Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 30th day of the 9th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6016 Anno Mundi.

The first yearly Sabbath of Unleavened Bread begins the Sacred New Year and the Spring Holy Day season in 14 weeks and 5 days on the evening of the 15th day of the 1st month (Wednesday, March 27th on the 2013, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset on Tuesday, March 26th).

The Sacred month begins on the world day after lunar conjunction and the sacred year begins with the Spring Passover Rule dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar. Those who follow the Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) will be observing the Spring Holy Days a month later and the Jewish Calculated Rabbinical Calendar begins a day early in spring.

This paragraph from the Great Controversy was under discussion at LinkedIn.

Those who endeavor to obey all the commandments of God will be opposed and derided. They can stand only in God. In order to endure the trial before them, they must understand the will of God as revealed in His word; they can honor Him only as they have a right conception of His character, government, and purposes, and act in accordance with them. None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible will stand through the last great conflict. To every soul will come the searching test: Shall I obey God rather than men? The decisive hour is even now at hand. Are our feet planted on the rock of God's immutable word? Are we prepared to stand firm in defense of the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus? {GC 593.2}

Unfortunately, the statement "None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible will stand through the last great conflict" has a subtle subtext. Who defines what are "the truths". The Seventh-day Adventist denomination has abandoned its early beliefs and now "the truth" is defined by the leadership. This struggle is not new but has grown to become a monster, which distorts everything. Plain simple Bible truth is rejected because it does not agree with those who are in charge. The denomination forgets this statement:

We have many lessons to learn, and many, many to unlearn. God and heaven alone are infallible. Those who think that they will never have to give up a cherished view, never have occasion to change an opinion, will be disappointed. As long as we hold to our own ideas and opinions with determined persistency, we cannot have the unity for which Christ prayed. {RH, July 26, 1892 par. 7}

I am speaking specifically about the phrase "all the commandments of God". Seventh-day Adventist (and other) tradition implicitly or explicitly sticks the word "Ten" in front of the word commandments. God has given abundant guidance to His children beyond the Ten Statements He spoke out loud to the children of Israel. I recommend a careful study of the entire chapter of Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5 to realize there was much more God had to say. An important warning and reminder of this oversight was given by God Himself:

4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
Malachi 4:4

I believe in obedience to all God's commandments no matter how much I am "opposed and derided" by laymen, pastors, and leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist denomination. My allegiance is to God's Word and not any man. It seems like many will bend their belief to follow the denomination. It is easy to make excuses to justify agreeing with those in charge. There are many excuses being taught all the time.

When men connected with the work of God allow themselves to be bought and sold, when they violate truth in order to gain the favor and approval of men, God records them as betrayers of sacred trust. Let every man stand in moral independence, resolved that his mind shall be molded only by the Holy Spirit. God calls for minute-men, who are not ready to echo the words of unconverted men. In an emergency such men are sure to lead into false paths. The Lord desires us to follow on step by step to know him. {RH, May 9, 1899 par. 12}
I am also reminded of this quote.
The greatest want of the world is the want of men-- men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall. {Ed 57.3}

But such a character is not the result of accident; it is not due to special favors or endowments of Providence. A noble character is the result of self-discipline, of the subjection of the lower to the higher nature--the surrender of self for the service of love to God and man. {Ed 57.4}

Will you stand for the truth in the face of opposition and derision?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
