The Lord is Coming!  Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is day 26 of month 11 of the year 1987 Anno Crucis of the Biblical Calendar.

The Spring Sabbaths begin with the Biblical New Year's day on the First Sabbath of Unleavened Bread in 7 weeks, day 15 of month 1 (Friday, March 22 of the 2019, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset Thursday, March 21).

On God's Calendar the Biblical month begins on the global day after lunar conjunction. The Biblical year begins with God's New Year's Day (Passover) after the spring equinox (Spring Passover Rule). The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is a month late in the Gregorian 2019 year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar will also be a month late.

I was sent a text recently by a spiritual leader (no names to avoid any embarrassment or criticism):

“This really spoke to me today."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7dQ7H3Ks04

It spoke to me also but I was very disturbed about what I saw and heard in the "spiritual talk" at the recommended link. I was pondering for a while how to describe the problem with what I was seeing. I finally decided that proud communication was the best I could do. I think you know what I am talking about. This was about the worst case I have ever seen. I could not help but wonder how our Savior sees this.

In proud communication the person is essentially drawing attention to themselves rather than God. They do this in many different ways.

They talk unnecessarily loud, almost shouting, or actually shouting. It is important to be heard but you don't need to shout.

They talk in extremely different and exaggerated voices.

They make exaggerated movements.

They use scholarly words, strange wordings, and strange descriptions for simple ideas.

They talk fast.

They use too much repetition.

They rely on excessive visual and audio stimulation and emotionalism.

and other things...

Some people believe that some of these things are needed to make the presentation more interesting or appealing. I disagree. When you know your subject and present it clearly, logically, and accurately that is enough for the humble presenter and attentive listener.

It is true that the world has made these things commonplace but that doesn't make them good or valuable. You can attract a lot of attention but that is not the same as generating true interest. My ideas may seem outdated but I believe a simple presentation is the best presentation. Primarily, I am speaking about spiritual presentations but I believe there is some value to these ideas when applied to any presentation.

We give our children and ourselves a bad example when we are exposed to excess stimulation. Excess stimulation of emotions in particular leads to desensitizing our normal feelings.

I recognize it is valuable to use some vocal expression in presentations. It is not good to talk in a monotone. It is valuable to express some intensity but without excess. We do what we can guided by the Holy Spirit. Some times it seems like some people are guided by another spirit.

Are you interested in the simple presentation of plain truth?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
