The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 27th day of the 6th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6016 Anno Mundi.

The fall holy day season begins with Trumpets Sabbath in three days starting the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month (Monday, September 17th on the 2012, Gregorian Calendar, beginning sunset on Sunday, September 16th).

An amazing thing occurs in the Gregorian Calendar years of both 2011 and 2012. Those who follow the Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) and the Jewish Calendar agree with the Spring Passover Rule dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar!

It has come to my attention the Karaite Calendar determination has placed The Fall Sabbaths a day later than others. This is probably because they use predicted visual sighting rules which can be very arbitrary. Perhaps the Karaites simply do not want to agree with the Calculated Rabbinical Calendar.

The recent disputes over Woman's Ordination has caused some to comment that the shaking of the church is beginning. I first wrote on this subject in a newsletter back in 2010-12-24. I am not going to repeat the EGW quotes and what I said in that newsletter so I recommend you review that newsletter. I started a discussion on LinkedIN asking a question.

What are the issues you see as possibly leading to the prophesied "Shaking"?

Spiritual Formation and Contemplative Prayer?

Women's Ordination?

Feast Keeping?

The Law of Moses?

The Bible speaks prophetically about a shaking in many places.

19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel.
Ezekiel 38:19

Ellen White spoke often of the shaking.

I asked the meaning of the shaking I had seen and was shown that it would be caused by the straight testimony called forth by the counsel of the True Witness to the Laodiceans. This will have its effect upon the heart of the receiver, and will lead him to exalt the standard and pour forth the straight truth. Some will not bear this straight testimony. They will rise up against it, and this is what will cause a shaking among God's people. {EW 270.2} {1SG 184.3} {1T 181.1} {RH, December 31, 1857 par. 6}

What are your thoughts?

I have been studying this subject extensively in the last two years or so as part of the content of the book Third Elijah Message published last year, with major revisions in a second edition published earlier this year. The subject has been repeated and expanded in the book Four Angels' Message, which will probably be published this year.

We will begin with what the Bible says on this subject. Many are not aware the Bible speaks about this. Part of the reason this is not clear is due to a lack of Bible study. Part of the reason is because of a lack of openness to guidance by the Holy Spirit, because the Spirit has been grieved by disobedience. I suspect part of the reason is because the Bible was speaking of things far in the future in parallel with events recent and not too distant to that time. Another part of the reason is a blending of events within the church and the world.

In this verse we see a reference to "the land of Israel", which I believe applies to the church of today. Along with a "physical" shaking we can see a metaphor for the people being shaken not just physically but also spiritually.

19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel.
Ezekiel 38:19

The land of Israel and the people of Israel are a metaphor for those who follow God and are the possession of God. They are His bride, which in the New Testament is identified as His people or His church.

9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
Revelation 21:9

Let me remind you there is nothing new in the Renewed Testament. The metaphor of the bride is very clear in many places in the Original Testament.

5 For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.
Isaiah 62:5
The shaking is mentioned in the prophetic book of Joel, which gives us much guidance about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
Joel 3:16
The physical aspect of the shaking is not just a vain display of God's power. It has a purpose to awaken mankind to their peril and draw their sight to heaven.
6 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;
7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
Haggai 2:6-7
The prophecies of Isaiah closely parallel Joel and Revelation.
17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
18 And the idols he shall utterly abolish.
19 And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
20 In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
21 To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?
Isaiah 2:17-22
Notice the emphasis on the pride of men in both of these passages and the danger of trusting in men.
9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
Isaiah 13:9-13
The mention of the physical and spiritual shaking of heaven and earth is not limited to Revelation in the Renewed Testament.
Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
Hebrews 12:26
As mentioned in the past newsletter, Ellen White spoke often of the shaking. Some more quotes. This one specifically pinpoints the Laodicean church of our time as the setting for the shaking.
I asked the meaning of the shaking I had seen and was shown that it would be caused by the straight testimony called forth by the counsel of the True Witness to the Laodiceans. This will have its effect upon the heart of the receiver, and will lead him to exalt the standard and pour forth the straight truth. Some will not bear this straight testimony. They will rise up against it, and this is what will cause a shaking among God's people. {EW 270.2} {1SG 184.3} {1T 181.1} {RH, December 31, 1857 par. 6}
This quote cautions against an emphasis on end time events such as the time of trouble and the shaking. This is not the primary focus of present truth. This is not a primary part of an evangelistic message. We are to encourage people to do what is right and not scare them into truth.
There is a time of trouble coming to the people of God, but we are not to keep that constantly before the people, and rein them up to have a time of trouble beforehand. There is to be a shaking among God's people; but this is not the present truth to carry to the churches. It will be the result of refusing the truth presented. {2SM 13.1} {LDE 17.4} {1SM 180.2} {3MR 33.2}
The shaking was already beginning in 1850. Events to come were so frightening that Ellen begged the angel to speak directly to God's people. I am reminded of the words of our Saviour in Luke 16:31.
The mighty shaking has commenced and will go on, and all will be shaken out who are not willing to take a bold and unyielding stand for the truth and to sacrifice for God and His cause. The angel said, "Think ye that any will be compelled to sacrifice? No, no. It must be a freewill offering. It will take all to buy the field." I cried to God to spare His people, some of whom were fainting and dying. Then I saw that the judgments of the Almighty were speedily coming, and I begged of the angel to speak in his language to the people. Said he, "All the thunders and lightnings of Mount Sinai would not move those who will not be moved by the plain truths of the Word of God, neither would an angel's message awake them." {EW 50.3} {ExV 31.4-32.2} {RH, April 1, 1850 par. 8-10} {SpTA02a 31.1} {16MR 32.2-32.4}
Notice the emphasis on obedience to the law and the warning against placing restrictions on the work of the Holy Spirit.
If we only knew what is before us we would not be so dilatory in the work of the Lord. We are in the shaking time, the time when everything that can be shaken will be shaken. The Lord will not excuse those who know the truth if they do not in word and deed obey His commands. If we make no effort to win souls to Christ we shall be held responsible for the work we might have done, but did not do because of our spiritual indolence. Those who belong to the Lord's kingdom must work earnestly for the saving of souls. They must do their part to bind up the law and seal it among the disciples. {6T 331.2}

Are you aware and forewarned of the shaking to come to the church and to the world?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
