Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 25th day of the 5th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6014 Anno Mundi.

It is 5 weeks until the Fall Sabbaths begin with Trumpets Sabbath on the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month (Friday, September 10th on the 2010 Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Thursday, September 9th).

This year, those who follow the Millerite Calendar determination will be one month later than my research has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar. The dates on the Jewish Calendar are one day earlier in the spring and one day early in the fall.

Confrontation is inevitable when serious study of the Bible is practiced with an intent to obey and to share with others. There will always be differences in understanding. There is only one absolute truth but we fallen human beings struggle to understand what has been lost and hidden. The adversary is actively opposing truth and creating confusion.

I Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

The Holy Spirit is actively working to reveal truth to those who trust in God and His Word.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The important point is to keep confrontation from becoming destructive. Healthy confrontation is a bringing together of ideas for comparison. Destructive confrontation is a forceful conflict of opposing ideas. We must always remember the command to show love to each other.

John 13:34-35
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

This is not new in the sense of being unheard of, but a renewed or fresh statement of old truth.

Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Leviticus 19:34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

There is a current controversy within the church over the "feasts" or yearly Sabbaths, which I believe is a more accurate description. We need to compare ideas to reach understanding even if we do not agree. Honest people can disagree until the truth is revealed by the Holy Spirit. Do not presume to take the work of the Holy Spirit upon yourself.

Ephesians 4:1-3
1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Some recent emails about the Ron du Preez (ThD, DMin, PhD candidate, Communication Director, Michigan Conference) presentation "Feast-keeping and the Final Crisis" which aired on 3ABN Thursday July 29. The presentation states God's command to observe the yearly Sabbaths no longer applies.

Did anyone else watch the presentation on 3ABN last week?

I have been pondering drafting a response. Is anyone interested in collaborating, contributing, or discussing such a response? There were some significant issues I believe can be addressed.

If anyone is interested, you can download the streaming files of the presentation to review.

The first step would be to create a transcript which I am thinking about starting this week.

A response:

I taped it and several of us here are going to go through it, maybe this Sabbath ... [or] the following Sabbath. I am very interested in what you have to say about the presentation and what little I did get to see, I am not sure he is bringing up everything that is said about feast days, but then I will have to see the whole tape to know that for sure. Our group here will take quite a while to go through it cause we will be checking out as much as possible his thinking about what the Bible is really saying.

Another response:

I did not watch this when it was broadcast because I knew it would be the same old rhetoric always used. But because you requested it I listened to as much as I could stand just now from this list. One of the most obvious issues is how they say that while the sacrifices of the feast days point to Messiah, the seventh day Sabbath points to creation. I disagree. Do we worship creation or the Creator of creation? This presentation is the same as always. F.O.T.A.P. ~ Fallacy of the Assumed Premise. Because of Joe Crews they were already preprogrammed to reject the Feasts. It is so sad but I don't think anything will change their minds even if Moses himself told them. What is even sadder is that because of the jaded beliefs promoted at 3ABN now millions of SDA's will be grounded in error so that they may not be moved.

Another response:

Thanks for the update. I did not watch the original presentation but will do so on the web if I can find the time. Definitely send me the transcript if you put one together, and I'll provide a response to Ron du Preez' main points.

_____

I confess I also did not watch it at the time it was broadcast because I knew I would be upset seeing the whole thing at once. I am digesting it step by step.

This teaching did not start with Joe Crews. It has been in the Adventist church for a long time. I have seen scans of (unofficial, apparently created by laymen) documents nailing the Law of Moses to the cross from as far back as around 1900. Maybe I can look some up and share them with you. As Solomon said:

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

It will be my genuine effort to respond to the presentation by comparing ideas without criticism and judgment. I will state my belief and understanding as well as where I disagree and why. This will take a lot of time to compose.

Is it your desire to practice meekness and patience in comparing ideas to reach understanding?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
