Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 26th day of the 12th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6013 Anno Mundi.

It is 2 weeks and 5 days until the Spring Sabbaths begin with the first Sabbath of Unleavened Bread on the evening of the 15th day of the 1st month (Wednesday, March 31 on the 2010 Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Tuesday, March 30).

This year, those who follow the Millerite Calendar determination will be one month later than my research has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates for God's Sacred Calendar. The dates on the Jewish Calendar are one day earlier in the spring and one day early in the fall.

I had a very pleasant exchange of emails with a newsletter reader who has followed the Law of Moses much longer than I have. They are pleasant because even though we have disagreements we are able to discuss these disagreements without being disagreeable. He has copies of my first book.

He wrote to me:

I feel your book is a useful tool to introduce people to truth which is unfolding from the Torah. As I mentioned in previous communication, however, there are a few things in it which I would view a bit differently.... and I believe you were interested in discussing what these might be. Here's a brief list, along with references to articles on my website www.truthdepot.net which will give more background on the specific issues:

*beginning of the year - tied to abib barley, not equinox: go to "Calendar" topic on my website for a brief note I wrote, along with links to many good sources of calendar information.

*5th commandment - with the first four, not the last five: the Jews have always placed the fifth commandment with the first four, but due to our ignorance of the nature of the "Godhead" we have glibly placed it with the last five: go to "Family of Heaven" topic on my website for several studies on the nature of "Elohim".

*1844 Yom Kippur/Atonement - has been made out to be the beginning of judgement, when in fact judgement begins at Yom Teruah/Trumpets and concludes at Yom Kippur. Dr. Bacchiocchi wrote extensively on what he learned from Jewish sources on this matter, and I would refer you to his work for more information. For another brief discussion on 1844, go to the "Bob Trefz" topic on my website and read the article "Open Letter to Jay and Stephanie Hall".

*talit/prayer shawl - commanded in Torah for men only, not for women. If you check Strong's for "children" in Numbers 15:38, you will see that it is the Hebrew word for "sons", which is how it is translated in better translations. The orthodox Jews go further, and state that Torah forbids women from wearing the talit - "a woman shall not wear that which pertains to a man" - and I agree with them. Go to the "Open Letter to Tom Eisendrath - on 'Submitting'" and "Circumcised By (To) The Beast" on my website for more information.

I replied:

Dear Ron,

Thank you very much for your observations on the differences you have with my understandings.

I am quite familiar with the teaching concerning the timing of the year by the barley. This teaching has a lot of persuasive study behind it. I find myself unable to dismiss the Word of God at creation which I believe indicates astronomical signals determine the elements of God's Calendar.

Gen 1:14 And God said: 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;

We each must follow our conscience and understanding of the Word of God. We will have to agree to disagree on this one.

I have no quibble at all with grouping the fifth commandment with the first four, not the last five. I did not think about this issue while writing because it did not seem important.

The focus on Oct. 22, 1844 and its interpretation has a lot of equivocal aspects which are not carefully defined. I have repeated a common interpretation and understanding as a frame of reference and not intending an explicit teaching. I do agree completely Atonement is when judgment occurs and can be considered the end rather than a symbolic period for a beginning. Again, I will admit I did not think about this issue while writing because it did not seem important.

Your observations about the tzitzit sound quite reasonable and compelling. This is an area which is somewhat new to me and has not been deeply studied.

I am still investigating and learning many details about the Law of Moses. I feel like a poor beginner at this study having only been made aware of the subject about seven years ago and struggling with the ignorance and criticism of many of my former peers. I have studied some parts of the Law more than others so my knowledge and understanding is a little uneven. I am continually amazed and grateful to God for calling me out of my former ignorance and I am amazed how far He has led me in a relatively short time. I am often grateful that God understands our limitations and ignorance and deals with us in grace on our journey and struggles. I have felt compelled to share what I have learned with others who are in a similar condition to where I was even though I have much more to learn. I have also struggled greatly with the enormous burden of Jewish tradition which is poured out on those who become open to the Law of Moses. I find it necessary to sift the elements of a primitive religion based only on God's direction from the many conflicting teachings of traditions built up over millennia and held by competing groups.

I hope you don't mind if I quote this discussion in a future newsletter because I value your observations.

I could only wish more people would be open to clear and simple presentations, discussion and the exchange of information about our studies and beliefs. It is so easy to condemn others for their belief by calling it wrong while pushing your own belief as a monologue, without listening, appropriate to a discussion. I admit I also struggle with this problem so I understand the difficulty. I work at being patient and understanding of others as I hope they will be of me.

Is your search for truth in the spirit of sharing and discussing differences, with patience and consideration, prompted by the Holy Spirit?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
