Preparing for the End of Time

The Lord is Coming!   Are you ready?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in IAUA (ee-ah-oo-ah) our Father,

Greetings on this day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. I pray this newsletter finds you in good health and happy in the service of IAUA. This is the 9th day of the 6th month of God's Sacred Calendar in the estimated year 6017 Anno Mundi.

The fall Holy Day season begins with Trumpets Sabbath in 3 weeks and 1 day on the evening of the 1st day of the 7th month (Sabbath, September 7th on the 2013, Gregorian Calendar, at sunset on Friday, September 6th).

The Sacred month begins on the world day after lunar conjunction and the sacred year begins with the Spring Passover Rule dates my research, and others, has determined for the Gregorian Calendar dates of God's Sacred Calendar. The Millerite Calendar (Spring New Moon Rule) is a month late this year. The Calculated Rabbinical Calendar is two days early in the fall this year.

Excerpts of an interesting discussion from LinkedIn.

George Gomoll • Is it proper for an SDA Church to politely boot someone because they spend one Sabbath a month studying the Old Testament wit a group that includes non-adventists?

Dean Freeman • The way you posed your question to begin the discussion I would have to question what the motivation is that prompted the church to take that step. I would like to have more background information before making any kind of evaluation.

Betty Callahan • Don't Adventist study the old and new testament, so why would one want to kick someone out of the church for studying the old testament with a group that includes non-Adventists on a Sabbath even one Sabbath a month. To me that would make our faith pure legalism, and if that is true, who'd want to join a church that is so legalistic? I am sorry, but I am a former Baptist/other denominations before I read Steps to Christ. I am thankful for the pastor that studied with me, helping to learn about the Sabbath Day more fully. It has taken me a long time of growth to learn more fully to share truth with others. Jesus is the author of the old and the new testament. To me your question really does not make much sense. In the later days, there will be many house churches, so if I stayed home next Sabbath to share the truths that I hold dear from God's Word, you would want to kick me out of the church?

No it is not proper for a SDA Church to boot anyone for they spent one Sabbath a month studying the Old Testament with a group that includes non-Adventists?

Erwin Bredy • If anything focusing on the word on God is exactly what we out to do on the Sabbath, and even more so when we are fulfilling the great commission. As everyone is stating or implying here there is more to this story.

Frank T. Clark • Hi George,

This is going to become more and more common. As you well know, there is a major conflict in the Adventist denomination between the leadership, the Laodicean church members, and those who are studying too deeply in the Original Testament. The denomination has placed a stake in the ground and they will not advance into New Light beyond what was generally accepted before 1888. It is important to avoid pushing the topic too hard on those who are not willing to hear New Light. When problems (persecution) develop it is important to take note of our Saviors words.

Mat 10:23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee into another; for truly I say to you, In no way shall you have finished the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes.

We can adapt the principle here to the current problem. We can try as hard as we want to work within the denomination but the time will come when we will be disinvited one way or another. I have seen many signs in my own church. I believe the time will come when we must graciously move on. This is a good topic to discuss to raise awareness of the problem but I don't believe it is proper to agitate to remain in a local congregation.

Yes! There is much more to the issue. The disagreement centers on Malachi 4:4

Mal 4:4 Remember the Law of Moses My servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, the statutes and judgments.

And a little old lady who knew too much.

"The light given me is that we are to study more than we do the instruction given to Moses by God after He had proclaimed the law from Sinai. The ten commandments were spoken by God Himself, and were then written on tables of stone, to be preserved till the judgment should take place. After the giving of the law, God gave Moses specifications regarding the law. These specifications are plain and explicit. No one need make a mistake."

"In the day of judgment we shall be asked whether we have lived in harmony with these specifications. It is because we do not carry out these specifications in all our dealings, in our institutions, our families, and in our individual lives, at all times, and in all places, that we do not make greater advancement. It is by the directions that God has given that we shall be judged at the last day." {AUCR, March 25, 1907}

Barbara Bailey • There has to be much more to the story. Studying the Bible with non-Adventists (old or new testament) is what evangelism is all about. However, if the Adventist is accepting wrong doctrines and trying to bring them back to the SDA church, refusing to listen to SDA counsel, then I could see a church asking them leave.

George Gomoll • Thanks to all who commented, sorry for not answering before now, I was not receiving the posts in my e-mail. As usual Frank was right on-- this study on 4th Sabbath was the reason given to remove my wife's name from all positions she was nominated for initially by the nominating committee and for ending the Sabbath school class I have been teaching. I also said that this study should be what evangelism is all about but was told that is not the "proper" was to evangelize. As a church we are SO laodician --EGW says laodicia are the foolish virgins in the story of wise & foolish, So sad. FYI- no censure, no discipline, no showing us the error of our ways.

Frank T. Clark • Yes, I was also "politely" removed from my Sabbath School teaching work, removed from any nominating committee mention, and others were specifically warned against listening to what I was studying in the Bible. Various other details I won't go into...

The pastor told me he was going to have a talk with me... but never did. At first I had a few pastoral "surrogates" try to "reason" with me. It was interesting they would quote to me everything except the Bible and Ellen White. Maybe it was because they knew I would point out the inconsistent use of the Bible and EGW. I could not contradict the "authority" of the SDA Ministerial Association, the BRI, and ... I could respond with what the Bible and EGW says but they were not interested in those quotes.

These days I am politely ignored. I do not push the issues. God will provide for Himself a messenger of His own choosing in His own time. I do not move out ahead of God's leading.

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

It is interesting to note that the pastor has never given a sermon in my presence against any of the topics of my studies in the Bible. He has spoken at great length against my studies in his weekly "House Calls" broadcasts at 3ABN. If you have any curiosity about my studies, which are similar to what George is studying, you may refer to my website:

http://www.iaua.name

I gave a series of presentations from my studies to a group at George's house last fall (Tabernacles). Unfortunately, we can't get together very often because George lives 250 miles away.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Do you face conflicts for increasing your understanding of God's Truth?

I pray we may all continue to seek love, peace, and unity in truth preparing for the soon coming of IAUShUO (ee-ah-oo-shoo-oh) Messiah, the Son of God.
