Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 12th day of the 4th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6017 Anno Mundi.

The fall Holy Day season begins with Trumpets Sabbath in 11 weeks and 1 day on the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month (Sabbath, September 7th on the 2013, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset on Friday, September 6th).

The Sacred month begins on the world day after lunar conjunction and the sacred year begins with the Spring Passover Rule dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar. The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is a month late this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is two days early in the fall this year.

Mario Petrovalle • The SABBATH - - Discussion and study on the Sabbath

This discussion is for members of the group who want to discuss and study the Sabbath

Robert Mass • Mario,

The problem with me now is that I don’t have a Bible to go through these give Bible texts. I am quite lazy, nervous and ashamed to ask friends around for the Bible as they knew that am a great smoker, alcoholic, have more than two wives (polygamy) and most of the time I go against Bible for my society's /tribes' traditions and customs, etc. Even all my best friends are non-Christians, however, I pray that the Creator will remove my fear and shyness away from me to have a Bible very shortly. Please, also pray with me as I am struggling very hard at this time than the time I joined the E-Adventist network.

Mario Petrovalle • Robert, you are going to have a wonderful testimony to give. The Sabbath starts on Sundown, Friday and ends on Sundown, Saturday. So we are now in the Sacred Hours and may not get a response until the Sabbath is over.

Robert, you start your comment with "The problem with me now is . . ." this is self defeating, my I suggest you think of it as "The situation I am in now is . . ." Have faith that God can solve your problem by changing your situation. We will be able to send you the texts about the Sabbath that you need until you get your own Bible (we will post them here on this discussion).

I ask that the members of this group who are willling to pray that Robert gets his own Bible please LIKE this comment, so Robert can see your support.

Next I'd like someone who has lead a Bible study about the Sabbath to volunteer to lead this study with Robert, if there are more than one volunteer, I will contact you privately.

So I expect to see several LIKEs on this comment and at least one person volunteering to lead the study.

Have a Blessed Sabbath Mario

Robert Mass • Hi Mario,

The Bible study for the Given Texts completed with one of my two customarily married wives who is from the Evangelical Church of Papua (worships on Sunday) while the later is from a SDA break-way Religion which others casually call ‘Margret Ministry’ (also Sabbath Keeper, while I am struggling to become Adventist). The study was not really easy as I had to struggle hard with my two partners from two different religions. However, by looking at the given texts (Gen. 2:1-3; - Exodus 20:8-11; - Luke 4:16; - Isaiah 56:5, 6; 58:13, 14; Matthew 12:1-12; - Exodus 31:13-17; - Ezekiel 20:12, 20; - Deut. 5:12-15; Hebrews 4:1-11; - Lev. 23:32; - Mark 1:32.), we all agreed that most of the texts mentioned repeatedly that Sabbath being ‘Blessed’, ‘Sanctified’ and ‘Rested’ for us to keep it ‘Holy’. But then the issue is, on the other side as per Matthew 12:1-12, Jesus defended his Disciples for not keeping it holy though the Disciples actions were done accidently or deliberately. So please kindly summarize Matthew 12:1-12 us from your point of view.

Your prompt response would be much appreciated.

Mario Petrovalle • Jesus answered the Pharasees by pointing to a story in I Samuel 21: 6-8 where David and his men ate the Shewbread. According to the story they were hungry and this was the only food they could eat. He pointed out that although it was not lawful to eat, their great need allowed them to do it. And God did not hold it against them. Matthew 12: 7 is a key verse to understand what Jesus is saying - I hope other group members will comment on that.

Jesus then goes to a Synagogue in verse 9 thru 14. He performed a miracle by healing a mean with a withered hand. The Pharisees accused him of working on the Sabbath, and by work, substitute he healed the man. He answered that it was OK to perform a healing on the Sabbath, because of the man's great need to be healed. He said in verse 12 "It is lawful to do well on the Sabbath."

The Jewish leaders accused Jesus of "improper conduct" many times but we know that in God's sight he did not commit any sin. So we can conclude that the Jewish leaders did not really know what was right and what was wrong, or they knew and 'disliked' Jesus so much that they were willing to make false accusations - to influence the people not to believe in Jesus in spite of the miracles and obvious favor he had with God.

I would like to hear from the others in the group.

Frank T. Clark • Matthew 12:1-12 causes a lot of confusion, misunderstanding, and misinterpretation. The basic problem is that the Pharisees made a lot of nitpicking rules taking it upon themselves to decide what is right and wrong. We follow only God's rules to our best understanding. God is a lot more understanding than man is. People delight in telling other people what to do to obey God's Law.

God said "do not work" meaning essentially our daily work for a living. Keeping a day holy means keeping it set apart for special purpose. We still need to eat and we still need to take care of emergencies. Helping others is God's highest ideal of unselfishness.

The issue here is whether we follow man's rules and traditions or God's. Each person follows God's guidance in their own lives as the Holy Spirit leads them. Everybody knows this verse:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Those who criticize and condemn need to keep reading:

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Since God's purpose is not to condemn us but guide us into truth who are we to go around and condemn others.

Mat 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Mat 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Robert Mass • On Sabbath Discussion research, I also came across some interesting texts not about Sabbath but Gods Law related to the Sabbath. However, as Sabbath being one of the Laws (10 commandments), I strongly suggest we include Law into the Sabbath Discussion. If agreed, please like my comment so that I'll post my first question of discussion regarding God's Law related to the Sabbath.

Frank T. Clark • Oh boy! This is getting interesting. What an incredible observation about the importance of God's Law, particularly in relation to the Sabbath. No wonder you are in this group participating in these discussions and asking these questions. The Holy Spirit is clearly pulling on you. GO FOR IT!

Robert Mass • Thank you all for the discussion.

As per Bible texts provide earlier by Mario and others, I understand God rested on the Sabbath day after creation. Sabbath is blessed and sanctified by God and as we being his people, we are to keep it holy and rest on the 7th days which is God’s day. Jesus also worshiped on the Sabbath and in Heaven, we will also worship God on the Sabbath day. Finally we understand that Keeping Sabbath Holy is one of the God’s Law (10 commandments) and most importantly I see first 4 (with inclusion of Sabbath) talk about how to understand God and last 6 talk about how to love his people, if am right then.

However, the point for the start is ‘what does Colossians 2:13-19 means when Paul says let no man judged you by Sabbath (verse 16) and Ephesians 2:15-Law ended on the cross. Please, during your leisure, someone may kindly summarize Colossians 2:13-20 and Ephesians 2:15 either with supporting texts or on your own words. Forgive me if my discussion doesn’t make sense.

Frank T. Clark • Those are some incredibly powerful questions and they make sense. There is a simple answer and there is a more detailed answer. The answers raise some additional very serious questions. I will start with the simple answers according to my study and understanding. We will see where that leads.

Colossians 2:13-14 is very controversial even within the Adventist church. The meaning of the words is tricky to interpret. It helps to remember the verse separations were added later. The phrase "forgiven you all trespasses" interprets what follows. The written record of our sins is nailed to the cross. No part of God's Law is ever abolished.

The grammar of Colossians 2:16-17 is very confusing and especially in the KJV. No question of ... is decided except by the whole truth of God.

Ephesians 2:15 The love shown by the death of our Saviour destroys the hate in our hearts for God's Law and makes us whole.

Some theologian can give a more detailed answer.

Robert Mass • Please can anyone also add as I need to have clear understanding of what am learning. I see the clear collective answers can also help me prepare myself to respond effectively if happen to face similar question and so on.

Frank T. Clark • When I reviewed my previous comment, I am not sure it was clear. What I did was to provide a simple explanation by paraphrasing the essence of the confusing verses. I will repeat what I said in a more complete paraphrase. KJV in particular can be very difficult to understand.

Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (KJV)

You were dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your heart. He has raised you from the dead together with Him. He has forgiven your sin and canceled the written charges of your sin against the law. He took those charges with Him as He was nailed to the cross. Colossians 2:13-14 (FTCABE)

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. (KJV)

No questions of holy days, new moons, or Sabbath days, which hint at things to come, are decided except by the whole truth of God. Colossians 2:16-17 (FTCABE)

Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; (KJV)

The love shown by the death of our Saviour destroys the hate in our hearts for God's Law. This makes us whole. This gives us peace. Ephesians 2:15 (FTCABE)

Robert Mass • Thank you Clark.

To my Group Members,

If Col 2:14 referring to the 10 commandments (not any other laws written by someone else) being blotted out and Col 2: 16, is it saying no man can be judged by meat (fork meat, etc), drinks such as Alcohol and Holy day (Sabbath). Then I guess that anybody who worship God on any days can go to Heaven though Sabbath (7th day) is thought to be the sign (Common Seal) of God by some.

Please forgive me and help me with you prayers to understand these particular texts I am struggling to understand and don’t be offended by my comment if it hurts any of our members.

Pastor Mock • I ask to learn, where in the Bible does it specifically say the Sabbath (church) is on Saturday for when Jesus Christ is ones Lord and Savior there is no law to go by and everyday is a day of worship. Where does it say in the Bible what specifically, Sunday/Monday is the first day of the week thus Saturday or Sunday is the actual and only day of true worship? Is this biblical or man made as many of our holidays have been made?

Frank T. Clark • Robert, It is true that many choose to interpret the words of Paul in the way you describe. Paul would be shocked at this interpretation. He said, for example:

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Each part of the Bible must be understood in light of the entire Bible. It is not appropriate to take one part and say, "This is the part I follow. This part changes any other part." God says:

Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Frank T. Clark • Pastor Mock, You are giving an example of exactly what I said. As a non-Seventh-day Adventist, you do not accept the whole Bible and all truth. You speak untruth for the Bible says explicitly in many places that the seventh day of the week is the Sabbath.

Lev 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

Lest you try to say we don't know which day of the week is the seventh day consider this.

Mat 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

If you believe your day of Sunday worship is in honor of the resurrection, then you testify to the truth that the seventh day is Saturday.

Our Savior rested in the tomb on His holy day of rest and arose on the first day of the week. A perfect witness from our perfect Savior.

Frank T. Clark • My wife tells me that I must acknowledge that not all Seventh-day Adventists accept the whole Bible and all truth. It is part of the highest ideals of the Adventist denomination to accept the whole Bible and all truth. We are all learning and growing in truth. Unfortunately, some have stopped learning and growing. They are happy with the truth they have. I am reminded of the words of our Savior.

Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Do you accept all of what the Bible says?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
