Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 11th day of the 7th month of the Biblical Calendar in the estimated year 6019 Anno Mundi.

The Fall Sabbaths continue Tuesday with Tabernacles Sabbath on the 15th day of the 7th month (Tuesday, September 29th of the 2015, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset Monday, September 28th).

On God's Calendar the Biblical month begins on the global day after lunar conjunction and the Biblical year begins with God's New Year's Day (Passover) after the spring equinox (Spring Passover Rule). The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is the same this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is one day early.

My wife and I had a wonderful Atonement Sabbath yesterday at a nearby lake discussing God's truth and enjoying the peace and beauty of nature.

I was watching the grand 3ABN presentation "Anchors of Truth" recently and I was deeply troubled. The first thing that troubled me was the clear signs of the glorification of man and a focus on the achievements of this world. There were disclaimers and claims of humility but they were hollow.

It is a very difficult problem for charismatic public presenters such as preachers and singers to remain humble. I have observed few who are successful at remaining truly humble. Embarrassment is not the same thing as true humility. True humility will essentially ignore flattery and immediately point to God giving him all the praise.

The second thing that troubled me has already begun discussion in last week's presentation. Restating my concern in a different way.

Is there a danger in charismatic and pleasing presentations that teach some truth and inspiration but ignore other truth and teach against other truth as well as contain subtle misleading facts and ideas? I believe there is. No presentation is perfect but some stray too far from truth.

The danger is that the Laodicean will sit back and relax while hearing soothing words that stroke their complacency but contain seeds of error. Only a diligent, ongoing, real-time, mental fact checking of what is being said with truth will rescue you from absorbing the seeds of error. These seeds of error will settle into your mind and slowly grow and corrupt your thinking. Only daily, diligent study of God's Word and a regular, careful pondering of truth will save you from corruption. Consider the words of David, a man after God's own heart.

Psalms 119:9-16
9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed [thereto] according to thy word.
10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
12 Blessed [art] thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as [much as] in all riches.
15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

Psalms 18 is also encouraging guidance. Read the whole chapter carefully praying for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to understand the depths of God's Word.

So, you may be wondering, what words of error did I hear? I am not going to itemize every one but I will give you some specific examples.

We believe the Godhead is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. The presentation was made that after sin entered the earth there was a council to decide what to do to deal with the problem. WRONG! The problem of sin was seen from the very beginning, before even the angels were created. The plan was in place and complete from eternity. You may say this is a small thing but it is a seed of error causing us to think and believe our God is not eternal and all-knowing.

There were numerous denials of the value and importance of knowledge. WRONG! Do I need to remind you of the words of God himself?

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

It was blatantly stated that every word of Bible prophecy about events before those directly associated with the Second Coming has been fulfilled. WRONG! This is a favorite idea of the Laodicean. They don't need anything more to be ready. They don't believe there is a major reformation needed, prophesied, and still coming. What does God say?

Malachi 4:4-5
4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, [with] the statutes and judgments.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

More subtle is the fact that there were certain things that were not said. I understand that every presentation is not a complete detail of every truth but there are certain truths that must be presented every time and in balance. I heard a lot about love, mercy, and salvation but not one word about obedience. The one exception was for the favorite narrow Laodicean focus of the weekly Sabbath. Love and obedience can never be presented without a balance of the other being at least mentioned. I will remind you of only one verse of many.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

There was a more subtle problem that is only recognized by those who are not Laodicean. The weekly Sabbath was pushed and hammered with severe denunciations of those who do not know and follow. What about the yearly Sabbaths? The presenter, 3ABN who gave him the platform, and the denomination he represents all reject this truth.

We might as well look to a Sunday-keeper as a source of truth and inspiration. Oh, I forgot... we do that.

It is not required that every presentation cover truly important truths. However, the emphasis was made several times in this presentation that we need to be considering the importance of the times. I agree with this emphasis.

Romans 13:11-14
11 And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed.
12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof].

These are serious times. We need to be dealing with serious issues beyond the widespread Laodicean complacency.

Do you see the danger of being led astray by pleasing presentations that preach/teach subtle error and confusion?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
