Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 23rd day of the 4th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6016 Anno Mundi.

The fall holy day season begins with Trumpets Sabbath in 9 weeks and three days starting the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month (Monday, September 17th on the 2012, Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Sunday, September 16th).

An amazing thing occurs in the Gregorian Calendar years of both 2011 and 2012. Those who follow the Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) and the Jewish Calendar agree with the Spring Passover Rule dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar!

I have been studying and pondering the subject of prophets, visions, and how they are related. There is a fascinating event during the Exodus described in Numbers 12. It is very interesting reading... (hint, hint) The most relevant part related to my study:

6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
Numbers 12:6-8
Moses was a prophet in the highest sense of the word. It appears God spoke more and more openly with him than with anyone in recorded history. God states that He speaks to a prophet in visions and dreams. Can a person be a prophet, if God does not speak to them in visions and dreams?

These words from the Beatitudes remind us what it means to be a prophet, to follow a life of righteousness, or do work similar to a prophet.

22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
Luke 6:22-23

An excerpt of a dictionary entry for prophet:

  1. a person chosen to speak for God and to guide the people of Israel: Moses was the greatest of Old Testament prophets.
  2. one of a class of persons in the early church, next in order after the apostles, recognized as inspired to utter special revelations and predictions. 1 Cor. 12:28.
  3. a person regarded as, or claiming to be, an inspired teacher or leader.
  4. a person who foretells or predicts what is to come: a weather prophet; prophets of doom.
  5. a spokesperson of some doctrine, cause, or movement.

In modern use, a prophet does not necessarily receive visions or dreams as their source of inspiration. In a Biblical sense they can be inspired by the Holy Spirit through the reading of God's Word. In a worldly sense, we know they can be inspired by a different spirit.

However, according to the Bible, a vision or dream from God is what defines a prophet. Vision has a wide spread of meanings from the simple sense of sight to the supernatural given by God.

An excerpt of a dictionary entry for vision:

  1. the act or power of sensing with the eyes; sight.
  2. the act or power of anticipating that which will or may come to be: prophetic vision; the vision of an entrepreneur.
  3. an experience in which a personage, thing, or event appears vividly or credibly to the mind, although not actually present, often under the influence of a divine or other agency: a heavenly messenger appearing in a vision.
  4. something seen or otherwise perceived during such an experience: The vision revealed its message.
  5. a vivid, imaginative conception or anticipation: visions of wealth and glory.
  6. something seen; an object of sight.
  7. a scene, person, etc., of extraordinary beauty: The sky was a vision of red and pink.

It is possible to be inspired by a vision of the truth from a reading of the Bible and the power of the Holy Spirit. This is not the same as a supernatural vision from God. Such a supernatural vision usually gives a message, which is a call from God, requiring the messenger to share what God has given.

You may sense that my meditations on this subject come from the promised expectation of the Third Elijah prophet.

5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
Malachi 4:5

It is important for the Holy Spirit trained student of the Bible and a follower of God to be aware of the Biblical characteristics of a prophet. There are many who claim to be prophets or are considered prophets but they are not following the Biblical pattern and sometimes they don't even follow the Bible. These are the prophets of a different spirit.

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
II Timothy 2:15

May I suggest a synonym for "dividing" would be "discerning" and can apply to a discerning of spirits?

Do you have a desire to be close to God and hear His call?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
