Dear Brothers and Sisters in
IAUA
(ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,
Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 21st day of the 8th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6014 Anno Mundi. The Fall Sabbaths are past and the Spring Sabbaths begin in 24 weeks and 3 days with Unleavened Bread on the evening of the 15th day of the 1st month (Tuesday, April 19th on the 2011 Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Monday, April 18th). An amazing thing occurs in the Gregorian Calendar years of both 2011 and 2012. Those who follow the Millerite Calendar determination agree with what my research has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar and the dates on the Jewish Calendar also agree! _____ A few years ago I wrote a newsletter suggesting the Ark of the Covenant would not be found based on a thorough study of the Bible and a review of Ellen White quotes. The Bible does not appear to speak prophetically of the revealing of the Ark but another review of EGW statements show there is a basis for this belief. The Ark still exists on earth. "Among the righteous still in Jerusalem, to whom had been made plain the divine purpose, were some who determined to place beyond the reach of ruthless hands the sacred ark containing the tables of stone on which had been traced the precepts of the Decalogue. This they did. With mourning and sadness they secreted the ark in a cave, where it was to be hidden from the people of Israel and Judah because of their sins, and was to be no more restored to them. That sacred ark is yet hidden. It has never been disturbed since it was secreted." {PK 453.2} There is an appointed time when the tables of stone from the Ark will be revealed. Can we assume the Ark itself will also be revealed? Will they be revealed directly to men by God or will men be directed to find them? "By these words Christ has placed this matter beyond all the sophistry of human conjecture. "And He [Christ] gave unto Moses, when He had made an end of communing with him upon Mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God" (Exodus 31:18). Nothing written on those tables could be blotted out. The precious record of the law was placed in the ark of the testament and is still there, safely hidden from the human family. But in God's appointed time He will bring forth these tables of stone to be a testimony to all the world against the disregard of His commandments and against the idolatrous worship of a counterfeit Sabbath.--Ms 122, 1901, pp. 1-4. ("The Law," November 23, 1901.)" {8MR 100.3} {1BC 1109.2} The day of judgment is generally indicated as when the tables of stone will be seen. "There are abundant evidences of the immutability of God's law. It was written with the finger of God, never to be obliterated, never to be destroyed. The tables of stone are hidden by God, to be produced in the great judgment-day, just as He wrote them (RH March 26, 1908)." {1BC 1109.3} The time for the judging of the dead began in 1844 and the time for judging the living will soon come. The tablets have not been revealed yet so we can assume they will be shown at that time. "When the judgment shall sit, and the books shall be opened, and every man shall be judged according to the things written in the books, then the tables of stone, hidden by God until that day, will be presented before the world as the standard of righteousness. Then men and women will see that the prerequisite of their salvation is obedience to the perfect law of God. None will find excuse for sin. By the righteous principles of that law, men will receive their sentence of life or of death (Ibid., Jan. 28, 1909)." {1BC 1109.4} {1SM 225.2} There is uncertainty about whether the Ark is found by men or the tablets are presented by the hand of God. There is uncertainty about whether this will occur after probation or before. It is not helpful to spend too much time in argument or conjecture and we can be sure God's plan will occur. It is important to focus on the presentation of God's truth now and beware of excessive focusing on some future event which does not change the heart of a committed believer. A miraculous presentation in the sky does not seem to provide a way for men to verify the tables. Will God allow the Ark to be touched by modern men when He would not allow it in ancient Israel? Interesting thoughts. While researching and reading about the Ark and the Law I was struck by a realization of the difference in how I feel about the Law and the ideas expressed by others. This difference has its roots in the father of lies. The Law is not a mean-spirited attempt by God to control us. The Law is a revelation of His love for us and His guidance to the course of life which will bring us happiness. I maintain every teaching of the Law is important and necessary for our joy and happiness. I earnestly seek His guidance and embrace every specification He has given because it liberates me from sin and leads me to happiness. How sad it is when some seek to excuse themselves from the joy God provides. _____ A newsletter reader makes an interesting comment: One of the big problems with acceptance of the yearly Sabbaths is that many have trouble keeping their minds on the blessings of the Lord for one day a week. People have forgotten how to celebrate and how to enjoy life. Happy Sabbath! _____ I responded: I suspect what you say is absolutely true but isn't it amazing they often can celebrate Christmas and maybe Easter and any other worldly holiday with gusto. Be at peace _____ Where do you find your source of joy and happiness? I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
