Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 24th day of the 11th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6015 Anno Mundi.

It is 7 weeks and 1 day until the new year begins with the Spring yearly Sabbaths. The first Unleavened Bread yearly Sabbath begins as always the evening of the 15th day of the 1st month (Sabbath, April 7th on the 2012 Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Friday, April 6th). This year the day of the week will be the same as it was in the year IAUShUO was crucified on Golgotha.

An amazing thing occurs in the Gregorian Calendar years of both 2011 and 2012. Those who follow the Millerite Calendar and the Jewish Calendar agree with the dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar!

The LinkedIn discussion from last week continues discussing issues of disfellowship.

Lynda Karr • You're right, Frank, I only mentioned, rather than adding the detail and nuance for, the issue as an aside for people who wonder how the controversies over the importance of SDA church membership arise. Like you, I feel that they'll have to disfellowship me rather than for me to leave voluntarily (although the incident originally described in this discussion was an unabashed, illegal, maybe immoral essential disfellowshipping of the victim without the local church's assent), but as I see other Sabbath-keeping churches arising around me, the importance of REAL revival and reformation of the SDA church, instead of just lip-service, becomes ever more urgent; our leaders need to walk the talk . . . Looking forward to your newsletter!

Frank T. Clark • Lynda, I agree, it was the worst kind of disfellowship. In a proper disfellowship the person is still allowed to come to church, if they choose. Unfortunately I have seen many disfellowships where they treat the person as worse than a non-believer and ignore the words of Jesus.

Mat 18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

We seek to love and include the non-believer (heathen or publican) but often those who are disfellowshipped are shunned. Strange reaction when you consider carefully what the Saviour said.

Yes! We need REAL revival and REAL reformation as promised to come in Malachi 4:4-5. It is sad so many ignore verse 4 and concentrate on a shallow interpretation of verse 6....

First installment of the newsletter emailed and on the website.

Mario Petrovalle • Any member who is unfairly disfellowshipped has the right to appeal to the conference for reinstatement (Church Manual, page 67), my friend was never given a chance to defend himself against the false charges. He could not use this CM appeal procedure because he was NOT disfellowshipped by the church. It was the pastor went to the police without going to the church, he tried to have my friend arrested twice. I think it was the power of God that prevented that from happening. This is the worst injustice to a member that I have seen and I'm still amazed that the church leaders would do nothing about it.

I received an email response to the last newsletter by the individual who had been disfellowshipped defending the idea of classifying the Seventh-day Adventist denomination as Babylon using some interesting EGW quotes. Part of their response:

If I clearly understand that the "ship" relates not to the "denomination," but rather the message the "denomination" was to carry to the world we might be better to understand what is to go through. In 8T pp. 247-251 she is writing to Seventh-day Adventists and she states, "In the balances of the santuary the seventh-day Adventist church is to be weighed." {8t, p. 247.2} this to identify who the letter is written to. And as you continue to read you will find other gems that may make you realize that the message can not be carried by the SDA church any longer unless they repent and follow their "First Love." However, this may not be a direct quote of becoming Babylon, but if Babylon is a harlot is relates the idea: "Who can truthfully say: "Our gold is tried in the fire; our garments are unspotted by the world"? I saw our Instructor pointing to the garments of so-called righteousness. Stripping them off, He laid bare the defilement beneath. Then He said to me: "Can you not see how they have pretentiously covered up their defilement and rottenness of character? 'How is the faithful city become an harlot!' My Father's house is made a house of merchandise, a place whence the divine presence and glory have departed! For this cause there is weakness, and strength is lacking." {8T 250.2}

"God has a church. It is not the great cathedral, neither is it the national establishment, neither is it the various denominations; it is the people who love God and keep His commandments. "Where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them." Where Christ is, even among the humble few, this is Christ's church, for the presence of the High and Holy One who inhabiteth eternity can alone constitute a church. Where two or three are present who love and obey the commandments of God, Jesus there presides, let it be in the desolate place of the earth, in the wilderness, in the city, [or] enclosed in prison walls. The glory of God has penetrated the prison walls, flooding with glorious beams of heavenly light the darkest dungeon. His saints may suffer, but their sufferings will, like the apostles' of old, spread their faith and win souls to Christ and glorify His holy name. The bitterest opposition expressed by those who hate God's great moral standard of righteousness should not and will not shake the steadfast soul who trusts fully in God." {17MR 81.4}

I responded:

I am not sure if we are disagreeing or splitting the meaning of words.

I am sure the trauma of being rejected by the denomination and disfellowshipped for struggling to define beliefs has left a very raw spot in your soul at this time. I know the pain of disfellowship, especially under the cloud of confusion, misrepresentation, and callousness. God knows your heart and you can rest assured His love has never changed.

First, I need to observe it is disingenuous to attempt to separate the message from the denomination which has proclaimed the message no matter what the faults and failings of the leaders and members of the denomination. This is clearly described by the excellent quote you provided which indicts the Seventh-day Adventist denomination for its failings. We know those failings all too well.

We can identify three distinct groups in this dispute. On the right hand we find those who see the "Holy Seventh-day Adventist Church" as above reproach and nearly infallible because it champions the weekly Sabbath and the Three Angels Message. On the left we see those who follow "Babylon" and its many apostasies such as Sunday worship. In the middle we see those who turn away from the complete apostasy of "Babylon" and recognize the failings of the SDA denomination but continue to struggle for truth within the limitations of the denomination.

God continues to work with us and all our failings with compassion, forgiveness, and love. He asks us to be like Him. I believe we must continue to work with the denomination and all its failings with the same compassion, forgiveness, and love. It was not mere chance which caused our Saviour to recommend a prayer with the words, "Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us."

Is it fair to group the denomination which champions the Sabbath, despite the denominations many failings, with the complete apostasy of "Babylon"? My answer is "NO!". Is reform needed? YES! In humility, I submit to God's leading and patience with me to support the only denomination standing for truth no matter the shortcomings. I have seen splinter groups claiming to be following more truth pull away from the body and fall into confusion, deception, and disrepute. This does not make any sense to me. It does not make any sense to Paul and it does not make any sense to EGW. You have the right to decide what makes sense to you. Seek the face of God and He will see you through. Follow the Spirit of Truth, He will guide you into all truth.

Is your heart guided by forgiveness and humility or self-righteousness and pride?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
