Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 19th day of the 7th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6016 Anno Mundi.

The fall holy day season concludes with Last Day Sabbath in three days starting the evening of the 22nd day of the 7th month (Monday, October 8th on the 2012, Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Sunday, October 7th).

An amazing thing occurs in the Gregorian Calendar years of both 2011 and 2012. Those who follow the Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) and the Jewish Calendar agree with the Spring Passover Rule dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar!

It has come to my attention the Karaite Calendar determination has placed The Fall Sabbaths a day later than others. This is probably because they use predicted visual sighting rules which can be very arbitrary. Perhaps the Karaites simply do not want to agree with the Calculated Rabbinical Calendar.

Continuing a transcript of the discussion I started on LinkedIN. I believe the contents of the discussion are valuable to share with you.

Joe Morrato • I agree with Terry that there will not be one specific area that causes the shaking; but I believe there will be one general area of contention that will bring about the shaking; and that is "are we saved by the law or saved by grace?" I contribute to several SDA forums; and almost every theological thread eventually evolves (or devolves) to this subject. It gets really heated many times with much judgement and condemnation passed in both directions.

A while back, I was so upset over the acrimonious dialog that I was ready to leave the church, until a good friend directed me back to the 28 Fundamentals of the Church. I re-studied those; and discovered that I was in full agreement with them AS THEY WERE WRITTEN on www.adventist.org/beliefs/fundamental/index.html; but not how they are practiced by some churches or subgroups within a church. Some take them way beyond how they are written into "Shiite" legalism; and some pick and choose which ones to believe and which ones to throw out.

If anyone reading this is having issues with how the Fundamentals are being applied in your own church, I highly recommend going to the SDA website given above; and studying them with no preconceived notions or assumptions. It was a blessing for me; and renewed my faith.

Robin Willison • Joe, I am sorry you have felt like leaving this group of people called Seventh-day Adventists, but as you said, we need to be saved by grace and not by law. This means that the One we are looking to is our loving God, not to sinful man, for direction. You must join or leave according to what you are SURE He wishes, not according to how you are reacting to what you are facing. To not be shaken means that we are founded on the Rock, and cannot be moved from that foundation. We are kept there by the grace of God, not by our own efforts.

If you feel the people you are corresponding with are away from the truth, perhaps He wants you to assert His truth to them. Then you have done your part. The rest is up to the Holy Spirit to work on hearts. But there are always some we can agree with.

Have courage and bring everything to our Lord for His determination. Let us be like Moses with whom the Lord spoke to face to face (Deuteronomy 34:10). How did this happen? He took every perplexity to the Lord immediately. For example: "And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly (who were murmuring against God) unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them. And the LORD spake unto Moses . . ." Numbers 20:6,7.

Patrick Stevenson • Sadly, many leave Adventism because of relationships gone bad. I have found it important to cling to Jesus and the truth of His word, regardless of the disappointments I've experienced with some members and church administration. I'm a Seventh-day Adventist by conviction first, with relationships only secondarily significant for that identity.

Joe Morrato • Hey Robin,
Thanks for the encouragement. I have been doing just what you suggested for quite some time now - relying on my Lord Jesus for grace and salvation, and channeling His love and grace to discouraged or angry brothers and sisters. While praying for strength one night, God showed me that my mission was to channel God's love and grace by presenting a balanced picture of Him to those who had been deceived or discouraged by those who would lead them into either legalism or non-belief. We are both justified and sactified by the sacrificial blood of Jesus Christ - not membership in any church. If we trust our faith to the triune Members of the Godhead, we shall never be shaken!

Patrick,
There is only one relationship that will never got bad; and that is our relationship with Jesus. Men will frequently disappoint us; but God will only exceed our expectations if we just let Him in. Once we start seeing what He is doing rather than what He is not doing, our faith is only strengthened from glory unto glory.

Frank T. Clark • Joe, I agree the fundamental issue is "are we saved by the law or saved by grace?" On one extreme we see those who say "We are saved by grace and the love of God, therefore we don't need the law." The other extreme is those who say "We must obey the law!" but they forget all about the love of God.

In the middle are those who say "We are saved by grace and the love of God transforms us by His guidance in His law of love." The issue that splits the middle group is the definition of what applies from God's law. The Protestant community will accept the Ten Commandments except for the Fourth Commandment, which they say no longer applies. The Seventh-day Adventist rightly declares the Fourth Commandment still applies and some of God's Law recorded by Moses such as tithing, unclean meat, homosexuality, and some other things. Some Adventists such as Ellen White say there is more from the Law of Moses, which still applies.

In consequence of continual transgression, the moral law was repeated in awful grandeur from Sinai. Christ gave to Moses religious precepts which were to govern the everyday life. These statutes were explicitly given to guard the ten commandments. They were not shadowy types to pass away with the death of Christ. They were to be binding upon man in every age as long as time should last. These commands were enforced by the power of the moral law, and they clearly and definitely explained that law. {RH, May 6, 1875 par. 10} {1BC 1104.6} {ST April 15, 1875} Ellen G. White, "The Law of God", Review and Herald, May 6, 1875

The Fundamental Beliefs do not disagree with this statement. Some add the idea that the Law of Moses or some part of it is nailed to the cross, which the Fundamental Beliefs do not say. God says:

4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
Malachi 4:4

So the question is, 'How much of the Law of God do we accept as demonstrating His love and His guidance in our lives?" Where is the balance?

Where is the balance of law and grace in your life?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
