Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father, Yesterday, 3ABN had a special live presentation on Saturday October 22 celebrating the 167'th anniversary of the "Great Expectation". They correctly observed that October 22, 1844 was a day of great expectation and it was October 23, 1844, which was the day of the "Great Disappointment". After the program, I observed to my wife, it was a good presentation of historical background. During my night meditations, the Holy Spirit brought to my mind the realization there was a serious problem I had not noted. While the presenter correctly acknowledged the Millerite expectation was known as the "Seventh Month" movement, they failed to make a solid connection to the Day of Atonement on God's Sacred Calendar intended by the Millerites. 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. Acts 17:30-31 It was sad to see them celebrating the anniversary of a day intended to be from God's Sacred Calendar on a day from the Roman Catholic Gregorian Calendar. The SDA denomination has been given so much light but they have not worked to improve their understanding. They have not accepted New Light on Old Truth. 20 And so he that had received five talents (great knowledge) came and brought other five talents (great understanding), saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. 21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:20-21 Those who would lead the people of God have a great responsibility. 48 ... For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: ... Luke 12:48 The proper day for an anniversary program would have been two weeks earlier on the actual Day of Atonement. It is sad how the recognition/worship of the Roman Catholic Gregorian Calendar has permeated our denomination instead of God's Sacred Calendar. It is also sad to see the recognition/worship of Roman Catholic Holy Days instead of God's Holy Days. There is much more I could say but I will leave the rest to your own meditation. Will God be able to greet your diligent study of His word with a "Well done, thou good and faithful servant" or must He wink at your ignorance? I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God. Frank T.
