(ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,
Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 16th day of the 4th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6016 Anno Mundi. The fall holy day season begins with Trumpets Sabbath in 10 weeks and three days starting the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month (Monday, September 17th on the 2012, Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Sunday, September 16th). An amazing thing occurs in the Gregorian Calendar years of both 2011 and 2012. Those who follow the Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) and the Jewish Calendar agree with the Spring Passover Rule dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar!
A member of the LinkedIn E-ventist discussion groups asked me an interesting question in a private email. "I have just been reading again the discussion on clean and unclean meats and keep on getting people asking me why I say we should be vegetarians when Jesus ate fish. Do you have a clear answer on this issue?"
I gave a simple reply: Those who are not willing to follow God's guidance will always find excuses why they can continue to do what they want to do, such as eat meat. Ignorance of God's Law (Law of Moses) compounds the problem. I make some general mention of principles in the newsletter 2007-03-02 and 2010-12-03. I can't find anything detailed I have written on this subject. The general answers are: 1. EGW recommends the vegan diet as needed in the end of time. 2. Even supposedly clean meat is not properly slaughtered and is therefore "unclean". 3. Pollution and chemical misuse is tainting eggs, dairy, meat and fish in a severe way.
There are also some more detailed statements in the 2011-08-05 newsletter which I have repeated here. The biggest problem is fat and blood, which is increased in modern animal production and preserved in modern slaughtering processes. The goal is to kill the animal, without draining any blood, by a process, which is essentially "strangling". This is supposed to "enhance" the flavor of the meat. Therefore, the supposedly "clean" meat, which is not properly slaughtered by draining the blood, contains forbidden blood and modern requirements increase the forbidden fat. The concern about strangling and blood is mentioned even in the New Testament but routinely ignored. 20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.Ellen White spoke of the requirements of God and this problem. "Upon their settlement in Canaan, the Israelites were permitted the use of animal food, but under careful restrictions which tended to lessen the evil results. The use of swine's flesh was prohibited, as also of other animals and of birds and fish whose flesh was pronounced unclean. Of the meats permitted, the eating of the fat and the blood was strictly forbidden." {MH 311.3}Almost all modern production and preparation of meat is designed to increase fat and retain the blood in the meat. Even "clean" meat is thus made "unclean". Her strongest statement on this subject, with quotes from Leviticus. "Your family have partaken largely of flesh meats, and the animal propensities have been strengthened, while the intellectual have been weakened. We are composed of what we eat, and if we subsist largely upon the flesh of dead animals we shall partake of their nature. You have encouraged the grosser part of your organism, while the more refined has been weakened. You have repeatedly said in defense of your indulgence of meat eating: "However injurious it may be to others, it does not injure me, for I have used it all my life." But you know not how well you might have been if you had abstained from the use of flesh meats. As a family, you are far from being free from disease. You have used the fat of animals, which God in His word expressly forbids: "It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood." [Leviticus 3:17] "Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood, whether it be of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings. Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people." [Leviticus 7:26-27] {2T 60.4}It is theoretically acceptable to eat kosher meat and fish which do not have blood and fat. The modern world is so full of pollution, chemicals and drugs. Why would you want to eat meat? Why are people so unwilling to accept the pre-flood (vegan) diet mandated by God? Is the world situation any better now? Some advice from Ellen White on the vegan diet. Let the people be taught how to prepare food without the use of milk or butter. Tell them that the time will soon come when there will be no safety in using eggs, milk, cream, or butter, because disease in animals is increasing in proportion to the increase of wickedness among men. The time is near when, because of the iniquity of the fallen race, the whole animal creation will groan under the diseases that curse our earth. {CD 349.1} People want to eat meat because it is pleasing and attractive to our fallen human state and animal tendencies. They will not accept God's limitations on the dangers to us and our fallen condition. They will make all kinds of excuses to justify themselves or simply ignore it and indulge their animal desires and passions in secret. Do you have excuses why you do not follow the Law of God? I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
