Dear Brothers and Sisters in
IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,
Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 23rd day of the 6th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6017 Anno Mundi. The fall Holy Day season begins with Trumpets Sabbath in 1 week and 1 day on the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month (Sabbath, September 7th on the 2013, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset on Friday, September 6th). The Sacred month begins on the world day after lunar conjunction and the sacred year begins with the Spring Passover Rule dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar. The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is a month late this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is two days early in the fall this year.
Excerpts of discussion from LinkedIn.
Frank T. Clark • I believe it will be helpful to stimulate discussion of the Second Advent by providing a brief chronological summary of some of what Bible prophecy says about events before, during, and after the Second Advent. Dawn for the time of the end began in 1798. Sunrise for the time of the end began in 1844. Judgment begins to identify those who will be taken to heaven and those who will be destroyed at the Second Advent. We are now "Preparing for the End of Time". The end of time is the end of the time of the dominion of sin on earth. A time of increasing trouble is ahead of us until our Savior comes. The first resurrection, which includes all the righteous, occurs when our Savior comes. Those still living will be caught up with them to meet our Savior in the sky. All the wicked will be destroyed. The righteous will be in heaven for one thousand years. All heaven will return to the earth and the wicked will be resurrected to face the execution of the judgment. Fire will destroy all traces of the wicked and sin. There will be a second creation restoring the earth to its original condition. Sin will never occur for eternity.
Rev. Jan Michael Nace, ThD • Frank: From a non-Adventist view point I must say charitably that the 1844 doctrine and time frame for End Times is only held by Adventists worldwide and no other denomination adheres to it. That does not say Adventists are wrong, but to me it says we must be careful as it is unprovable (by scientic method?) and therefore we cannot be dogmatic. That is why I am not a 100% Adventist member as in my ministry I can only with good conscience preach and teach what is plainly revealed, provable and not a matter of denominational position. Having said that, I would agree that the Adventists End Time teaching is reaching people more than many if not most other church groups. If these converts sincerely and truly follow Jesus Christ 100% and keep Adventist doctrine under the Lordship of Jesus we can rejoice and thank God for Kingdom fruit.
Rev. Jan Michael Nace, ThD • Re-reading Daniel 8 I must concur the Adventists have the most solid case for their understanding of this chapter. Contextually and exegetically the Adventist position is the most reasonable. The other interpretations I have read do not have the strength the Adventist position has.
Frank T. Clark • Jan, I believe it is provable from the Bible by the scientific method and the record of history because I have proved it to myself by careful study. It is of no concern to me what denominations agree. It is important to note that the doctrine was in place long before there was a single Seventh-day Adventist. God has always had His faithful students of the Bible no matter what the denomination. I am pleased the Seventh-day Adventist denomination agrees and that is part of why I am a member. I understand that you see things differently. You must be faithful to your own understanding.
Rom 14:4 Who are you that judges another's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. But he will stand, for God is able to make him stand. I am not dogmatic but I certainly have my own understanding, which I will express openly, particularly around those who agree as long as the freedom to do so exists.
Rev. Jan Michael Nace, ThD • Just for the record I was not calling you dogmatic or judging you. I am not into that. But I am into the Holy Spirit confirming truth to all Christians everywhere. Can you tell me before the Adventists who believed these things?
Frank T. Clark • The 1844 doctrine is composed of many details but the major portion was the product of William Miller who was never a Seventh-day Adventist and was to my best memory of history never even a Sabbath keeper. The Millerites were a movement not a denomination but they were also not Seventh-day Adventists. The Millerites were members or former members of many denominations. It is true a few Millerites were later to become Seventh-day Adventists. Sabbath observance did not begin with a handful of Millerites until about 1846 with increasing development beginning about 1848. The Seventh-day Adventist denomination did not even officially exist until 1863. Maybe I am being too literal? I have studied religious history of many denominations very carefully so I am highly specific about such things. By the way there are other "Adventist" denominations and other "Seventh-day" denominations.
Rev. Jan Michael Nace, ThD • I am aware of all this as I have read Adventist history from various authors. But my point is the 1844 Doctrine was not revealed/preached before Miller/Adventists. One explanation of course may be that the papacy had to be held captive after the 2300 years to activate the prophecy. Proof of scientific method?
Frank T. Clark • I believe it is God's plan (and leading) for the understanding of 1844 (the time of the end) to rise in 1831 in fulfillment of: Dan 12:4 But you, O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, even to the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. My studies (and SDA doctrine) also show this to be linked with the Three Angel's Message of Revelation 14. This all leads to the "Preparing for the End of Time", the Second Coming of Christ. I do not understand what you mean by "Proof of scientific method?".
Rev. Jan Michael Nace, ThD • Frank: By proof of scientific method I was referring to math being used in the calculation of the 1844 interpretation of prophecy. My method is more simple [like me], and that is to take the chronological order of events in Revelation from chapters 1 through 22 in that order. Since Rev.14 is still future for me [I have not seen the Antichrist or Mark of the Beast yet in history and that comes before chapter14 for example], I see no connection with Daniel 8. How do Adventists see Rev 14 happpening now and how is it connected to Daniel 8? Is it the fall of the power of the papacy [Babylon]?
Frank T. Clark • Mathematics is a very small part of the scientific method. Observation is the most important part of the scientific method. We observe clearly (at least it is clear to me...) with careful study of the Bible that the Biblical pattern, particularly in prophecy, is summarized as repeat and enlarge. Similar to the way a newspaper article is often written. Daniel is the clearest example of this. Most presentations begin with a summary, then restate in more detail, and often repeating from different perspectives. Chronological development is only one presentation method and rarely used in isolation. Perhaps you do not recognize that Revelation is not a single vision but multiple visions presented one after the other in the Bible sometimes separated by the phrase "after these things" or "after this". The occasional deliberate complexity of the Biblical presentation, especially prophecy, reminds me of these words.
Mat 13:9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear. Related scriptures: Isaiah 6:9-10; Isaiah 43:8; Mark 4:12; Luke 8:10; John 12:40; Acts 28:25-27: Romans 11:8
Are you seeing the patterns of the Bible by deep prayerful study, guided by the Holy Spirit, and spiritual communion (holy convocation) with other believers? I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
