Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Home / Archives

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 16th day of the 11th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6014 Anno Mundi.

The New Year begins with the Spring Sabbaths in 12 weeks and 3 days with the first Sabbath of Unleavened Bread on the evening of the 15th day of the 1st month (Tuesday, April 19th on the 2011 Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Monday, April 18th).

An amazing thing occurs in the Gregorian Calendar years of both 2011 and 2012. Those who follow the Millerite Calendar and the Jewish Calendar agree with what my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar!

A response from an ongoing discussion with a visitor to the web site. I have placed my response between quotes from the email:

"Your answer completely satisfies my curiosity. I also read your [denominational] leader's book after the letter to you and that explained much about the "structural" procedures [of rebaptism]."

"I am just comparing different theologies and SDA theology in general is similar to other strict denominations of Christian and non-christian beliefs, the striking similarity with LDS makes me really evaluate my own faith (I am not of any particular denomination) and see what am I doing right."

Dear Brother,

Thank you for continuing our correspondence.

Superficially, there is a lot of similarity between SDA and other denominations. There are very specific and important differences. We can discuss this later, if you like.

"Do your leaders believe that Ellen White was an exception?"

Exception? Ellen White was certainly distinct but in essentially only two points. She was "chosen" by God for a specific task and she was determined to follow God and perform to her calling. You might call this committed. Many will place her on a pedestal but this is not appropriate by her own words and those of the Bible.

"Was she the only person "gifted" to operate in her spiritual experiences, or was it passed on to other faithful?"

She was "gifted" only in that when originally chosen she followed without question. Her spiritual experience was not particularly different in the beginning but grew with experience as it will for anyone who is committed to following God. Other faithful and committed individuals have and will serve God in a mighty though different way.

"For example, what is different between you personally and Ellen G White?"

Not much. She was chosen for a particular task and followed. God has chosen me for a particular task and I follow.

1Co 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
1Co 12:29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
1Co 12:30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

The entire chapter is valuable reading on this point.

Her specific experience gave her a certain insight from God which is greater than my own in a general sense. She spent many committed years, about 60, developing and practicing her experience. I have only been fully committed for the last seven years or so. She received direct, distinct, personally audible and visual visions and dreams from God. I am inspired by the Holy Spirit in a general way as are many but have not had direct, distinct visions or dreams. I believe there will be many in the near future who will have similar dreams and visions.

"Do you dream to once reach her level of spirituality and start operating in the same level or is it all - she was special and look what a super gift she was, look what she said and what she did?"

I have served and will serve God just as she did according to God's call on my life and my own developing experience. The exact methods used by God in any person's life are according to His choice. By the grace of God, Ellen had a large number of people who listened to what she had to say and followed. There were also many who did not. I do not yet have a large number of people who listen to what I say.

"If you have additional personal insight on this, please share."

"Thanks"

Continuing response and again I have placed my response between quotes from the email:

"Thanks for all the answers you are giving, they do explain a lot."

"From your explanation i see that you and SDA leaders do treat her as "chosen" - very defining word, because that separates her not only from the world, which would be normal and proper, but it separates her from the faithful crowd as well.. which definitely puts your faith into a category that divides the church into "priests" and "followers" - in fact your statement that not many follow you do confirm that. Now, notice, i am not judging, I am just exploring and learning about different religions and denominations."

I have given careful thought to your email. I don't believe your conclusion matches the intent of what I was saying. Perhaps I was not clear. I will acknowledge there are many people in the SDA church who would readily accept your characterization of "priests" and "followers". I do not believe this at all. I hope I can explain in an understandable way. The difficulty is because when talking about religion, there develops a special language which is based on years of traditions and understandings which are significantly different between different denominations.

The first concept which is at the basis of my understanding which may not directly match with your understanding is this. God is the absolute authority with unimagined power and glory. Therefore we are His "servants" whom He has adopted as His children. While we struggle in the controversy between good and evil in this world, we have specific purposes He has given us. Those who accept and follow His authority do what He asks and assigns us to do. I refer back to I Corinthians 12 previously mentioned:

1Co 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
1Co 12:5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
1Co 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
1Co 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
1Co 12:8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
1Co 12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
1Co 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
1Co 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Notice particularly verse 11, the Spirit gives to each the gifts He chooses. This is not a cover up but a Biblical fact. Also note we are all priests in that we serve Him.

Exo 19:6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

When we forget Him and His law we lose our priesthood.

Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

"Now, I did not see a clear answer when you stated that "The exact methods used by God in any person's life are according to His choice." - that leads me to believe that every individual in the SDA has a different method?"

God has a set of gifts and purposes shared among those who follow His will. All are similar to some other and all are different from some of the others.

"Is that really the case, or you are just trying to "cover up" the "special-ness" of Ellen G White by saying "we all have different ministry"?

Answered.

"If you say that she was just like you, that is not true, because she was not, she was extremely influential and effective in the church."

The service each one performs is the same service to God. The results of each action may not be the same as God guides. My story is not finished yet.

"If you say she was super special and her experience is super selective and is attributed to her 60 years of experience, my understanding would be that you are excluding yourself from such an experience and basically you have no hope to reach that level? Is that true? Is that what you are saying?"

I never said and do not believe she was "super". Her function and result are past and finished. Mine is not yet finished and the result is in God's hands.

"Or are you instead saying that God is so random at giving out these super selective gifts to the point of being respecter of persons? Is God's Lottery then a game of Chance?"

God is not chance or random. He has a plan.

"Or is there a defined plan (weather it's defined in books or in your heart is not my question) - is there a defined path that all of us should go for and how many examples do you have in the SDA to back that up? If we have no many examples, the statement holds no truth.. without examples it's just empty theory."

Each of us has a part in God's plan. The Bible is full of examples. SDA is a very recent manifestation. The full story is not yet clear but will be clear looking back.

"Please, advise on as many questions I ask as possible."

"Thanks"

_____

Later I realized there was a discrepancy between my statement: "I do not yet have a large number of people who listen to what I say." and the response: "your statement that not many follow you do confirm that."

I do not wish for people to "follow" me. We all follow our Redeemer and none other. I seek only to guide people to a closer walk with our Saviour by encouraging greater Bible study and less dependence on following others, including me.

Isaiah 2:22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?

Are you one of the "called" and "chosen" who obey, or a "follower" of man?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of Iaushua (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
