Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 8th day of the 12th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6014 Anno Mundi.

The New Year begins with the Spring Sabbaths in 9 weeks and 3 days on the first Sabbath of Unleavened Bread starting the evening of the 15th day of the 1st month (Tuesday, April 19th on the 2011 Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Monday, April 18th).

An amazing thing occurs in the Gregorian Calendar years of both 2011 and 2012. Those who follow the Millerite Calendar and the Jewish Calendar agree with what my research, and many others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar!

The discussion continues concerning the observance of Passover. The web site visitor says:

I will place more study on this very topic, as it is very interesting that the Torah still speaks of the Fourteenth day.

23:5 In the first month (aviv) on the fourteenth [day] between the evenings (erev) is the Pesach unto YHWH.
23:6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month [is] Chag HaMatzot (unleaven) unto YHWH: Shivat yamim (seven days) ye must eat matzah.
23:7 In yom ha rishon (first day) ye shall have a Mikra Kodesh:

I responded:

Of course it is interesting and important because that is the time of the sacrifice of the Passover lamb. The exact time our Saviour was sacrificed.

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Luke 23:44-46
44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

His sacrifice has now caused sacrifices to cease.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

While we no longer practice the sacrifice we still remember the day and we still observe the cease from work and holy convocation of the 15th day. The 14th is not and never has been a yearly Sabbath but the 15th is a yearly Sabbath. I follow exactly what the scripture says.

After more thought I responded:

Carefully reviewing our discussion and what the Bible says, I think I see a source of confusion in our discussion. In the Torah it appears the word "Passover" might be used only to refer to the sacrificial lamb. Ambiguity in the translation and understanding of the Torah leads one to suspect it also refers to the week of Unleavened Bread. Later use in the Bible and modern use clearly adopt this practice. In my newsletter I specifically spoke only of the week of Unleavened Bread. Your use of the word Passover raised some confusion about this which I usually avoid.

If we define the word Passover to refer to the sacrificial lamb, then I do not observe Passover in that sense. I would tend to use the word in the narrow sense though most do not. This narrow definition resolves your question about the fourteenth. I was not talking about the 14th. I was talking about Unleavened Bread on the 15th. There is an important Biblical distinction.

Hope this helps.

Others reminded me to mention another bit of confusing information about Passover. What Christians call the "Lord's Supper" did not occur on Passover. The Messiah was on the cross at Passover. This may have been a source of confusion to the disciples and still is to some modern disciples.

Luke 22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:

He knew he would not be able to eat with them at the proper time because He would be on the cross. This is part of the confusion about when he was crucified and when the Passover was observed.

John 13:1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

John 19:14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!

It is vitally important to observe our Messiah was resting in the tomb on the day which was both a weekly Sabbath and a yearly Sabbath. The congruence of these days is what made it a high day.

John 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Are you studying deeply and practicing what you study guided by the Holy Spirit?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of Iaushua (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
