Dear Brothers and Sisters in
IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,
Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 25th day of the 9th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6017 Anno Mundi. The Spring Holy Day season begins the New Year in about five months with Passover on the evening of the 15th day of the 1st month (Tuesday, April 15th on the 2014, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset on Monday, April 14th). The Sacred month begins on the world day after lunar conjunction and the sacred year begins with the Spring Passover Rule dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar. The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is the same this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is the same in the spring this year.
For the first time ever, I am going to repeat the contents of two previous newsletters one is a very early 2004-11-26 and the second from 2009-11-27. The subject is Thanksgiving.
The Thanksgiving holiday celebration is a part of the American law and tradition. The modern children of Abraham (Galatians 3:7), the end time children of Israel (Revelation 7:4), have already celebrated their thanksgivings for over a week in the way God commanded. Leviticus 23:33-44 (edited) The LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD. On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. On the eighth day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. When ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations. Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD. It is prescient that Ellen White and the pioneers saw something of the importance and place of the Feast of Tabernacles. "Well would it be for us to have a feast of tabernacles, a joyous commemoration of the blessings of God to us as a people." {RH, November 17, 1885 par. 14} "We see that the forces of the enemy are strengthening, and that the ministers in every place are making earnest efforts to oppose the truth, and more so in Wellington than any place I ever visited. Everything is said to present Seventh-day Adventists as only a few in number, and inferior in every respect, possessing little influence. And shall we not on this occasion represent the believing rank and file the very best that we possibly can? Will our brethren not come up to the feast of tabernacles?--Letter 8a, 1893. (Written October 31, 1893, at Gisborne, New Zealand.)" {11MR 9.1} "The forces of the enemies are strengthening, and as a people we are misrepresented; but shall we not gather our forces together, and come up to the feast of tabernacles?" {BEcho, December 8, 1893 par. 5} Ellen equated the Feast of Tabernacles with a camp meeting and did not see the importance of the date specified in Leviticus. The 15'th day of the seven month of the Sacred Calendar was September 30'th by the Catholic Gregorian calendar for the year 2004. Apparently the word "Thanksgiving" has too much reverence associated with it for this irreverent world. Many refer to the day simply as "Turkey" day. The modern children of Abraham can comfortably socialize on the worldly day of thanksgiving since there are no obvious associated pagan customs. This is unfortunately not the case with the upcoming "Christmas" season. More on that later.
This is the time of modern thanksgiving in America (The United States of America). Contrary to popular understanding, the concept of a thanksgiving harvest celebration goes way back to ancient times. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Harvest_Festivals A little bit of research shows a lot of historical pagan roots. Thanksgiving is unlike Christmas and Easter, which retain a lot of pagan symbols mixed with heavy religious overtones. Thanksgiving is a bit more of a benign celebration. As I have mentioned before, those who follow God's Sacred Calendar have already practiced thanksgiving in the divinely appointed Feast of Tabernacles. The following article is an example of those who go to a bit of an extreme in condemning Thanksgiving. I am not saying I disagree with their basic premise but I believe they do go too far in the shrillness of their criticism. (There are variations of the article on different web sites. It has been deleted from some and may be deleted from this one. You may need a Google search to locate it.) "Should Christians Observe Thanksgiving?" by John D. Keyser http://www.hope-of-israel.org/thankgiv.htm I believe those who have observed the thanksgiving days which God has proclaimed can safely fellowship with others on the worldly day of Thanksgiving. This holiday does not have the mixing of sacred spiritual meaning with profane pagan symbols. However, it is important to remember the ideas of this worldly day are not in complete harmony with God's plan. Have you ignored the day which God has proclaimed for Thanksgiving and chosen instead another day to be the center of your attention? I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
