Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 23rd day of the 12th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6015 Anno Mundi.

It is 3 weeks and 1 day until the Sacred New Year begins with the first Unleavened Bread yearly Sabbath the evening of the 15th day of the 1st month (Sabbath, April 7th on the 2012 Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Friday, April 6th). This year the day of the week will be the same as it was in the year IAUShUO was crucified on Golgotha.

An amazing thing occurs in the Gregorian Calendar years of both 2011 and 2012. Those who follow the Millerite Calendar and the Jewish Calendar agree with the dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar!

Continuing with some responses from a discussion I began on the LinkedIn website group "Adventists Linked" which triggered a lot of responses. So many responses I will present only some of them continuing from last week. This week, as we get deeper into the topic, we see the rise of disagreement and controversy.

Patrick Stevenson • It would be helpful if comments got to the specifics. Only toward the end of this series of comments did I finally detect that there is an agenda with one or two to promote the observance of the shadowy ceremonial laws along with the ten commandments. An opinion freely given and freely noted, but rejected. But of the other comments I get an overall sense of disatisfaction but learn nothing specific about which the writers are agrieved.

Daniel Murray • Patrick, surely no one is saying they believe in keeping the feast days!

Dave Clark • @Patrick,
>> "...I finally detect that there is an agenda with one or two to promote the
>> observance of the shadowy ceremonial laws along with the ten commandments."

"There is to be in the churches a wonderful manifestation of the power of God, but it will not move upon those who have not humbled themselves before the Lord, and opened the door of the heart by confession and repentance. In the manifestation of that power which lightens the earth with the glory of God, they will see only something which in their blindness they think dangerous, something which will arouse their fears, and they will brace themselves to resist it. Because the Lord does not work according to their ideas and expectations, they will oppose the work. “Why,” they say, “should not we know the Spirit of God, when we have been in the work so many years?”—Because they did not respond to the warnings, the entreaties of the messages of God, but persistently said, “I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing.” Talent, long experience, will not make men channels of light, unless they place themselves under the bright beams of the Sun of Righteousness, and are called, and chosen, and prepared by the endowment of the Holy Spirit. When men who handle sacred things will humble themselves under the mighty hand of God, the Lord will lift them up. He will make them men of discernment—men rich in the grace of his Spirit. Their strong, selfish traits of character, their stubbornness, will be seen in the light shining from the Light of the world. “I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.” If you seek the Lord with all your heart, he will be found of you." {RH December 23, 1890, Art. B, par. 18}

In truth, Patrick, your fears are not the result of my agenda. You see, it is not my job to convince nor to convict anyone of anything -- in particular, those who insist upon holding on to tradition over the express Word of God. Rather, my agenda is to encourage the meek and the hungry and thirsty to actually take God's challenge (Malachi 4:4-6) and Ellen G. White's challenge {GC 464.1}, in the spirit and example of those noble Bereans (Acts 17:1-13), to shed the blinders of tradition and return to God's Word in humble prayer and study to find the truths, for themselves, which have lain there dormant for the asking; but, ignored because Man's tradition became present truth as part of the replacement theology of satan, himself.

In further truth, there is not room here for comments to get to all the specifics of all the different truths the Holy Spirit has shown to me in God's Law. That is why I wrote a book. Yes, I did find in God's Word and in Ellen G. White's writings that God's Feast days never ended because they have not yet all been fulfilled (Matthew 5:17,18). But, I also found that God's so-called sacrificial law and His so-called ceremonial laws also never ended. Oh, certainly, the sacrifice of animals and the oblations of grain and oil ended because God said they would (Daniel 9:27). But, those weren't laws -- only fulfillments of the requirements of those laws. That is why what changed at the Cross was only how those requirements (of the sacrificial and ceremonial laws) were to be fulfilled. That is why Jesus Christ became our High Priest so that He could offer His Blood and perform the temple ceremonies in the Heavenly Sanctuary. However, Jesus Christ even added additional new sacrifices and ceremonies for His followers to perform -- baptism by immersion, the ordinance of humility, and the Lord's Supper (which is a Christian Passover specifically for that feast day).

Yes, “There is much light yet to shine forth from the law of God and the gospel of righteousness. This message, understood in its true character, and proclaimed in the Spirit, will lighten the earth with its glory.” {2MR 58.1} Do you welcome it? ...or fear it.

Alan Abbott • Dave - Your response was indeed helpful. For me it is an issue of not having an additional code of expectations from God that are mutually exclusive from the 10 Commandments, which I am learning encompass a very broad spectrum of God's guidance and plan for our life. I have been exposed to many Adventists growing up who translated the "10" as a list from God with, "Now, IF you can accomplish all these things, your salvation is secured," vs. "Because I love you SO much, this is how we can partner together to protect this incredible relationship I long to have with you." I appreciate everyone openness with this forum topic!

Frank T. Clark • Daniel: Yes, I confess, I believe in observing all God commands, including His yearly Sabbaths as commanded in Leviticus 23. Note specifically the use of the word Sabbath found in verses 24,32, and 39.

Patrick: Yes, I confess openly with humility before God , I have an agenda. My agenda is to support God's agenda. God has an agenda as described in Revelation 3, 18, and Malachi 4. These are all referenced in this enlightening quote.

There is to be in the churches a wonderful manifestation of the power of God, but it will not move upon those who have not humbled themselves before the Lord, and opened the door of the heart by confession and repentance. In the manifestation of that power which lightens the earth with the glory of God, they will see only something which in their blindness they think dangerous, something which will arouse their fears, and they will brace themselves to resist it. Because the Lord does not work according to their ideas and expectations, they will oppose the work. "Why," they say, "should not we know the Spirit of God, when we have been in the work so many years?"--Because they did not respond to the warnings, the entreaties of the messages of God, but persistently said, "I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing." Talent, long experience, will not make men channels of light, unless they place themselves under the bright beams of the Sun of Righteousness, and are called, and chosen, and prepared by the endowment of the Holy Spirit. When men who handle sacred things will humble themselves under the mighty hand of God, the Lord will lift them up. He will make them men of discernment--men rich in the grace of his Spirit. Their strong, selfish traits of character, their stubbornness, will be seen in the light shining from the Light of the world. "I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent." If you seek the Lord with all your heart, he will be found of you. {RH, December 23, 1890 par. 18}

Daniel Murray • Alan: you are right, we are saved by grace and not by our own works. It is easy to be labeled 'legalists' if we talk too much about keeping the law and not enough about grace. But we are saved by grace through faith, and faith without works is dead, so it is essential for the Christian to understand that obedience to the law of God, whilst it won't save you, forms a part of salvation.

Frank: I understand the importance of the feast days, but my belief is that we are no longer required to keep the feast days. The feasts themselves are of prophetic significance, so we must fully study and understand them. I am in no way saying that I know all there is to know about the feast days, the Bible teaches that we don't know anything as we ought, so my studies will continue in order to enable further light to be given to me on a personal level.

What would be really useful would be for you to post some Ellen White quotes where she states that we must keep the feast days. Also, any further Biblical texts that you have would be great.

However, back to the theme of this thread. The Seventh-Day Adventist Church is standing still and more needs to be done about reaching out to others and introducing them to the truth. The SDA Church no longer appears to be the defender of truth; far too many heretical articles have been penned by so-called SDA pastors and leaders. Only yesterday did I read an article by an SDA pastor saying that perhaps the Catholic Church is not the beast of Revelation...

Soon we will be joining with the Catholics in the ecumenical movement, and petitioning for a universal day of worship. Prophecy tells us that a Sunday law is on its way, but are we ready?

Frank T. Clark • Daniel: I sense you are trying to be honest and I encourage you to seek God's truth. I was ignorant of the truth for 50 years before I began to really search the Bible. I was shocked at what I found. What you or I believe is not important. The question is, what does the Bible teach? I hope it is clear to you from reading Leviticus 23 and many other places that God commanded Sabbath observance on both a weekly and a yearly basis. The simple question is, where does it ever say God changed His mind and His law? This is a very deep topic on which I and many others have written many books. Check it out if you are not afraid to investigate for truth. www.iaua.name

Ellen White clearly stated there was new light she did not know, which was to shine forth from God's Law. By the way, though I believe In EGW writings with all my heart, I follow the Bible not EGW.

I believe the lack of understanding and obedience to God's Law is exactly why the SDA church is struggling. We have lost the sanctifying power of truth and are straying further and further as you note. Only a complete return to all truth (reformation) will result in a revival of the church. Then and only then will the church be successful in following God's mission.

Laurie Wenzel • New light or added light sounds vague to me and often couched in "spiritualese". Perhaps you could be more specific. In the meantime I will share a text that means a lot to me in terms of growth.

3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. 5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters,[a] make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Laurie Wenzel • Oh yes. It's 2 Peter 1:3-10. Perhaps it will be my next project. A good one, don't you think?

Alan Abbott • As the Catholic Church teaches that they are responsible for changing the day of worship from the Bible Saturday Sabbath to Sunday the "Lord's Day" based on the authority of the power of the church and the pope. They still teach that Saturday is still the Bible Sabbath. So I assume that any governing body who mandates honoring Sunday by not worshiping on Saturday, will be an element of the beast profiled in the Bible. I expect the US to be leaders in Sunday law issues.

And we need to become ready individually before God can accomplish His plan through the church. "Fixing the church" can only happen by fixing ourselves first.

Frank T. Clark • Alan: I agree completely. We need to first grow in "our knowledge of Him who called us" (great text Laurie) on a personal level. When we have expended great effort in learning and "obeyed ... to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" we will witness to those who are willing to listen. By the way, are you aware of the full text of the letter from Bishop Enright where he states "The Catholic Church abolished not only the Sabbath, but all the other Jewish festivals." (http://www.iaua.name/Letter.html)

Laurie: Growth should always be our personal project. New Light is about growth in knowledge and understanding. EGW explicitly stated in very specific terms and quoted her angel guide as saying "There is much light yet to shine forth from the law of God and the gospel of righteousness." This was in 1888, which was long after they had the light on the weekly Sabbath. (http://www.iaua.name/NewBibleLight.html) They were keeping all of the Ten Commandments. Apparently there is more in the Law of God than just the Ten Commandments. Just as the greatest law "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind" is just a summary, the Ten Commandments is only a summary of which the statutes (Law of Moses) were additional guidance.

"In consequence of continual transgression, the moral law was repeated in awful grandeur from Sinai. Christ gave to Moses religious precepts which were to govern the everyday life. These statutes were explicitly given to guard the ten commandments. They were not shadowy types to pass away with the death of Christ. They were to be binding upon man in every age as long as time should last. These commands were enforced by the power of the moral law, and they clearly and definitely explained that law." {RH, May 6, 1875 par. 10}

Are you open to new light on old truths or will you resist?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
