Dear Brothers and Sisters in
IAUA
(ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,
Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 18th day of the 12th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6016 Anno Mundi. The first yearly Sabbath of Unleavened Bread begins the Sacred New Year and the Spring Holy Day season in 3 weeks and 5 days on the evening of the 15th day of the 1st month (Wednesday, March 27th on the 2013, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset on Tuesday, March 26th). The Sacred month begins on the world day after lunar conjunction and the sacred year begins with the Spring Passover Rule dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar. Those who follow the Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) will be observing the Spring Holy Days a month later and the Jewish Calculated Rabbinical Calendar begins a day early in spring.
I received another welcome response from a newsletter reader about a topic mentioned in the previous newsletter. They said: I read the report of the BRI into Hope International and Associates whose link you gave and it repeats many errors of thinking on both sides. It seems amazing to me that the church thinks the administrative organisation is named by God as the remnant church in entirety. I have spoken before on this issue to others. No one can give me any supporting information from an inspired source to claim that the Remnant church is exclusively the SDA organisation, anymore than that only one organisation comprises Babylon. It is true that there is too much condemnation against the SDA church in some quarters, again attacking the SDA church for certain things as though it was monolithic, which it is clearly not. Yes, so many issues to decide on. And so much true character for each of us to develop. May our Lord have mercy on us all.
My response: Good to hear from you. I know you have been busy so you must have had a moment to catch up. You are absolutely correct about errors on both sides. Your observations are comforting and inspiring. I really dislike the role God has called me to in bringing certain charges of error against the denomination. I wish it were not so but we must deal with what is. God's people in all ages have always struggled with error and confusion. God calls us to work together within existing organizations as long as possible. I firmly believe that despite some errors in the church that as long as the SDA denomination is at the forefront in proclaiming the weekly Sabbath, it is not Babylon. Though it is Laodicean, there is no better place to be at this time.
Another relevant paper on the subject at the Biblical Research Institute website: The Church: Authority and Unity Having the subject of church or denominational authority tied to the subject of Unity brings this very close to the concerns of my heart and previous newsletters. It also brings some perspective to the subject. I decided against a point by point examination of the papers so I will just comment on two major issues. The Bible tells us in many places that we are to respect authority. 4 And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God's high priest?Paul was quoting the Law of Moses. 28 Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.Even when the denomination or individuals are wrong, we must still respect that God has placed them in their position. When we believe in the power of God and the fact that He is in control, we know this is true. We are to witness for greater additional truth but without direct criticism or disrespect. Acknowledging error is not criticism. Public denunciation is criticism. It will require great humility and the guidance of the Holy Spirit to discern a proper course of action. Those who would pull away from the existing denominational structure and label the seventh-day supporting organization as Babylon are in serious violation of God's Law. They are Laodicean but they are not Babylon. It is interesting and important to note that a primary issue is economic. Every organization is focused on who gets the financial support. I notice there is a certain spirit that is manifested. Sometimes there is a spirit of control, sometimes a spirit of rebellion, and sometimes a spirit of cooperation.There are two types of spirit, the first of which derives from a spirit of love and truth which flows from the throne of God. Another spirit of evil from the father of lies is also seen. While pondering these issues I was impressed by the issue of what type of people we need to be in these situations. I was pondering the difference between how people handle themselves and how they approach difficult situations. I will classify them by the term educated and uneducated. I have observed that educated people associate and learn from other educated people who have an interest in learning and study of centuries of human wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. The deepest source of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding for thousands of years is found in God's Law and the Bible. The less educated are heavily influenced by opinions of charismatic individuals who are often led by selfishness and self-gratification. I have further observed that educated people will tend to dress in simple, loose, modest clothing to avoid sexualizing everyday social interaction. They have learned to value internal wisdom over external looks and sexual attraction. The educated person is more likely to be respectful and cooperative. The uneducated person is more likely to be rude and disruptive. Is your focus on the spirit of Bible Truth or the spirit of the accuser of the brethren? I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
