Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of Pentecost Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 6th day of the 3rd month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6014 Anno Mundi.

It is 4 months until the Fall Sabbaths begin with Trumpets Sabbath on the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month (Friday, September 10 on the 2010 Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Thursday, September 9th).

This year, those who follow the Millerite Calendar determination will be one month later than my research has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar. The dates on the Jewish Calendar are one day earlier in the spring and one day early in the fall.

_____

Some last (maybe) smoldering embers in the recent struggles to understand the Sacred Calendar of God. In the last newsletter I was asked for a one sentence rule to calculate the beginning of the year. I offered two precise but different ways of saying the same thing.

"The spring equinox is the yearly signal which needs to come before the first yearly Sabbath world day which begins at sunrise on the 14th day of the month."

"The day of Passover Eve is the first 14th day (full moon) of a month where the sun rises at Golgotha (Jerusalem) after the spring equinox."

_____

My Messianic/Adventist brother continues:

I don't understand these sentences. so sorry.

_____

I responded:

The difficulty is probably because of the precision of the sentence. A simpler version which matches the vagueness of the appendix notes of the Great Controversy 1888.

Passover is the first 15th of a month after the equinox.

Or even more vague using the identical words:

Passover is the first full moon after the equinox.

This is a 14 day difference from:

New Year is the first new moon after the equinox.

New Year and especially New Year's Day is a pagan focus and concept. Passover is the Messianic focus of the beginning of the year. The beginning of the month is two weeks earlier but the first yearly Sabbath is the true focus of the beginning of the year.

_____

My Messianic/Adventist brother continues:

April 19th, 2011 Passover Does Not Fit

Celebrating the Passover on April 19th, 2011 falls outside of the allotted time frame proscribed by the following two quotes from Ellen G. White.

"The time of the Passover corresponded to the close of March or the beginning of April,"{PP 537.3}

Unambiguous sentence does allow the time of Passover to float between late March to early April. April 19th is not early April but closer to late April.

"The first of these festivals, the Passover, the feast of unleavened bread, occurred in Abib, the first month of the Jewish year, corresponding to the last of March and the beginning of April."{DA 75.2}

Interpreted correctly the above quote would mean that the month of Aviv always begins in March and stretches into early April. Celebrating Passover on April 19th voids the above Ellen G. White quote by beginning the month of Aviv in early April.

Conclusion of the Matter

People that claim to subscribe to the inspirational writings of Ellen G. White must draw a red line through the two above quoted sentences in order to sanction a Passove observance as late in the year as April 19th, 2011.

_____

I responded:

I understand your position and I respect your right to your conclusion.

We will have to agree to disagree.

While I have the utmost respect for the quotes from Ellen G. White, I do not accept your specific interpretation from her general statement because it would contradict the Word of God which says we must look for a signal from the sun for the start of the year. For this reason I cannot accept an arbitrary specific date on the Gregorian Calendar derived from a general statement. Furthermore, Ellen was not an expert in calendar determination and never even followed the calendar. I believe the Holy Spirit gave her valuable general information which is extremely helpful to guide us. I do not believe this information is specific enough to reach your interpretation. Without further information or guidance, I cannot budge from this position.

We will have to agree to disagree.

_____

I respect the requirement for each person to seek and follow their best understanding of truth.

It goes against my precise nature and training as an engineer but sometimes a high degree of accuracy with specific details is not always needed. I make great effort to keep my presentations as clear and simple as possible. This is a constant struggle. One solution to this problem is to start with simple but partly ambiguous ideas and develop on these to more precise and complex ideas.

Do you earnestly pray and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in your effort to understand His desire for us?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
