understand the frustration and desire to understand the calendar as well as the seemingly never-ending disputes about this or that particular of calendar determination. Be of good courage my brother. I know God sympathizes also. He is deeply concerned about this issue but is completely willing to honor the honest sincerity of the heart to follow His will.

I have only studied this issue for seven years but I feel blessed I have experienced only a little frustration because I clung to the belief God understands and will guide. I have been haunted and despaired by the differences of understanding because I know this issue is vital to proper worship of God and the total restitution of all God has commanded.

I can see some truth in your belief God does not make this plain to draw attention to the surviving Jewish people but I see deeper spiritual issues also. First, I believe this hidden truth emphasizes the command for a "holy convocation" because it is only by drawing together and studying together we can learn truth and be preserved from delusion. It is not right or proper for a person to draw away from the body of believers.

Secondly, I believe this hidden truth emphasizes the command to search the scriptures. It is only by the deepest, most careful, and prayerful searching with the guidance of the Holy Spirit that one can hope to feel confident in the arm of God. The Bible alone is the Word of truth. Do not trust any man or man's tradition to be the source of truth. Men can lead us to truth but depend on God, His Word, and the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth.

Jeremiah 17:5-10
5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Thank you immensely for those quotes from Ellen G. White. These quotes expose the lie added to some of her writings by the editors which stated the first day of the first month of the new year was to be after the equinox. She clearly indicates otherwise without criticizing, condemning, or openly exposing the Millerite error.

I would suggest you reconsider the arbitrary choice of March 15 as the significant date. We have significant guidance in this scripture:

Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs (signals), and for seasons (appointed times), and for days, and years:

I believe the test of yearly Sabbath observance is just as important as weekly Sabbath observance to avoid the mark of the beast at the end of time.

Be at peace,

Are you keeping the faith in the struggle to understand the deepest details of God's Word?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
