Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!  Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 17th day of the 8th month of the Biblical Calendar in the estimated year 6019 Anno Mundi.

The Spring Sabbaths begin in about six months with the first yearly Sabbath of Unleavened Bread, God's New Year's Day, on the 15th day of the 1st month (Thursday, March 24th of the 2016, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset Wednesday, March 23rd).

On God's Calendar the Biblical month begins on the global day after lunar conjunction and the Biblical year begins with God's New Year's Day (Passover) after the spring equinox (Spring Passover Rule). The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is a month later next year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is also a month later.

I thought very carefully about presenting this subject. My wife thought I shouldn't. I have been involved in a regular email exchange with a new website visitor. I CC my wife on just about every email I receive and often discuss my responses before I send them.

My wife provides valuable feedback and comments. I read almost every newsletter to her before I send it. I have though it might be helpful to provide an audio recording of my newsletter to everyone. It is helpful to understanding to hear a person's inflections as they read. This is a level of communication missing from email. It is also helpful to see a person's facial expressions.

After my last newsletter, My wife and I received this email with the subject "Urgent Request". I have edited what I am sharing to remove any personally identifiable information.

Dear Friends,

I had my last of 3 hearings in front of the arbitrator regarding the fraud my landlord perpetrated on us with respect to the black mold issue. My matter was set to be heard and the landlord's matter which was set for Nov. 27 was heard instead. We were ruled against because we didn't pay rent even though by law the landlord owed us our money back. Total miscarriage of justice! We have been suffering so much and now we are being kicked out within days. We have no where to go. I have been paid a little from ... but only money for food. My son and I miraculously found a new home to move to last night which we are viewing today but we will need $4000 in the next few days to get it here in town so we could carry on our work with for the Lord in establishing ... and hopefully bring in the loud cry.

I know you stated you just got a donation from the brethren you had meetings with recently and you said you didn't need it. Perhaps the Lord gave you that donation for helping us at this time? I am kindly asking if you could help us out in our desperate need right now, even though I don't like to ask, we are in a crisis situation.

Thank-you,

_____

There was a previous hint of wanting financial support but this was blatant. I responded.

I have worked very hard to be patient and understanding with you. You have shown yourself to be quite self-centered and this request has stepped over the line. I was only given $95 and that was toward the ministry. It will be used to buy more books for free distribution to others to spread truth. What would lead you to think that this money is for you? You appear to be making a mistaken assumption that because we praise God for His blessings and accept the hardships He allows us to bear without complaining that we have extra to spare. We routinely have to bear with being unable to help desperate family needs more than we do and the Bible is clear that we must take care of our family before taking care of others. God will provide for your needs from local resources in His own way and in His own time. I am deeply saddened to have to tell you that I do not wish to hear from you any more.

Be at peace,

They previously told me that it was the responsibility of any ministry to help those in need. I am concerned about requests for assistance when people are thousands of miles away and the need cannot be verified. People often say they have needs but often their problems are the results of their own choices. There real need is in help with their choices.

I carefully reviewed the Biblical record of the work of our Savior. There were a couple of mentions about helping the poor but it is not recorded for our instruction that it was a central part of His ministry.

I often hear these verses used to support the idea we must help others.

Matthew 25:35-36
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

While I agree that it is important to help others, when you can, I believe it is required for us to be diligent servants and not give unless there is a real need. There are numerous Bible references on this topic.

I also suspect these words have a deeper meaning. I am reminded of the saying that you give a man a fish and he will eat for a day but teach him to fish and he will eat many days. What is more important, eternal salvation or our earthly needs? I believe this is the deeper meaning of the verse. The bread of life is our meat. The water of life is our greater need. Bring a stranger into the house of God. Teach others to clothe themselves in righteousness. We need freedom from sin, which is our greatest sickness and our prison.

On the other side of the coin, I am saddened to hear ministries beg for money and then see that money wasted and misused. (I am not mentioning any names or details...) Is that an instance of greed?

I could say much more but perhaps it is best to stop there.

Do you recognize the many faces of greed?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
