Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Home / Archives

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 1st day of the 12th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6014 Anno Mundi.

The New Year begins with the Spring Sabbaths in 10 weeks and 3 days on the first Sabbath of Unleavened Bread starting the evening of the 15th day of the 1st month (Tuesday, April 19th on the 2011 Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Monday, April 18th).

An amazing thing occurs in the Gregorian Calendar years of both 2011 and 2012. Those who follow the Millerite Calendar and the Jewish Calendar agree with what my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar!

A first time reader of the newsletter responds:

I wanted to touch base with you on your newsletter and Sabbath of Unleavened Bread starting on the evening of the 15th day of the 1st month? How were you able to come up with the date of the evening of the 15th day of the first month?

Leviticus: 23-5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover.

Judaism claims to truly follow the God of Abraham, but doesn’t observe Passover as God instructed in Leviticus 23, “In the fourteenth day of the first month at even (Heb. “between the evenings”–ben ha arbayim) is the Lord’s Passover” (Lev. 23:4). Instead, Judaism observes Passover after the fourteenth day, on the beginning of the fifteenth, which is the first day of Unleavened Bread—a High Day—an annual Sabbath. But God clearly says it is to be observed in the fourteenth day.

If you keep Passover, when do you begin its observance? Does it begin before or after sunset of the 14th day of the first month? If you are one of those who starts this observance before sundown on the 14th, how much of your service is actually in the 14th and how much is in the 15th?

Of all people, those of Judaism, who keep the weekly seventh- day Sabbath, know when the Sabbath begins and when it ends.

They don’t need a Rabbi to tell them what this command means because they have grown up with the knowledge of sunset to sunset in the counting of this Holy Day. There is one exception to this; some Rabbis teach a six p.m. to six p.m. observance for the Sabbath, regardless of when the sun sets, but even a child would understand that such reasoning is not obedience to God’s instruction.

Any correctly kept Sabbath observance among those in Judaism is between the two evenings. The beginning of “even” is when the sun sets on the sixth day. The Sabbath begins at the very time of sunset and lasts until the following “even,” which ends the seventh day. This is their own definition of “ben ha erbayim.” However, they will not acknowledge it for the observance of Passover, but they do acknowledge it for the weekly Sabbath and annual Holy Days.

Passover is recognized as one of the holiest days in Judaism, but it is observed on the wrong day and not even in the way they are instructed. Those who follow Judaism have followed the false doctrines of their teachers. Most of them don’t even know their history of how this change came about, moving the observance of Passover from the beginning of the evening on the fourteenth to the immediate period following the fourteenth, in the beginning of the evening on the fifteenth.

None of this is said as an attack on Jewish people, but it is said out of love that they might acknowledge their wrong ways, repent and truly turn to the one true God of all the earth—the true God of Abraham. Judaism has lost sight of God’s true will and His spiritual promises because of their disobedience to God’s instruction concerning the Passover observance.

I responded:

Yes! I observe Passover and all God commands in His Torah as will all the 144,000.

I am intimately familiar with this controversy. There is a great deal of confusion over God's truth. Satan does all he can to keep it this way. Pray long and hard for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Much of the confusion over the yearly Sabbaths has to do with terminology. Some names and terms mean different things in different contexts. Translations of the Hebrew Bible into English also add to the uncertainties. Even the Hebrew Bible is tricky to understand certain specific details since the Torah is over three thousand years old. Hold fast to the promise.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

I have spent over seven years intensively studying this subject to unravel the tangled knots. I am deeply pleased you are asking some intense and difficult questions. This indicates you are studying to understand for yourself.

II Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (discerning) the word of truth (from error).

You cannot take as final truth the research and conclusion of only a couple of sources. You probably know this only too well. The Bible itself is the primary source but understanding certain specific details of the Bible is aided by careful study of other sources, guided by the Holy Spirit, which assist with understanding this ancient text. In particular it is important to consider whether the source is mature in all Biblical concepts and practice of all scripture to discern the probable level of reliability and accuracy. Compare different scriptures on the same subject for greater understanding. Piece by piece it comes together.

Isaiah 28:9-10
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Unfortunately many Christians are ignorant of so much of the Old (which I prefer to call the Original) Testament and Judaism rejects the New (which I prefer to call the Renewed) Testament. Many Messianics I have found to be poorly grounded in either Testament. The traditions of the rabbis are well known to be discordant, divisive, and not always according to Scripture.

I could spend a great deal of time explaining the interpretation but for now I will simply give the understanding of certain key concepts from my research. Take careful note of these four different applications of the word "Passover".

Passover (sacrifice of the lamb) occurs at the ninth hour of the fourteenth day "between" (not "at") evenings as you noted. Take careful note of this, evening is specified because it is not the evening which normally indicates the end of the day. Otherwise it would be redundant. The two evenings are the turn of the day to evening at noon (the sixth "hour" of daylight) and the close of the day at dusk (the twelfth "hour" of daylight). The sacrifice is a specific event (the "ninth" hour) followed by a meal. It is not a "day" of celebration. This pre-dusk observance is called "Erev Pesach" or Passover Eve. Exodus 12, Leviticus 23:5

Passover (week of Unleavened Bread) begins on the fifteenth day of the month and goes for seven days. Evening is not specified in the verse because it would be redundant. Leviticus 23:6

Passover (first yearly Sabbath day of rest) occurs from the evening beginning the fifteenth day until the evening closing the day. Evening is not specified in the verse because it would be redundant. Leviticus 23:7

Passover (second yearly Sabbath day of rest) occurs the seventh day of Passover week or the twenty-first day of the month. Leviticus 23:8

I hope this is understandable and helps clear the confusion.

This discussion will continue next week.

Are you studying deeply and practicing what you study to avoid the snares of Satan?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of Iaushua (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
